For your computer you don't need to drop 3k on a MacBook , you could get a good i7 or AMD Ryzen 7 for around 1000 for a laptop. For you since you need it for video editing and probably photoshop, I would go with AMD for that. Reason why is because the AMD chips have more to give when it comes to video editing so it will be a faster and more efficient option for you. If you have adobe creative cloud I don't think choosing MAC or Windows will matter because the apps should be transferrable.
