Dang I wanted to see the wicking and removal from the mold. Not to mention I don’t have a power saw so this method would be a much bigger investment for me 😏
Yes and it’s true those molds are expensive this is one way I can make them old thanks to this video was wondering what size wick did you use? It would’ve been nice if you should’ve shown how to take the candle out Nice video
Aw i cant thank enough to you ive been looking for everywhere big pillar molds never able to find it .So defo will do that ..You saved my potenncial business thank you All the best 💗
What did you do so that it would not leak at the bottom where you peaced the hole for the wick and how did you get the candle out of the mold? Thank you.
YOU SIR, Are #TheBest Candle Maker, Video Maker😅 On RUclips You make everything so simple & clear for me to understand, especially since I'm a newbie. Lots of love from the Caribbean island of Trinidad & Tobago 💙✨💜 p.s you got some awesome power tools😍
Thanks For Sharing This Helpful And Easy To Follow Information. I Am A Novice With Candle-making, which has recently become my new hobby. I have the expensive prices for the "regular" candle molds. This video demonstrates a great option for the novice and for the experienced home candle maker.
I tried this with small diameter and even with mold release it didn't come out well. Also, scrupulous cleaning may be necessary, because these pipes are often stored on end and dust and grit from the hardware store will get inside. Works well with larger diameter. Another caveat, if you clean out the molds, the PVC will scratch deeper than metal so you have to be careful how you do it.
where did you get the little plastic knock outs? great idea going to make my own for sure, I'm a wood worker so i already have all the tools i need, thanks for the video.
Great idea! That would be nice to show us how to remove the candle from the mould. I have a question for you: do I need to spray the mould before pouring the wax in? Tfs!
Excellent Video! Excuse me for butting in, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you ever tried - Chireetler Earning Maker Rule (probably on Google)? It is an awesome one of a kind guide for learning how to make candles for fund or profit without the normal expense. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my friend Sam after many years got astronomical results with it.
Just wonderful, I've been looking for "how do you make wax melts smell stronger?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Panlijah Inconceivable Position - (do a google search ) ? It is a good one of a kind product for discovering how to become a candle making master and turn a profit without the hard work. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my brother in law got great results with it.
I've been looking for a pvc pipe molding video and finally found yours ty for making this video first of all.. but I'm curious if you could take the silicone/cornstarch with food coloring video you made to wrap around a pvc pipe to make a resin mold?... and would you need to put anything on the pvc pipe so the silicone won't stick to it?
Don't know how I stumbled across your videos, but glad I did. I'm actually looking at one of the starter kits you used in a video. And after checking out your etsy store I see we're neighbors, kinda. I'm in Murfreesboro. Anyway I really enjoy the videos, keep up the good work Sir.
A silicone based mold release spray will definitely make your life a lot easier. Without it, the candle will still come out of the mold, but it can sometimes be a huge headache! The spray isn't all that expensive and will last quite a while. Here is one I found on Amazon amzn.to/2WRyeZ9
Hello im a big fan of tours but ive never done a candle with this home made mold do u use anything so it could off the mold orvdoent come it out essily?
Rosa Medina I use mold release with any kind of mold. I had to wrestle with this one just as much as any other mold, especially because of the length. But 3 minutes in the freezer and it slid right out 👍🏼
Hi! Thanks you for another fantastic video. Do you think a eco soy wax would do well in a pvc pipe? I am anxious to make one. Can you tell me which wax would be the best to use when using a pvc pipe.
It's great idea but I don't have any power tools so it doesn't become a cheap option anymore. I will have to stick to buying molds. Love that candle, did you use parrafin wax?
Hey! Love your videos, thanks so much for sharing! I have a newbie question... regarding pillar candles! I've read about adding a 'wax improver' for paraffin candles to ensure a thicker colour. My question is, is this product necessary if im adding a colouring already? Appreciate your help!
I don't know if you're still answering questions but can I break up a pillar candle and melt it and put it in a mold? Will it still come out? It's an old pillar candle that I would like to remelt
Not ignorant at all. It might be a little hard to explain in writing. But make sure you check out my next video, which is on Making Basic Pillar Candles. That video should post on Thursday.
It would have been even better if you’d shown how you do the wicking, and how you unmold it. I’m pretty sure something like that would need some “coaxing.”
I do make decent money between my Etsy shop and craft fairs, not enough to retire on just yet lol, but my YoY analytics are getting better and better. Cost cutting gets easier as you grow your business, mainly because you are able to, or at least have the need, to buy your supplies in bulk. Another cost saving tip would be to buy as locally as you can to save on shipping, which can be a killer! But to be honest, when you are first starting out you can definitely hemorrhage money if you're not careful because of all the waste and mistakes that will be made. Which is part of the reason I started this channel, to share the knowledge I've gained and try to help others from making the same mistakes I did.
@@TimberRidgeGifts Hi Tim i got a neighbour to pop em in for me i guess i wasnt using enough elbow grease! but i had a little issue with leaking i guess where there wasnt sufficient pvc cement coverage so i had to go back in with the q tip and seal where the leak was .. thanks a lot for replying
Rookie here! Can you leave the wax in the mold and use the pvc as the vessel? When lit, will that be a problem for the pvc/melt/catch on fire? Thanks in advance.
Me also have problems to get the candle out of the mold. So I appreciate answer how to do that. I tried to apply oil on the mold before pouring the wax inside. It helped but the surface of the candle was not smooth then (like the oil mixed with the wax).
Amazing idea!!! I left the cap unglued, it's even easier to open the mold and push the candle out!
I was wondering if that would work, thank you!
me too.. thank you!
Dang I wanted to see the wicking and removal from the mold. Not to mention I don’t have a power saw so this method would be a much bigger investment for me 😏
You can use a hacksaw to cut the pipe. It's just a bit harder to get a straight cut.
Yes and it’s true those molds are expensive this is one way I can make them old thanks to this video was wondering what size wick did you use? It would’ve been nice if you should’ve shown how to take the candle out Nice video

Love love love your idea. How did you unmold it.
Your videos are the best! Thank you.
Could you explain how the candle was removed, since it wasn't shown on video?
Great vid, both the content and delivery. Thank you!
Such a smart idea 😮

Hi, just subscribed, loved the idea for a mold, but I am trying to figure out a way to make a luminary pillar mold?? Any suggestions? (with a base)
The thick wall pipe is called "Schedule 40" pipe.
Tim,
Did you spray the mold with the release spray before you poured? If not, was the candle difficult to get out? Thank you!

Thank You for this great idea!!!!!
so cool........so, do you have to spray the mold or anything?? I noticed you didn't show the unmolding part LOL..........
Thanks so much for tip! Does the candle just slide out when done ? I’m not sure how to unmold
Hello im a big fan of tours but ive never done a candle with this home made mold do u use anything so it could off the mold orvdoent come it out essily?
This was awesome. Thank you. How does this release? Do you spray the mold prior to adding the wax or does it just slide out on its own once set?
Rosa Medina I use mold release with any kind of mold. I had to wrestle with this one just as much as any other mold, especially because of the length. But 3 minutes in the freezer and it slid right out 👍🏼
Timber Ridge Gifts great. Thank you!
How did you keep it from leaking when you poured the candle, because there is a drill hole made, great video
Thats what I was wondering
Use small amount of glue gun
How do you prevent the wax from sticking to the inside of the PVC pipe?
Would also like to see you unmold the candle.
Hi! Thanks you for another fantastic video. Do you think a eco soy wax would do well in a pvc pipe? I am anxious to make one. Can you tell me which wax would be the best to use when using a pvc pipe.
Straight Soy wax wont make for much of a pillar candle because it is so soft. Best to find yourself paraffin or a para-soy blend,
You are amazing helpfull dude 👍🏻
Best wishes
Hello, can you make cement candles with the PVC pipe as well?
How did you get the mould out fully? Does it detach easily or oil the sides? Or pull from the wick?
Thank you what a cool idea
Do you use release spray in the pvc mold? I wish you had showed how you took the mold out of the pvc pipe
I'm so happy your on here. I have learned sho much with you. Thank you Tim
Thanks for watching!

It's great idea but I don't have any power tools so it doesn't become a cheap option anymore. I will have to stick to buying molds. Love that candle, did you use parrafin wax?
How did you block the wax from coming out of the bottom?
But how did you get it out is my question? Why didn't you show that part, would have been great to see.

If I have a candle and want to make a mold of it, is that possible?

What do you recommend for a pointed tip.

once the wick is threaded through it, you need to seal around it with wick putty to ensure it doesn't leak.

I thank you for the offering
But I did not know how the candle was removed from the cylinder after the drought

Yes. I would suggest it with any mold
Timber Ridge Gifts Ok. Thank Tim. 👍😉
I must Subscribe in ur channel, by the way nice hair cut 😉
Sure wish you would of showed us how easy it was to come out once the wax dried.
How did you get the candle out of your mold?
Mold release works wonders! If they are still being pesky, then a few minutes in the fridge should do the trick.
do i need to use 2 " knock out end caps to fit in the 3" or am i using the correct size ..see below comment
hmmm, the 3' caps should fit the 3' pipe. send a picture to my facebook page and i'll be able to give you a better idea of what you've got going on.
