Thank you. Awesome video's. My son and I replaced my 2014 Cadillac screen in 2 hours. He's retired Navy and works on all his own cars, so he's better than the average person at this. I just watched and helped. We checked back on the video several time to make sure what the next step was, both taking it out and replacing it. Buy the kit that comes with the plastic wedges and plastic tweezers, metal tools will scratch your finish up. When we finished, you can't tell it's been taken apart. The dealer now wants $1,600, up from $1,200 about 6 months ago, to replace the cracked screen. We copied every step the video said, and everything came out perfect. Read all the other comments, as there are some great tips here.
I finished the Cue touchscreen install today on my Cadillac 2013 SRX. I had issues with the ribbon strips in that there are more than what was shown in the video. I am a very literal person. The video showed 3 white ribbon connections to check yet there are 4 connections that can be checked. It was my mistake but once I noticed the one above the touchscreen ribbon I was able to quickly tighten it up and get it done. I will admit that because of the ribbon issue, it took me a whole day and a half, but I am a 60 year old woman with not a ton of automotive repair background. Also we thought the touchscreen may not have been working due to battery drainage so charged it all night. Charles, the Customer Service person was AWESOME! He actually called me back at least 3 times with suggestions. I am completely happy to have saved all the money and now I am getting ready to install a new back up camera. Then on to a leaking hydraulic lift gate replacement. Whoo hoo for self repairs!
Unbelievable and awesome product. Cadillac wanted $1,300.00 to fix the well known defective screen, and Cadillac has some nerve to not do a recall for what is really a disposable and defective item. This will be my last Cadillac (OK, I vented enough). I goofed a little when I installed the screen, and I managed to loosen one of the small white ribbon cables which you should never touch during the install, but it may come loose inadvertently. My screen turned on after reinstalling it, but the black panel below the screen did not light up. I actually called the number on the Cuescreen website in the evening, and I thought it was going to voicemail, but it was answered by the owner (I think he is the owner). He told me in a couple minutes what I did wrong, and he was correct. He was also a real gentleman and very professional. All up and running now!!! Yeah, getting the trim apart was the hardest part. Pry outward the top trim first (start at top, the very tippy top, and pull out from there first), then pull on the bottom trim to get to the 2 screws holding in the top trim. Don't be afraid to pull too hard on the bottom trim to get to the 2 screws that hold the top trim on. I used a small rachet 7mm to get the 2 screws out, there is just enough room when pulling the bottom trim out to use the rachet. Do use plastic only wedges, get the kit, because you will scratch the trim while massaging the trim apart (metal tips will slip and scratch). Even if you are not mechanical or don't have a little muscle to do this (the trim), buy it anyway and find a handyman who can follow step by step directions on the internet by this company. This is one of those rare products that are more like miracles, and they work better than the original part. I am very thankful to Cuesystems.com. Thanks CUESYSTEMS!!!!
After reviewing some of the other videos on internet, this is one of the best I found. It is thoroughly explained and show great closeup clear videos. I was able to remove and replace my old screen that looked like it was cracked. After visiting the dealership for a estimate of $1100+ and a side shop for an estimate of $800+, this save me $700+. Thank you. God bless
Gentlemen, I just finished the CUE screen install. Your instructional video was terrific and made the job super easy. My only other comment would be to include the small pliers with the other tools you supply with the screen. Thanks for saving me $1,350.00 at my dealer.
Thank you CueScreens!! By using your procedure here to remove the CUE assembly from our 2016 Cadillac SRX, and shipping it off to have you replace the screen, you easily saved us well over $1,200 from the dealer for a full replacement! The only hiccup I ran into is in the final stage of reassembly, I can't figure out how to get the leather curved trim pieces back in on either side of the transmission tunnel (with 7mm screws tightened) and then get the lower black plastic trim tucked under and snapped into place. The lower plastic trim has that molded ridge, and once those 7mm screws are holding the upper leather covered pieces in place I can't lift the upper pieces to tuck the lower trim underneath. It's like a chicken-and-egg problem. Would sure love a video of the reassembly!
It’s a great video but for the novice, the total time removal/replacement it took us 3 hours. Definitely recommend using a magnetized screwdriver and a shallow clear plastic tackle box to store the removed screws. We also had to constantly watch the removal video as we installed the replacement. In the end though, we had a new fully working screen. Thanks
The step where you are disconnecting the wires from what appears to be the back of the unit, is there enough slack when the unit is removed to set the unit on the console or seat and get those out? The video looks like the unit is already out of the car when you take the wires off? Also I agree with the other poster that it would be nice to see the demonstration of taking the Trim off. Furthermore, I'd like to see you remove the screws after the trim is off and then the step of removing and lifting the Unit out of the dash. Thanks.
You can disconnect the battery if you like- but just make sure the doors are closed when you are replacing the screen so your battery doesn't run down.
cuescreens.com/shop. Order the premium version if your CUE has not been replaced in the past. If it has been replaced in the past, send your VIN to cuescreens.com for a product recommendation.
I can’t even get the first piece of trim off!!! And you can see where these plastic trim removal tools are leaving gouged marks on the plastic trim. There needs to be a COMPLETE video where it’s actually showing the trim being removed.
You have to be a bit rougher with it, and you might tweak some of the edges permanently, but it is a little tough. You have to use some aggressive strength and be very persistent.
Did you get this thing out and back in and working. I don't see a reply to your question, did you call support? Maybe they don't want to deal with youtube questions?
Hi Mr Williams! I got the side panels loose. But not off. I was unable to get to the bolts. I guess I just need a little more hand holding. I have not called them I’m just looking for a stereo repair shop.
Wedge the trim tool to create enough opening to get your fingers in , grab ahold with both hands, and yank it hard. Those clips are coming up on 8 years of use and become pretty tight, you will need to be more aggressive with it to have the clips release.
@@Shellieloo25 No need to fully remove the side panels. Just enough to peel back and access the bolts in the video. Loosen the one, and remove the other one on each side.
It’s sad when people pay 60K for a Cadillac that has known issues with the Cue system and head units. Figure my wife would get more for her hard earned money. My Dodge Ram has never had known repetitive issues like this!

Just got my new cue screen done. Awesome video. Thanks for saving me so much money. Great job guys!!!
I just finish, very simple. This video help me a lot. Thanks.

Just curious about your little cordless screw driver..which is it

No, you will need to disconnect them first before removing from the opening. Not much slack
Do I need to disconnect battery

Not very helpful. Showed how to unplug the electrical that was the easiest thing to do but did not show how he actually removed any of the trim.
