if McGrady was healthy for longer, he could have improved his game and overall be a higher impact than Carmelo... Instead, he was busy trying to stay in playing health.
In his prime McGrady was the more impactful player already

Everyone got opinions but idc what nobody talking bout..I was in 7th grade and saw Mac drop 42 on Melo with ease I’ll never forget I had a stomach virus that week, then I saw the 13/33sec and 62pt games live and the Christmas battle against Lebron so good video but respectfully NAH Tmac was too cold with it and better than Kobe at one point 🤷🏾♂️

The use of true shooting is nice, but it has to be compared with league average, and McGrady in his prime is better than Melo in that department (+4.5 to +2.7). The same goes for playoffs when their best season’s true shooting are similar while the league averages are different, so the edge goes to McGrady again. In fact, in terms of long twos, McGrady consistently hits over 40% of them each playoffs while Melo seldom had such seasons.
In terms of volume scoring, both have similar usages in their peak and points per 100 possessions. While the share of shot attempts are similar, so are their turnover rates. This is based on the fact that McGrady has way higher assist numbers, meaning the turnovers he committed in iso scoring situations is less.
Definitely Tracy McGrady. He has 2 scoring titles, and he had a higher peak than Carmelo Anthony.

Nobody thinks kobe is the best scorer of all time. That title is undisputedly for wilt. Kobe 3 30+ ppg seasons, wilt has 8. Mj has 9 but didn’t get close to the scoring of peak wilt.

It’s crazy tmac isn’t considered a clutch player (he just wasn’t in the playoffs) but he had THE clutches performance in a comeback in the history of the nba.

For all the talk about how great of a scorer Melo is, he only won a single scoring title (2013) and never had a 30 PPG season.
T-Mac won two scoring titles, one more than Melo, and had a 30 PPG season (32 PPG in 2003). Hell, LeBron and Wade both have the same amount of scoring titles as Melo and both have a 30 PPG season while Melo does not. And LeBron and Wade aren't exactly people that are known as 'scorers'.
And that's not even to get into players like Kobe, KD and Iverson....
For someone whose game was scoring and nothing else, you'd think Melo would have separated himself from the pack more.
