Hi, the 2008 model was the reason I bought mine. Had it for a loaner when my car was in repairs. It was snowing for several days in a row. I took the car up in the mountains without any problems, so after that experience I decided to buy one😁
Hi tofty, great to hear. The t31 made me buy mine. What I've heard is that when you buy a t32, the automatic gearbox isn't that great. Mine was a manual and never had problems with it. Good luck finding one

The bright day-time screen can be dimmed manually. The third switch down on the right side of the screen switches it to dimmed "night-time" driving mode. Also, when then headlights come on, the screen dims for night-time automatically. You can switch between them if you want.
Hi Brain, thank you for the information. You can even turn off the screen by holding the night button, then the time will appear on it. I sold the car last year. Drove it for 2 years with pleasure.
Hi, I had a 05 for a loaner at one point in wintertime with a lot of snow. That was the reason I bought one😀. I really enjoyed the car, sold it though.
I have watched this video multiple times, and today I have decided to read the comments to be surprised that this is a manual!! never seen a t32 manual! That was a surprise!
Hi Samual, thank you for replying and watching the video, I hope you like it. Maybe my shifting is so perfect it looks like a automatic😜. The funny thing is, I bought the car in Switzerland and they only sell it in 4wd. Recently I moved to the Netherlands took the car with me and imported it. After some research it seemed quit special because in the Netherlands they only sell the nissan in front wheel drive. So all countries the cars got different options. .
Talking about the all wheel drive system I think what you need is something like Subaru’s symmetrical that can allegedly distribute power to different sides. Or a full blooded system like u get on the land cruiser with lockable differentials. As far as I know the xtrail doesn’t actually have lockable differentials. The xtrail awd “lock” position simply means the transfer clutch is fully engaged at low speeds. Differentials between left and right side wheels remain open so if one side loses traction all power is sent to that side ... it’s a law of physics.
Hi Kele, couldn't agree more to what you are saying. The xtrail isn't in the league of a subaru or land cruiser. It is a nice cvt, but that's all it is. For rough terrain you need something else. It brought me everywhere I needed to go though. Thank you for the explanation😁
I guess this will come a bit late, but regarding the infotainment screen brightness at night, there's a setting for night mode. Set it to your preferred level and it shouldn't bother you anymore. Mine is set at such a level that I've never noticed what you mentioned.
good review, i personally think the 1.6 engine is too small for this car. It revs high for too long in 1st/2nd gear when moving from a standstill, because of that it gets quite bad economy in city driving, especially because the car is quite heavy. However, for highways the diesel engine makes up for it and you can expect 50+mpg or 4.7l/100km. One more thing is the back two seats have terrible leg room, even kids struggle to sit comfortably without moving the middle row quite abit forward. apart from that this car is amazing.
Hi Haks 123, Spot on. The 6,7 seats in the back are pretty useless. I didn't buy it for that, i bought it because it was a tekna and the cheapest online at that time. Its not an audi or subaru but i must say the 4x4 took me everywhere without any problems. No rough terrain tho. All cars have ups and downs but i really liked the car too.
Your comment in 03:50, ALL Japanese cars use some different light metal for their cars and usually have problems with rust but on the other hand I think that 6l for 1.7t of car is perfect! P.S I want to buy this car I would appreciate your opinion about the problems with this car and how long you have it. Thanks :)

So i can only tell you about this particular car, i dont know how reliable the petrol engines are, if i am not mistaken all the engines are renault engines. The petrol engines aren't that reliable, the dieselengines were good, no problems with them. The car didn't show any rust , the car was 4/5 years old. When i bought the car had 45k km on the odo and i sold the car after 2 years with 82k kms on the odo. In that period only 1 malfunction accured due a powercut on the battery, battery was pretty new but had a power cut, after that sometimes the pdc and cruise controll didnt work. Not all the time tho, after a reset at a garage it never came back. Mine was a manual gearbox, thats the one to have, the cvt gearboxes are shit and will brake down, reparing them costs a pretty penny. For the rest the tekna edition is the one to have because of all the standard options it got, led lights, electric leather seats and 19" rims and much more. It is a pretty big car but the overview is excellent, little dead angles and it drives like a you are driving a smaller car. I really enjoyed this car, still miss it sometimes So my advise if you are in the market to buy one: buy a manual and make sure it's a tekna edition. Most bang for your buck.
