I never realized this Till your comment -- but mine does tooI was at my local quilt shop talking to the girl cutting my fabric-- they have same mat and she agreed too, Thank you for this comment-- I’ll be looking for another alternative
Very interesting quilt. Beautiful choice of fabrics. Your design wall really helps with putting the blocks together. Thanks for all the links. Always enjoy your tutorials.
@@AnitaSouthall Lucky you! I don’t have a wall with enough space for a design wall, either. If the quilt is really large, I go to my quilt shop and use their design wall. I also use the floor, but that is my last resort, as getting down on the floor is way too painful. Still trying to figure out a solution.
fabulous April, I've had this cross on my todolist for so many years it's just ridiculous. I, like you, don't have tons of $$ for patterns and therefore never bought one. I'm glad and sad that the designers work is now a free pattern. But, I'm going to take advantage and print one out. Your meadow flowers are lovely.
Such a sweet thing to do for your sister in law. The flowers on the cross look sooo pretty and the blue / green fabric makes the flowers pop. Another great vid x

Thank you so much for doing this quilt. I am very new to quilting, (as a matter of fact, I just finished my very first quilt, 5 days ago. It's just a lap size and the binding is really bad, 😊, but I'm happy with it overall) but I have had this cross quilt kit or a couple of years and have been afraid to start it. Now with this, I can start it! I would love to see it finished. Thank you again! I'm so excited.

My guess is possibly starch because it can prevent stretching on larger pieces of fabric especially on that white. Longer seams, more handling can distort fabric, starch is a bit like light cement keeping it together. Can always wash it after its fully quilted and the binding is on.
I'm using either Faultless Premium Luxe Spray (and you will see the can) or a new product that is supposed to be a combination or Best Press and starch. It is called Magic Premium Quilting and Crafting Spray. I got a big bottle of it and I pour it into one of those sprayer bottles that has a bladder which sprays evenly. There are links in the video description. April
