Why DFinity Modulates Staking Rewards

- I recently put out a video proving to my viewers that DFinity modulates your staking rewards when you cash out. In other words, you are not paid what the staking dashboard promises. After reviewing a few comments from my viewers, I decided to do some more probing. In this video, I go over the maturity modulation chart provided by DFinity as well as the reason they gave for modulation in their documentation. I hope you misfits enjoy!

Interesting thing that I have noticed is that staking rewards are not linear in proportion to how many you staked, instead there are "levels", for example, a neuron with 40 ICP will receive the same rewards (0.02 ICP per day in this case) as a neuron with 50 ICP (which also receives exactly 0.02 ICP per day). So it will be smart to identify these levels and insert an optimized number of tokens to get up to the next level of reward rate

This is called age bonus, there are neurons that have this because they have been locked from year or 2 years, that’s why if they locked 40 icp a year ago, they will get more rewards compared to someone who put 50 just today.
I like that more people are joining in to the community and yes when i first joined i found a lot of things that were “hidden” and didn’t make sense but yea ICP has many technical details that require time to fully understand

Can you make a video of sending ICP from a exchange to Plug wallet(or another) and to the ICP NNS?
I still think they should improve it. Maybe update the neuron display page to show a range of ICP values the user can expect to receive if spawned immediately.
The reason I got revux is because I believe decentralization is more important than anything else.
James, is it at at the time you spawn a new staking rewards neuron or when you disburse it after you've already spawned it and the 7 days have gone by allowing you to disburse it that the amount you get is determined? I'm trying to figure out what to do in future as, currently I have a backlog of seven neurons of which one becomes available, to be disbursed, everyday and I spawn a new neuron everyday. Can you suggest to me how I can stack these up in any certain way to take advantage of an up day to get more rather than less as you've spoken about?

I feel that the price of ICP is significantly more important than modulation delta. Given the history of price at launch, I feel they should use every lever they have, for now.
