Node providers are really the backbone of ICP, in my view, and have far more at stake than staking on the nns (having to provide more capital upfront plus machines are worthless once outdated). I feel they should get first dibs at rewards. 75% is a hefty tier to drop down from, and I think 33% may be more aligned with how inflation has presented itself in the last few yrs. We all can't be stakers moving forward.

Very important topic, while I would luv the deflationary aspect or the need for Gen 2 machines for AI capacity etc... I do believe in a level of fairness, however if this was part of the plan and Gen1 node providers were aware of this for years ahead of time, maybe a jump to decrease 75% is fair?

Whilst i understand node1 concerns we need people to upgrade to gen2 to allow new functionality like memory encryption not possible on the older machines. Maybe a tiered reduction 33% for 6 months then another 33% for next 6 months etc would be bettefairer to give them more time . We have nodes not online and they arent accepting new nodes as capacity is fine any node1 that want to leave can . Node1 are stopping some new features from being implemented.

Freddie here - i think it’s a fair proposal. Theres a balance to maintain for the rewards, quality and quantity of the nodes. I think this minor reduction will give current gen 1 machines enough time to switch to gen 2 and so everyone wins. Node rewards are the smallest part of inflation too so even if it was a 75% reduction most people wouldn’t have noticed the decrease in inflation. I do know someone that manages some node machines and ill ask him if he wants to interview

The United States is going to be around for a long time still. There were a few times during the Roman empire where it looked like it was going to collapse but bounced back. The empire lasted around 600 years. The USA will have to change a lot from it's current state, particularly in the sense of cleaning up the corruption, but it will likely be in power for hundreds of years still.

I hope this finds you well. The truth is that "you're not speaking the language of the business/location owners you've approached." Why? Because you ain't offering to pay them for that. Every business owner wants money and if you ain't talking money, you won't get their attention. Just the same way you charge people to speak with them on technical stuffs. 150 or 200 bucks per hr. You wouldn't pay attention to anybody seeking that knowledge but ain't willing to pay for it. The bottom line is: If you really want it, you buy it.

There have always been those who have used technology for 'shortcuts'. But when the technology changes, they are left behind because they didn't understand how the basis of the 'shortcut' worked. Do farmers know how to farm anymore using their mega-machines that are so expensive they can only rent them for a season? Do they know how to farm without artificial fertilizers and disease-causing pesticides? Technology has been abused for the past 150 yrs and the effects are just now starting to show themselves. Have you seen how Chinese do math compared to how the west does math? The abuse of technology eventually catches up with you. And when your girl must have an in-depth conversation about her subject matter, her lack of true understanding will be revealed. In the US, bullshitting your way up the ladder is considered 'smart', but truly smart people are the only ones who can affect change. Look at the ICP engineers who are creating the next level of internet ... I study and find it hard to keep up. At least I am studying and gaining CONCRETE knowledge, as are you. No AI is going to be able to create INNOVATIVE ideas ... It takes a brain with true understanding to produce original ideas. Regurgitating what AI has been told is not original and will soon be exposed as relegating those who rely on it to just being the technicians that know how to use the tool, like secretaries used to know how to use the typewriter. The leaders will be the ones who understand HOW technology works and how to improve it.

This is an interesting proposal AFTER there is widespread adoption. Right now, we need anyone who is even interested in short-term profits to get involved. Once ICP has become the mainstream token it deserves, people will pay attention to voting concepts. ICP needs to remember that most people don't vote in their political elections, you can't expect investor types to care about being active in DAO management. Just let the follow someone who cares... and leave them alone....for now...once ICP has been recognized for what it is, then punish non-participants

I still don’t think you need a venues permission. You can use Google maps API. Or another geolocating API and just use the users latitude and longitude send it to Google places API. It will return the nearby establishments/venues. Then the user can select if they want to check in. And you could hard code a whitelist of locations you want to initially test. So it only works at those locations. Anyway just my 2 cents GL homie
