Seven Steps to Heaven is the eighth studio album on Columbia Records by jazz musician Miles Davis, released in 1963, catalogue CL 2051 and CS 8851 in stereo. Recorded at Columbia's 30th Street Studios in Manhattan, and at Columbia Studios in Los Angeles, it presents the Miles Davis Quintet in transition.

Tony played 4 on the Floor, feathered it. And played WAAAY ahead of the beat, with all that teenage energy.

any source for that ? Because, as far as the recording goes, the bd is pretty clear, even when he's ''feathering it'' and there's no way he's doing 4 on the floor. Maybe a live recording ? An anecdote ? He said it somewhere ?

tony williams is my favorite when it comes to high tempos his ride cymbal phrasing his ablity to comp with the kick and snare drum at such high tempos affortlesly and keep and every thing swinging such a master thank you for this transcription one of my favorite miles davis albums
