Goshawk's are EXTREMELY strong raptors. They are in the Accipiter family of Hawks. Along with their smaller relatives the Coopers & Sharp Shinned. Granted the Osprey is larger but it can't outmaneuver the Goshawk. Accipters are very fast and know how too weave in and out of thick forest too capture birds their primary prey. If you bird feed you've most likely seen a Coopers or Sharpie as i like too call them trying too make a meal out of your backyard birds. Particularly in winter when food is scarce. I've been in the avian field now for the better part of 30yrs. Having "hands on" experience with everything from Warblers to Birds of Prey. So i've worked with these 3 birds throughout my time in the field. It's tragic if this is the same Osprey family that lost their young too a Common Raven. Raven's are every bit a predator they may lack the talons a Bird of Prey possesses. But they may up for that in sheer beak power alone. And they are twice the size of their smaller Corvid Crow cousins. On average 25in with a 4-4.5ft wingspan weighing in around 2.5lbs. Most Birds of Prey give them a wide birth and don't mess with them and rightfully so. They are as agile in flight as an Hawk or Eagle. Being able too tumble, soar, dive, roll, etc...
Osprey nets are essentially fast food joints for other raptors, so jokes! The osplets are cheeseburgers. The parents might as well be asking the goshawks and eagles if they want fries with that ospletburger. And the goshawks are like, "No thanks. I'll be back later for another burger though."
The one sibling drags the other one off with it. I’m sure it was just trying to hang on to anything but it looked like, if I’m going down I’m taking you with me. They may have been big enough to survive and go on to make it. They looked almost ready. But I don’t know if that’s the case. Does anyone know the status?

Goshawk gotta eat, same as ospreys do. It's no picnic for the goshawk. 2 adult ospreys can kill or injure it just as it can them.

It’s also crazy they had four chicks make it to that size. Mom and dad must’ve been great hunters, and there must’ve been lots of food.
That sucks. Those Osprey’s were pretty big already. A few more weeks and they would’ve been on their own, that’s nature for you.

Where was the attack?
The camera did not record the attack of the hawk on the last chick. The chick was gone when the camera started working.

It sounded like the opening nests were dangerous to the ospreys. Even the crow could attack and conquer the nest.
