This first fight(ing lesson) is a masterclass in showing how a magic fight should be like! no stupid callouts&behavior ... just effortless power (ab)using the elements 🧙 one of the scenes that stuck with me for really being done well!
This is a cool anime. I find Ep 5 and 7 my favorite ones. They’re humorous and chaotic. The rest of the episodes that I didn’t mention are ok. I like the anime’s concept, something that puts into my imagination that makes it a reality, traveling or going on a magical journey even if magic doesn’t actually exist irl. I just find it fun and amusing. It also has a lot of experience.
To me, that's what made it great. The dark parts gave it depth and made it human. If it were only cute and funny that would have been saccharine to the point of diabetes. They've got alot of those animes.
The anime took too much dark topics from the LN There's literally wholesome Yuri couples and other stuff, the anime doesn't fully portray elainas character other than episode 1. At this point the anime is just a show to screenshot elaina's facial expressions for the light novel readers.
@@luxitos2867 there’s a balance that can be struck in storytelling. Obviously it’s all based on the writer’s preference. Just filling the story with darkness doesn’t make for anything but a depressing watch. If you’re happy to have a major downer, then it’s perfect for you. But I prefer a Joe Abercrombie style mix of dark humour and dark fantasy. Balance dark themes with something else. Some people choose action, others romance, some mystery and intrigue. This anime was basically a exposition of a depressing world. Not a bad thing, but not going to win my undying love either.

It also validates why witches are respected in every place she visits, they are powerhouses.
I'd recommend you to watch the Frieren vs Frieren battle, in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End.
I really love the wand design!
Same!!!
I love how the spells interact with the handle instead of just the tip
Agreed! It's much more better than just a regular Branch looking one
she's so cute! even if she's angry. Great work on this video

Ep 3 was really sad , I heard Nino killed the chief and committed suicide
Majo Rika from Ojamajo Doremi would be proud of this witch.

Show had great potential but too depressing for me. The animation, art and sound design were top notch. The story touched on some pretty dark topics.
