    I can’t tell you how thankful I am for your videos!! I was so scared that after spending over $1000 on my machine I would have to spend the same to be able to use software since I have a mac. You guys have made it so easy for me to learn and I have so much fun converting the images to be able to embroider them!!

    Thanks again for your video and the introduction into the Ink/Stitch lettering system. It's really nice to see how you are discovering more and more features of the Inkscape plugin. I'm also always very curious when issues and errors are occuring. When we introduced the params error message, it didn't occur to me, that it would be used to validate objects - I simply intended to reduce waiting time for broken objects. So it was very interesting for me to see your params issue.
    I don't know if you are interested on why this is happening, but I just thought I would go a little deeper into this topic. The params window is originally thought to set parameters for one stitch type at a time. Or even update the stitch type for the selected elements. Fill cannot be converted into an other stitch type, so we always know, this is going to be a fill stitch. Since we know that, params will be able to handle fills with any other selected object at once. It becomes a little harder if we think about strokes and satins. Continuous lines (zig-zag stitches) are not easy to differentiate from satins (they also consist of continuous lines). You may want to change your satin stitch into a zig-zag stitch or vice versa. Ink/Stitch is confused about which stitch type you want to apply to the selected elements. In your case it assumes, you want all selected continuous lines to be a satin stitch. It doesn't find the correct satin setup and ouputs an error message.
    We are on the road to update the params dialog completely (this may take a little while longer though). I hope we will then be able to handle this issue much better than now. Maybe we should just simply assume that a continuous line with only one subpath is never meant to be a satin stitch. Or even handle selected elements in a completely different way.

    is there a way to remove the line that connects the letters? I saw it in your params preview, and it appeared to stitch with connecting line, but in your finished product, the white connecting line was gone. Did you cut it with scissors? If so, wouldn't that encourage the previous/following stitch to loosen?

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  2 года назад

      Thanks for watching! The lines that are connecting each letter in the params preview are jump stitches. They are safe to cut without anything being ruined. Hope this helps!

    We recently got an embroidery machine and started using Ink/Stitch, and so I just binge-watched a bunch of your episodes and subscribed to your channel. I love the projects you've created, admire how you work together, and enjoyed the concise yet enthusiastic videos you've shared. Stay crafty and be happy!
    For your videos it's nice that you use the menu, but when you're not recording I hope you've added keyboard shortcuts for the Params dialog and Simulator output as they are so much faster than using hierarchical menus. I use Command+Shift+P for Params and Command+Shift+I for Simulate since they are used the most.
    I'm curious, on your Brother if you use the "Extensions > Ink/Stitch > Commands > Attach Commands to Selected Objects..." and add the "Trim thread after sewing this object" command to some objects does your machine do the trim after stitching them out? If so, it could save you from having to manually cut all the jump stitches.

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  3 года назад

      That is so funny that you mentioned shortcuts… We will be working on a video on setting up shortcuts real soon!
      We will do some research on the auto thread cutting commands, thank you for that info! We have really appreciated the help from the community, as we really just started embroidery and digitized designs less than a year ago. Thank you for watching and the tips!!!!

    How do you cut this for a large hoop like the 5 by 7 from your other video. It won’t allow you to break up the letters anymore like before. Please post a video or any advice!

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  6 месяцев назад

      Interesting, we will have to look into that. But we'd imagine if you are trying to split a single letter it might be easier to just manually lay down the shape of each side in railroad track form. Thanks for watching!

    Glad I found you guys - I am not an embroiderer but am a Inkscape user so I am turning my brother's logo into an embroidery file so that our mom can make him some stuff. My question is - is it normal to have that many connecting lines and does that show in the final product? Is it just cut off or is there something I can adjust in Institch/Inkscape to reduce the number of them. The design is jumping from the first letter to the last letter then back. A lot of lines. Not sure if I can add a photo to show you what I mean.

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  8 месяцев назад +1

      The number of jump stitches will vary depending on the design and how you set the project up. You can rearrange your designs and make adjustments to reduce jump stitches. Some machines can use trim commands and cut the jump stitches for you, otherwise they are done by hand. Your videos have been the most helpful out of the probably hundreds that I have watched! Thank you thank you thank you!!! I am a beginner and I am working with a brother se400 embroidery machine. My first project that I am trying to tackle is embroidering text onto crewneck sweatshirts. I practiced with regular t-shirts and after toggling some of the settings I ended up with a result that I liked. However, I am having trouble getting a good finish on the sweatshirts. I have toggled every setting I can imagine in params and nothing turns out nice. (I also don't really know what im doing lol) I was wondering if you would be able to tell me which settings would be best for the sweatshirts. Thank you!

    Thanks for your videos, they are extremely helpful. I was wondering if you all know why there are dashed lines and U-shaped lines in addition to the "railroad" in the lettering provided with inkscape? Not sure if that is something that might be helpful when created satin-filled shapes? Thanks again for all the helpful information.

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  2 года назад

      Hello there! The additional shapes and dashed lines are part of the programmed underlay for the letters. When you are creating satin fill shapes, you can pretty much do the same thing in params/commands. You will sometimes see the dashed lines, etc. when you "auto-route" satin columns. Hope this helps!

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  2 года назад

      When you say lettering, do you mean actual text or the lettering "skeleton" that is created in the lettering tool? We have found when using the lettering tool, params will fault when that lettering is overlapped on another object, but if you use the visualize/simulate preview, it stitches out fine, and if that works it should stitch out in real life, despite the params fault.
