Dimmu's big shows are amazing, but I got to see them in a 800 person capacity club in Kansas City back in 2008. They bring the same power to tiny stages as well. It was INCREDIBLE. Not to mention they are genuine and nice individuals as humans.
That’s refreshing when an artist is down to earth... too many people get egos once they make it big... I’d love to see them live... they’ve got such a big amazing sound and have an amazing cast of performers they bring with them
Seen them at the Forum, Kentish Town (London) and also on big festival stages like Hellfest and Download. They put on a great show either way :)
I saw them on the same tour in about the same size venue. Awesome show.
Progenies of the great apocalypse at Wacken 2012 is an awesomeness to watch and hear

One of the coolest things is that this was actually broadcast on Norwegian tele (think there's actually a recording of that floating around youtube too).

This song is awesome. In this same tour there is a video of The Mourning Palace @ wacken, its even better in my opinion. Its a song from before they started using orchestras and chiors and now upgraded with them. Seeing some orchester guys geek out makes it even better. Check it out.

u must watch the full concert this band in wacken open air 2012, they play with orchestra too..
100% their shows are just so extravagant. At least check out Mourning Palace from the same DVD set. One of the greatest black metal songs ever written and there's some cool stuff caught on camera with the orchestra.

I believe it's a hard "G" sound. Also, I think the faces are more paint than masks, but I could be wrong.

Haha dude. I'm Norwegian and I was at this gig in 11.:) It was so awsome, but because of it all beeing live, they couldn't turn the voluum to the top. (heard someone complained about that) but the whole sound was amazing!! I believe it was 101 people on stage. (Dimmu counts 5). Nice reaction my friend! I think you can look up their intire "Forces of the Northen Night" on youtube:) Ohh. by the way, the orchestra is the Norwegian Broadcast Orchestra:) Hi from a dude in Norway!

You need to turn down the input level of your mic, then turn it up somehwere else.
BTW, react to the two first tracks of their album "Puritanical Euforic Misantropia" - In sequence - the transition matters.
Try Progenies of the Great Apocalypse (the full album version, not music video), The Insight and the Catharsis, or Mourning Palace. That will give you a real feel of what Dimmu is actually about.
