".... and if it doesn't work, here's why...." is the greatest contribution to stress reduction there is! Thanks.
You’re welcome!
I shouldn't have to look for videos on transitions, they should be completely intuitive. Transitions should be the fist thing that the developers developed to be 100% intuitive. Davince is NOT the least bit intuitive in this regard.
There’s a lot of things and resolve that are not intuitive off the bat. Part of the reason why the learning curve for Resolve is steep.
Number 1) Thank you for not using vulgar language. Number 2) Thank you for easy to follow demonstrations. Number 3) Thank you for the troubleshooting tips. AMAZING video. You ROCK!
You’re welcome! Thanks you for watching!
Thank you for explaining why transitions wouldn't always fit between clips, that had me completely baffled when I ran into it!
Even as a beginner I'm loving how much you can do in DaVinci, but at the same time there's so many options and so much to learn it can be overwhelming without videos like this to explain things.
You’re welcome! There’s so much that resolve can do it’s almost endless. The learning curvest deep but keep working at it and eventually you’ll figure out how everything works. I’m still learning to and I still feel like I barely know anything about this program. 😜
I’m new myself but channels like this really help. Keep creating. Don’t worry about views or likes. Just practice. You can only improve. Best of luck 👍🏻🇬🇧
Big Factz
Yeah, this is the first video that explained the need to overlap the clips to get a transition to work!
Me too!
I can't stress this enough: This video was SUPER helpful. Came up as the top 2 video results when I searched for how to add transitions in DaVinci Resolve 18. Will be coming back to your channel to learn more for sure.
Awesome, glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching! 😁👍
I just wanted to personally thank you for all your tutorials. You have made my first-time indie film journey so much easier!🎬
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching! Best of luck with the film!
Brother thank you so much. This is a massive help on my journey 🙏🏾
Very informative and explained several important details. Will revert to the video in the future for sure!
Glad it was helpful!
Love how energetic u are keeps me engaged all the way through
Thanks! Glad you like the video, thanks for watching!
Really useful video. Covered all the basics and some intermeediate stuff. This video made me feel confident in transitions. Thanks dude, I hope there´s more useful content like this in your channel.
You're welcome! I've got tons of videos like this one with lots of good info. 😜
The whole video is awesome, but the troubleshooting section is ABSOLUTE GOLD!
Thanks for that mate!
You're welcome! Glad it was helpful!
The tip for saving transition presets was legendary for me, it was more complicated before, this was gold!
Awesome, that’s great! 😁👍
Thank you for such a grate tips! You almost covered many essential things about transitions!👍
You're welcome!
Thank you! That cleared up some frustrations I've had using transitions. Now I know why I couldn't use or place them where I wanted. Super helpful video.
You’re welcome, thanks so much for watching!
2nd video in my editing Playlist ✨
Nice! 😎
Instantly subbed! I think I came to the right spot - I'm trying out DaVinci Resolve 18, and it had me so frustrated, since I'm used to simply add transitions without that ominous mandatory clips overlapping! Thank you so much! Now on to the next video, where I hopefully find out how to add audio tracks 😀
You’re Welcome! I’ve got lots of videos to help you along the way. If you have any questions, just drop a comment and I’ll try and help you out.
Simple and effective video, thank you!
thank you for this detailed video 👏👏
You’re welcome!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge, dude. It helped a lot !
OMG! I can't thank you enough, finally a video explaining in clear detail how to fix the "I cant stick the transition to the middle of the clips" problem! I have been having this issue for, well long enough, and for the life of me I didn't understand why. last year I found a video that sped through the how to but he was not clear at all so I just gave up, sometime times I would get it by mistake! after fiddling with it. and here you go showing us how to do it and I had no idea the answer would be in here! Thank you SOOO much !!
Awesome! Glad you got an answer you needed. 😁😁
You're the first I've found that explained why cuts wouldn't accept transitions and most importantly, why. I just started all this youtube stuff and wanted to get some shorts up as fast as possible so I started a series of shorts showcasing free video & audio while I learn how to use Davinci. Your help is appreciated.
Glad the video was helpful!
At first it was quite difficult to follow....but when I could (follow) it's great. Thank you!!!
Glad the video was helpful! Thanks for watching!
Liked - subscribed - and put this video in a playlist! Excellent reference when in need!
Awesome, thank you!
Hey Jason, glad to watch you again. I always learn a ton with each new video.
Thank you & have a great day.
Awesome, thank you for checking out the video! I know I've been a little slow getting videos out this summer. Been busy wrangling kiddos on summer break! 😜
Love your stuff bro. Always excited to learn something new.
Thanks man! 😁👍
One of the best vids I've seen. As stated "if it doesn't work try this" brilliant! Subscribed!
Great!
I’ve been using davinci for about 2 years now and I still consider myself a beginning but constantly improving and I can honestly say you did teach me something new about transitions that I tried time and time again to find solutions. Let’s go! Thank you Jason!
Awesome glad I could help!
Great video with tips even I can follow alongside you!
Awesome! Thank you!
As always, your video helped me a lot. Now I feel I have a better grasp on transitions, thanks to you.
Awesome, glad it was helpful!
Dude, what a banger!
I've been playing around with this program but I picked up so many tricks from your video and I'm only halfway through. Wish I could like this twice!
Thanks man! Glad you’re finding good info! I’ve got lots of other videos to help you along the way. 😜
One of the most important video editing and davinvi resolve clips I've seen. Reveals a lot, quickly.
Thanks for checking out the video!
Hey Jason! First to say I subscribed after the first Resolve Con, but I couldn't follow your style. Now for the last two days I'm watching the sht out of your videos and I find the pacing excellent!!! So this is like a milestone for me and shows my progress.. I really love your style and how much effort you are investing in these videos. The showdown of all the things we can do with Davinci in your own videos is excellent! That's pretty important and I appreciate the extra mile you go and invest time to really implement these though they might not be necessary, one would argue, in a tutorial like this. Really happy to have you here and can't wait to progress enough to dig into Fairlight.
One other thing I am happy for is, with this new wave of Davinci teachers, it is a blessing to know you OG's who are in this program for years. Thank you and all the Resolve Con Avengers! Greeting from Croatia!
Hey Man! Thanks for subscribing! I know my style isn't for everyone, but glad my videos have become more helpful! I do my best to give all the best info I can and help as many people as I can. 😜
Excellent and super helpful video Jason! Thank you so much for creating this!!! 💯
You’re welcome, glad it was helpful!
Excellent video Jay!!! I've had this issue with many of my clips and could not work out why for the life of me.. but now I know!! thanks heaps for the detailed explanation on why transitions can't be added to some clips and how to resolve it! Love your work man! Keep it up. 😃 Cheers Vlad.
Hey Vlad, thanks so much for your kind words and for checking out the video! Glad you know the fix for transitions I don’t wanna cooperate. 😜
Great explanation on the overlapping requirement, I was confused with a transition that I could apply only to one side. Thanks!!
Thanks! Glad you found the video helpful! Thanks for watching!
This is a brilliant introduction. Thank you so much!
Glad it was helpful!
OMG Dude this has been killing me for about a year now. Had no idea why my transitions would work in some areas but not the other. I was working on my RUclips videos, trying to make some shorts and I could not figure out how to make it look good without the transition. So your video was super helpful and honestly gave me even more helpful stuff than I could have asked for.
Awesome, glad the video was helpful.
"Hard enough as it is" an understatement. I've been an editor for decades, was on AVID for almost a decade, changing interface, licensing issues etc. I jumped to DaVinci. Sure Glad I did.
Editing is NOT my problem, but finding everything under the hood-and the magic that awaits!
You my friend are a blessing to all of us, newbie or not. Thank you for letting us look behind the curtain!
GREAT video as always.
Thanks Krissy! There’s so much to learn and resolve, I think it never ends. 😜😁👍
exactly I have worked with final cut pro for years and then I am totally baffled as to how to find timelines I saved now, its all about understanding this new program, If you have a minute I would appreciate some help finding my timelines I saved .. where did they go?
Brilliant as always...I got some great inspiration from this - cheers Jason 🙏🏻🤟
Thanks Gary! 😁👍

You're welcome!
Very informative video. Learnt a lot. Thank you very much.
Glad it was helpful!
Good video. Learned a lot. Yes, it is hard enough, but very powerful. I chose it before the surge to it began, but only now am I getting serious. Doing a documentary project for a friend and have no choice but to learn how to solve problems that come up. I’m learning to explore every drop down menu, but confess my memory is not that of a young man. You don’t like the cut page, but I have the Speed Editor. Do you use one? On the edit page? I’d like your insights.
You do vids well, keep it up. My first time.
Thanks! Welcome to my channel! I appreciate you checking out my vids!
New to DavVinci coming from Premiere Pro. I have to say amazing video!!!
Thanks! Welcome to Resolve!
Thank you so much! Your transition video is amazing! I’m new to Davinci, and was having fun adding transitions to my timeline until I tried to add one to a time lapse clip! Straight away you shed light on the problem! I’m going to subscribe! ❤
Also, I ran into a problem with the Fusion transitions. It let me use one, then a box popped up and informed me I would have to upgrade to the Studio version to continue using Fusion transitions. 😢
Glad the video was helpful! Studio is awesome, you should totally save up for it.
great video, thanks
You’re welcome!
Thank you, Sir for saving my sanity! I only look up for solutions if I can't figure it out myself, so your video helped me a lot and I've learnt a lot more in the process!
You're welcome!
This is mega informative and i thank you sir
My pleasure
