Kraig , there is another nice hike in Rio de Janeiro/ Minas Gerais.from the higher part of the Parque Nacional de Itatiaia down to Visconde de Mauá. I did it 48 years ago when I was 24. It is always a pleasure watching your videos.
Your videos literally inspired me to hike and backcountry camp alone! My short term goal is to hike the howe sound crest trail and wake up with a sea of mountains outside my tent as a core memory thanks to u 🙏

"best state in BR"? by whom? not even top 5. but the trekking itself is amazing (I did it last year), and Rio city is amazing (but please let's not start with the huge problems related to it - lived there for 5 years, glad I did it and glad I left).
Amazing that you've been here in Rio, such amazing landscapes, Brazil has great places for hikes, look into the Rio Grande do Sul area, the winter area of Brazil, very close to Argentina and Uruguay, I think you are going to like it!
