You have to change the dimension of the bigger hole from 76.2 to 63.5. There is an editing cut in the video that doesn't show that he changed the dimension. In 1:51 you can kind of see that the new dimension is 63.5. Like this comment for people to see it.
the second arc Dia is 63.50 mm, you can see it at 1:53 If you look close enough. And the (intentional) mistake propagates in piston rod cap which you can see at 7:17. If you miss them the first time, the assembly will not match and then you'll know it either way.
Hello I am a Mechanical Engineer currently practicing in my free time with Solidworks, I did my Senior Design Project with this software and I love it, great videos you have here. I was wondering if you had plans (or blueprints) to share so I can practice 3D drafting. Thanks a lot
Hello friend, do you have a 2D technical drawing of theese parts with all dimensioning, I would like to practice on my own and use your video as a backup help :)
there are quite some mistakes in this relatively easy assembly, the maker tried to correct some of these (in this video allready) but it does not make it much better. So pay attention while drawing the part where the pistonrod and cap meet. They should be exactly the same (if done correctly, the fault with the rectangle should also resolve itself automaticly). also some fillets do not realy add up in the final assembly. then again, nice toturial!
Hi, First of all thank you for this excellent video. But I found on 4:00 the Rectangle doesn't fit. Did you change the dimensions? Please share it! Thank you very much
I get this is probably for advanced users. This is a great tutorial however I find some of it to be quite jumpy and i have had to figure out, based on experience, what you are doing. A tutorial slightly slower with some written text/or at least some audio over the top would be beneficial to a lot of users it seems. Nice job though.
SolidWorks Tutorial ☺ But, if you make a radius equal to 76.2, the sidecut will go beyond this circle, and we can not do it. I mean sidecut, which we copy at 4:30
+SolidWorks Tutorial ☺ sir all of your videos are great!! btw, can I ask if the dimensions in all videos here in Engine Project is exact? If I follow all of these dimensions, will it perfectly fit in the Assembly part? If not, can I ask how to get the blueprint copy of this project? Hoping for the reply soon as possible cause I badly need one and I found these videos super helpful, thank you in advance sir!
Greetings, all your videos are so usefull thanks for all of them, I just want to give you an opinion about do a little slower parts where you pick an option to make any operation , because Im learning this software and i dont know all the commands, in all the left is everything ok, Bessings
I'll use your comment to help others. For anyone struggling with which commands are being invoked, pause the video, back up a bit and look just at the top of the browser-like command history on the left. The command will be shown there when active and recorded there lower down when the command is finished... For example, Fillet is picked repeatedly to finish the part. That will allow the user to come back and edit each fillet separately later if modifications are needed. Cheers.
One question sir,how can the center line be 150.40 in length, and the longer line of the rectangle is 176,and yet the center line is longer than the lenght of the rectangle. This appears in the beginning of the video.
i was doing this tutorial when 8:27 i realized i had been using inches instead of millimeters and that messed the hole* thing up. *see what i did there?
Hi, I'm new and I was wondering if the technical drawings of this projects are maybe available? I would love to try first by myself and use the videos just as a reference when having trouble.

your piston is really bad, a lot of dimensions no match in the assembly and you chance the dimensions of any diameters in the sketch and didnt mentions in the video

You should not change dimensions without warning, Rectangle on 4:00 doesn't fit.

Thanks, i have completed the tutorial.
on 1:25 diameter 76.2 It is not right , there is 63.5
Jhon Kreker 63.5mm is the original! But one them can be right depending on how crankshaft pattering direction was chosen.

The video is confusing.
You change the dimension without any notice.
Very unproffessional.

The piston is an ellipse due to thermal expansion, so it can't be drawn as a circle!!!

rectangle at 4:00 with no dimension and doesn't fit. People here have been asking the same question for 4 years and no answer.
You have to change the dimension of the bigger hole from 76.2 to 63.5. There is an editing cut in the video that doesn't show that he changed the dimension. In 1:51 you can kind of see that the new dimension is 63.5.
I like to fix your creo
the connection rod diameter is too large for the pin even at 63.5 the arm and pin need to be flush so there is no impact.

what is diminsion of first rectangle
The length of the first rectangle is not important. The important thing is that the centers of the circunferences are 152,40 apart.
