While my time in the Village is over I still have a few days left in PyeongChang before flying home to Vancouver. So the Olympic vlogs are not finished yet, they are just taking a plot twist and moving into a spectator and tourist, let me know if you have any suggestions of things to see while I have the time!
    AND
THANK YOU ALL FOR WATCHING AND SUBSCRIBING AND MAKING MY CHANNEL EXPLODE OVER THE LAST WEEK AND A HALF, YOU ARE ALL AMAZING!! LET'S KEEP IT MOVING :)

You should tour the DMZ Joint security Area, and the DMZ 3rd Tunnel. This is the most impacting experience for many tourists. If that's not enough, you should check out the Myong-Dong area, and the nearby Namdaemun Market. If you haven't yet, eat some korean Bibimbap, or Samgyetang. And eat some street food (my favorite is the Hotteok).

Carry all your luggages and go to Seoul by KTX which is the super fast train. It takes only 1 and half hours. Look around the major attraction places of Seoul including traditional markets and old palaces. Seoul is also much closer to your departure airport, Incheon International Airport.

Awesome video mate, thanks for posting it. That blanket on the bed is sweet, to bad you guys do not get to keep it. Why did you not stay till the closing of the games? Do they make you leave the Village if you are no longer competing? All the best man!

    • @roberhart
      @roberhart  6 лет назад +2

First of all, thank you so much!!! Second I think I would have been able to keep the blanket but I didn’t have any room in my luggage! And lastly, I had to leave the village when I did because another coach can use the accreditation and now that my events are done it makes more sense to have me leave and have a new coach come in. Sad but makes sense

If I were an Olympic organizer - I would let all athletes and coaches stay for the whole two weeks: opening ceremony to closing ceremony. Athletes, regardless if they are done with competition or not, can stay, eat and drink for free. Coaches, after their athlete's competition is over, can still stay in the village, but would have to purchase food and drink.
So, if any Olympic organizers would like to consult...let me know. Lol.

This.Is. Me. The best places for tourists are in Seoul, but if you want to go somewhere near where you're staying, I'd suggest Gangneung (the other city where Olympic games are held). Gangneung is known for some touristy places-- this link (www.trazy.com/experience/detail/gangneung-one-day-tour ) would give you some information about Gangneung 1 day tour. I'd highly suggest Joong-ang Traditional Market for food there. Here's a few RUclips videos related to Korean market food experience:
Brief RUclips video about the food at Gangneung Joongang Market- ruclips.net/video/6yIyUbB37Ak/видео.html
Foreigners' react to market street foods in Seoul- ruclips.net/video/M6Cybu7MAEY/видео.html
Also, there's Olympic Afternoon Live Party Live Show(2/19) at a bar in Gangneung hosted by Korean Englishman RUclips channel (m.ruclips.net/user/koreanenglishman ). Details are on its most recent post from its RUclips community tab. Entry is not guaranteed without invitation, but there may still be tickets available at the door.
Hope you have the best time in Korea! :)

I just found your channel, my last night. I went to bed and you posted this. ☹️ I'm in Europe. So I am a little earlier than those in the US. Will you still be at the Closing Ceremonies? On the Olympic App there are links to free tickets to concerts and thinks to do in the area. Not sure if there is really enough time to go down to Seoul.

Hey man. Thanks for the vlogs, an entirely different experience compared to what you see on TV. One question, if I may. Why do you have the Olympic village? Is it decided by the countries themselves? And why do athletes/trainers/staff leave early? I get that the weather is kinda terrible but if I ever got the chance to go, I'd want to stay until the closing ceremony

      dabrain23 Just for a moment, I thought dabrain23 is a Kor's journalist. .
You may heard about GiReGi/기레기 or may not_ this is a word for Kor's typical journalist who always tried so hard to write negative things or fake things about something. And this time the KiReKies tried so hard to make this Olympic as shady as they could.
They are seeking for negative things to scratch our president Moon and his team. Cause of that_ we could not watch very much of the real real actual Olympic.
Not all of Koreans could made up to PC city to watch Olympic games. And your realistic videos showed a lot of actual olympic to us. I enjoyed to watch this Olympic with your video. It puts more detail & fin things.
Thank you so much. I will keep subscribe you channel✨ Thanks a lot🎉🕊

So is your contract coaching for the Aussie Olympic team expired by now or keep coaching them for the next Beijing Olympic? Are you going to keep updating your normal life on this channel even after you get back to Vancouver?

You may want to visit Seoul, the capital city of Korea. I would like to recommend you to visit historical sites in Gangbuk area and enjoy nightlife in Gangnam or Cheongdam area. Since you gained lots of followers from Olympics held in Korea, it would be nice for you to wander around in Seoul street and feel great vibes of Seoul. Moreover, Seoul is one of the safest cities in the world. You might run into people while you are walking on the street; but walking on the street and having a chance to make some friends will result in promoting your channel in South Korea.
