Just an FYI…It’s not the same Mia. The Mia here is Mia Pfirrman. Mia Mor is on backup for Sabrina Carpenter’s TD. Their names are listed in the credits for each respective performance.
I never ever get bored of watching people discover Chappell for the first time. She is just at the top of her game in every aspect of her artistry. I love her so much!
The bits between songs are fun, but something I didn't notice at first is that she's giving time for her band to retune for the next song. That's a performer for you.
9:07 Chappell left the wig & tiara she's wearing in this performance. You can see it in several Tiny Desk concerts after this one, top shelf, about where the bass player is here. They have it on a skull that's also wearing a DEVO hat.
Ohh cant wait for you to discover more from her aside from debut album, her new song “Good Luck, Babe!” is nominated for SOTY and ROTY in Grammys. Her Jimmy Fallon and VMAs perf of it are unforgettable. Her live performances are truly enchanting. Thank you for your wonderful reaction. You’re so eloquent in your explanations. Gained a sub! ❤
Really enjoyed your review and energy, your channel deserves to be successful. Good luck finding Chappell's genre. She really mixes is up with stated influence from Alanis, Heart and Stevie Nicks. Most of her songs are very 80s coded and I'm here for it 😀
Welcome Love!!! I'm working on a way where I can react to Albums and not get told off by YT Copyright :) Bare with ahah (Looking to launch a patreon next year/next week lol to maybe get around this so ... hold tight ;) )
I had her tiny desk get the algorithms attention earlier this year and sat on it because I was reluctant to listen because I thought it would be cheezy pop. Summer I gave it a try and fell in love with her music listening to her album end to end multiple times and often daily even today. It is very specifically not made for me as a demographic but can't help how her ability to vocally shape shift is stunning and reminiscent as a child of the 80's and 90's. Great stuff! 2024 has been a year of discovering new music: Marias, Lola Young, Clairo, Pacifica, Warning and so much more.
Yea I appriciate that it was more of a comment on the rebelious nod with punk especially in the UK thinking more Sex pistols and Viv Westwood - the Punk culture is awesome though! Sundays in Camdem Market is very that :D
Not a criticism, you have a really nice comfortable presence. Just some unsolicited feedback: try to find good spots to pause and talk vs talking over the song so much. If someone hasn't heard the song before, they are going to want to hear it all.
Chappel has a lovely voice, and the songs have catchy melodies. It was a fun listen and had me toe tapping. I especially love the strings, but a 10? I have to disagree. The music is poppy, but there's nothing magical or extremely different than everything else out there. It's just nice.
I agree with your viewpoints! I think music and our preferences are based on our mindset, time of life etc. where I’m at, I LOVED Billies Tiny Desk (what this video was compared too) I think familiarity helps with my sway to Billie. But I love and appreciate when people want me to watch and listen to their favs it makes me feel so invited into their world, so welcomed!
@@linac3246 was discussing this with someone the other day. She is being lauded as the musical 2nd coming in some quarters which I know has some folks riled. I totally agree musically there is absolutely nothing new…I hear a myriad of stuff in her sound such as Gaga, Bowie, Cyndi Lauper, even T Rex and of course Madonna. What she has done though is take those influences and hone and polish them to absolute pop perfection.
Wow! Another great reaction! Thanks for squeezing this in and the shoutout on me recommending this for Mia’s backing vocals.
Just an FYI…It’s not the same Mia. The Mia here is Mia Pfirrman. Mia Mor is on backup for Sabrina Carpenter’s TD. Their names are listed in the credits for each respective performance.
@ it’s the same person, she goes by two different names. I assume Phirrman is her real name and Mia Mor (like Mi Amore) is her professional name.
I never ever get bored of watching people discover Chappell for the first time. She is just at the top of her game in every aspect of her artistry. I love her so much!
That’s more to discover I’ll document in sure 🤗🤗
Her album has no skips and will make you feel even more like a main character! Thanks for the reaction
No skips!? 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽Loveee
@@SantarnaMusic I very very rarely say an album genuinely has no skips, but I agree! It’s incredible to think it’s only her debut album
Her whole album the rise and fall of the Midwest princess is a must thank you! ❤
It’s on my Spotify saves!!
It’s a no skip album for real
The bits between songs are fun, but something I didn't notice at first is that she's giving time for her band to retune for the next song. That's a performer for you.
The inbetweens where so cute! hahah - Defo True Performer!
She’s just that girl you have to watch her perform good luck babe on jimmy fallon 💕 iconic
I’ll check her out, happy she’s on my radar now!
This tiny desk was my into to Chappell, and still my favorite performance. I've lost track of the times I've watched it.

Lovely reaction and thank you for sharing!

You are just the sweetest 🥰🥰🥰🥰 xxx
Her performance of California and the ending of Red Wine Supernova always get me😭😭
That Tiny Desk Ending had me SOLD!!! 🤗🤗
oh you’ll love the album, these aren’t even her most main character energy songs. i haven’t been this obsessed with an album in years.
Ouuu this! I haven’t had the same feeling about an album in years too!! 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

This has truly made me day thank you so much 🥹🥹🥹
Whilst I love the album and the production of it her vocals and energy really come alive when she performs live. That band is so tight as well.
Theres something about a live performance that just captivates me!
Welcome to the club ❤
As I always say I'm super proud of my fellow Missourian and Midwest Princess Chappell Roan!! Nice reaction my friend!☺️❤️
Thank you so much 🤗🤗🤗 Was a great performance
Chappell left that wig.

Absolutlely! 🤩

Aww I’m so glad 🥰🥰 Happy Holidays x
YESSSSS
YAAAAA
9:20 Chappell left the wig.
Ill check em on other performances! I love this fact!
Yes her and Amy winehouse are literally 2 of my favorite artists lol 💕
Haha Nailed it! 🤗
You can’t genre-ize her. That’s why I’m obsessed. If I had to wildly guess it’s renaissance -pop
Ouuuu Renaissance-Pop, I like that!
My dear sister punk is pretty simple, you dont need to do hard songs or something like this.

If you haven't heard the song listen to it yourself, this isn't a pirated copy of the song it's a reaction video.
