Roomie has a "thin" Americanized Swedish accent, which can sound similar to a Canadian or Midwestern (North Dakota, Minnesota) accent, as those areas are heavily influenced by Scandinavian immigrants.
As a Canadian I can assure you we are not heavily influenced by Scandinavian. We are actually heavily influenced by the british and french. We have the queen on all of our bills and coins.
I am an American that lives close to Canada, and I have never heard an American or a Canadian get offended by people not being able to tell the difference in their accents. Haha. Most Americans can't even tell when an actor or musician is from Canada....
To be fair though, most "actors" and "musicians" sound American when they speak as it's sort of the accent of Hollywood. Most of them end up living in LA or New York and I'm sure they lose a lot of their regionalisms as a result. Combined with the fact that almost everyone puts on an American accent when they sing and simulate American accents in film and TV roles, we rarely ever get to hear anyone speak in their natural accent.
1:30 O.B.Mike - America loves our brothers to the North. Dave and Daz acted like you committed some sort of crime, but no normal American would be offended. You're fine. (Also, most Americans can't hear a difference in Canadian accents either (it just sounds like some of our most northern states) until they say the words "about" or "sorry," then it is "Oh!? You're from Canada??!" [I am pretty good with accents, certainly with American accents, and can usually tell pretty close to where someone is from. I don't know this RUclipsr, but I too thought he had some unusual accent (not American), the way he pronounces his "F"s ("I FiNally FouNd the time") and the way he carefully enunciated each word. A little check and it seems that Joel from Roomie is from Sweden. His English is great, obviously! But yah, he is from Sweden.] Joel Gustaf Berghult (32) from Gothenburg, Sweden.
Just thinking about how Mike Posner literally says in that song "my names a reminder of a pop song people forgot", and when they saw his name they knew it but couldn't remember the song
Here's the issue with the American/Canadien sounding the same thing. All Americans sound different lol. We have more accents and regional vernacular than anywhere.
It is possible that taking on a particular facial expression may mentally help one to get into character of what they are mimicking and trick their brain into being another character they are playing. Also possibly it may physically alter one’s voice into what they are imitating.
Each state basically has its own accent here in the United (not so united) States, especially Southern states.. being from South Carolina, I can tell if someone has a Tennessee accent, Alabama accent, Georgia accent, Louisianna accent.. you can also really hear other accents as well, but I don't meet a whole lot of Northerners or West Coast people down here, they're around and once they talk to you .. you can usually tell right away, especially people from New York or New Jersey or somewhere like that. Now don't get me wrong, accents can sound exact or very similar from state to state.. it just depends.
Please do Black Gryphon 1 Guy 54 voices it's amazing, him, and Roomie make fun of each other, its like a battle, but really not...Black Gryphon is way better in my opinion, he makes you laugh, and he also does a lot of impersonations of characters in his other videos
You can tell the difference between Canadians and Americans with two techniques: Sorry (Canadians say sore-ry and Americans Sar-ry) and any word with the pro- prefix (project, process, etc..) Canadians will always say pro with a long O. Americans will use an ah sound. That said, there are a lot Americans up North that veer into the Canadian accent and a lot of famous Canadians who've lived in America so long you'd never know. I'd be more suspicious by someone convinced they can always tell than someone admitting they can't tell the difference at all. Or just check for metric use. Temp or speeds and distances.
Can you please react to azzerz voice impressions in rap songs. It’s so unique & he can do them pretty well. It’s the one with Cleveland brown as the thumb nail.
If you guys want more basketball content to react to Id suggest watching “The San Antonio Spurs Beautiful Game” it’s about one of the greatest team oriented championships in NBA history and Team oriented player Tim Duncan who’s one of the greatest players of all time.
Wow, so he's Swedish? I'm American and I thought he sounded American too (but it also takes me a while to tell when someone is Canadian or just from Minnesota) Confusing Americans and Canadians isn't offensive anyway lol
Roomie is from Sweden, he’s also known as “the other* Swedish RUclipsr”. The main one people know being, of course, Pewdiepie

Half of Canada sounds like the stereotype, the rest of us know how to pronounce "about" correctly.
Don't ruin it.

Most Americans..... where are you getting that info? Canadians and Americans sound distinctly different and it's pretty easy to differentiate.
Not to mention how many different accents there are in the US itself. There are some people from my own state I don't understand 😅.
I'm pretty sure that Roomie is Swedish.
