That's right. One wanted to say that what they did to Kavanaugh has never been done before. But obviously they did it to Clarence Thomas as well, a man who studied in seminary. And who is as innocent as Kavanaugh.
This poor man is caught in the crossfire between democrats and republicans. This is a genuine family man. Not only are they trying to destroy this man's character, but the character of his entire family , including his mother, his father, his wife, his daughters - even his friends. This is not much different than a mob hit. Forget whether he is conservative or a liberal, or anything in between. He is just a man. A man, in opinion, who grew up with strong family values that are far more important than taking advantage of a young girl at a party. I doubt he would risk ruining the name of his entire family for such an action. How can anyone honestly believe in their heart that this man is guilty of this accusation after listening to this? I find it incomprehensible, and I'm not even political by ANY means.
That's hilarious. Kavanaugh has been a GOP operative for decades, throughout his entire career. By no means is he the impartial, nonpartisan, fair-minded judge he attempts to paint himself to be. He lied under oath numerous times during his testimony, and was beligerent and evasive under questioning. If you sincerely believe he's just some innocent victim in this, despite the credible allegations from Dr. Blasey-Ford, you are deluding yourself to think there are no political implications to your own opinion on this

Dr. Ford's allegations and testimony are _at least_ as credible as Kavanaugh's denials and equivocations, and therefore don't deserve to be dismissed out of hand. But it's Kavanaugh's character that makes me question his motives and the veracity of his testimony.
Dr. Ford had everything to lose, and very little to gain (not seeing her abuser on the Supreme Court for the rest of her life)

I feel terrible for Ford, and I do believe that she went through something. But I believe that this had nothing to do with Brett Kavanaugh. He is a good man, with an incredible and unbiased leadership. He is innocent and I am so sorry that the left wing party would be so manipulative. It’s just sick what people have done to him and his family. His wife and daughters have received death and rape threats all with no evidence of any crime whatsoever. This man is one of the best nominees with one of the most impressive careers in the law and public service with the respect of colleagues from all ends of political and ideological leanings. He truly cares about the rule of law and the integrity of our constitution as well as the freedoms it guarantees, that men and women have literally given their lives to protect over the years. What happened to innocent until proven guilty? it is been a long time now that it seems that this country automatically think somebody is guilty just because somebody famous says so or because some newscaster says so yet nobody has any proof.
If everything that we have done in high school and college dictates what we can and can't do for a career then all of us should look back to see what we have done during those years and if we deserve the job that we have now.
If all politicians are supposed to be perfect and the ideal student in order to be in politics then I am positive 90% of the politicians would be on the street without a job.
It does not matter to me what anybody's political beliefs are. I listened to this man as well as the other excerpts and I believe Kavanaugh. I also understand his stress and shock driving his emotions while he made his opening statement.
FIRST I have to ask everyone if they have ever been accused of something that they find horrific and sickening?
SECOND, I am a survivor of rape. I was 11 years old and a friend of my family had a son that was 20 and he raped me. I have never said this in a public forum but I say it today. I say it because I believe Kavanaugh is innocent of rape.
THIRD I also understand what it is like to be accused of something that you are innocent of and how that accusation can be so horrific and sickening to you that when you speak it comes out so incredibly emotional you have to fight not to fall apart. In addition to that he's having to deal with "journalist" and anybody else that wants to get a "story" so they can put a notch in their belt for whatever reason they feel they need. Then his family is suffering because all this as well.
I also believe that Ms Ford was definitely held back just in case all the other things failed to keep Kavanaugh out.
The reason why I asked those questions and shared my own personal experience and view is because I was accused of being something horrific and sickening. I was accused of being a racist in my workplace. I was a manager of a industry that is mostly male. Even though the company I worked with had a zero tolerance policy they ignored my repetitive complaints of sexual harassment by one specific individual went unaddressed even though the 3 witnesses on 3 different occasions asked me when I was going to report the sexual harassment. Since it is a privately owned company they pretty much can get away with it because all upper management had been together for a long time and protected each other knowing that one day they may need the same favor for themselves. Especially HR since they knew I was a single mother raising a son that had aspirations to go to college, which he did go, the head of HR knew I would not quit my job because I was a single mother and the only source of income. In addition the head of HR was female disliked me because she blamed me for one of her friends being asked to step down. I had nothing to do with that issue but to HR it looked like it and that was enough for her. She truly wanted revenge and only after years of thinking about the whole ordeal I could finally see what the truth was.

I was accused of being a racist at my workplace. She was a young African-American girl who is very bright and also very naive. There was a person that was a fraud in the department that I managed. Her work cost the company millions of dollars and there was nobody to oversee that until I was hired. That individual knew that her days were numbered once it was clear to me as well to her, that I knew the truth and had proof. Sadly she convinced this young, naive girl that I (ironically) hired on a permanent basis from a temporary agency, that I was lying and after her job because of female jealousy. That young African American Girl also said that she would play "the black card" if she could get me fired in revenge for her friend that was a fraud. The fraud was a very beautiful woman but she had issues about getting older and I was/looked much younger and I was her boss and she wanted me out so she could continue making $250,000 plus a year all the while costing the company millions of dollars because of her mistakes.
The company I worked for had a zero tolerance policy. I was a single mother raising a teenage son and I am from a MULTICULTURAL family. I am Asian, European, African American and American Indian among others. I had never been a racist nor did I see sex, color, religion etc. To have been accused of being a racist was SHOCKING and SICKENING to me.
On top of everything else I would never jeopardize my job and my son's disability to have an opinion about something. I am too responsible to do such a thing.
My mother is Japanese although she looks Korean. Unfortunately even in Southern California many people do not know the difference of the different Asian cultures and what they look like. I have had to defend my mother, physically, from being accosted when there was the Korean-African American riots in L.A. and on several other occasions during that time.
My mother and I walked to the grocery store and as we crossed the street a man tried to run over my mother while calling her horrific names. He just judged her and had no idea that she was Japanese, lived through World War II, became an American Citizen, married a Marine that did three tours in Vietnam for his country and she was a mother of two daughters, one of which had died because of spinal meningitis that my sister caught in the hospital and was misdiagnosed. My sister was one of 10 newborn children died of spinal meningitis. When my sister died my life was turned upside down as well as my parents life. Their marriage almost broke up but in time they got back together and their bond was greater than ever.
I share these personal details in order for you and other people to understand what it is like to be accused of something that you did not do as well as being a victim of that very thing you were accused of...I do not feel that political affiliation SHOULD be an issue and valid in any way in this topic of Mr Kavanaugh. As Kavanaugh said from the beginning Dr. Ford and her story came out in a very timely manner and that was no accident. It is things like this, regardless of what your political beliefs are, it makes me embarrassed to be an American.
as I stated before I am a survivor of rape. I am getting sick and tired of women popping up and accusing men of sexual harassment and rate just because they're going to get money or are doing it for a different political reason regardless if it is the truth or not. I do not mean that all women that claim to have been assaulted are liars. What I am saying is that it is now become a popular thing to do regardless if it is true or not.
Why did Monica Lewinsky keep the blue dress? I doubt it was for sentimental reasons but at least she had some kind of proof of something but she didn't claim rape! Under what circumstances (rape?no?) did that dress get "DNA on it?

I agree. As one of the funniest. Supposedly one of the top judges in America crying and sniffling all through his statement. There's me thinking a cool demeanour may be a good quality to have as a judge. He boasts about himself and he just can't understand why anyone wouldn't like him. If u check the news, two accusers not Ford, have just admitted and are criminally charged of being paid and lying about Kavanaugh. Check the Washington Times. 36 years ago , this woman comes out and makes allegations when she can’t corroborate anything . All she remembers she had one beer and it was Kavanaugh. Not good enough !!! If it were true, why aren’t Democrats running on it ??? They should run on the fact that this alleged sexual predator is on the SCOTUS. No one with half a brain buys into it
