I like that it comes with all of those color gels. One thing I noticed it seems when the is at the lowest setting it has a red tone to it and when you go to the second brightness level it cleans up and looks like white light.
Yeah the gels are pretty neat!! I don't think the red tone was there because of the light, I think it was there because the Gopro was at the lowest ISO setting(100) and maybe it was hard for the Gopro to get the white balance correcrly.. Once I switched to the 2nd brightness setting it was much easier for the gopro to get the white balance correctly since it was properly exposed.. Maybe I'm wrong but you know what, Ill test it out again today... But this time I'll put a higher ISO on the gopro and I'll let you know if the red one is still there! Thanks anyways Larry!
So i tested out the light again with my gopro. But this time i upped my ISO to 200-400 and with this ISO setting the light doesn't introduce any red tone to the picture. Like i was thinking it was just a bit hard for the GoPro to catch the proper white balance with an unexposed picture(ISO100).
Hi Roma. Would you say that this is DEFINITELY a better option than the GoPro Light Mod since the latter's compact and portable size it what makes it attractive. Thank you.
I don’t know if it’s a better option than the GoPro Light Mod, because I’ve never used the Light Mod. But I’m sure the Light Mod will have better build quality and overall better light quality.
@@Romafedorov Thanks!!! Been watching much of your reviews of Ulanzi products lately including GP10 Tripod-Grips and Cages. I do believe that the L1 Pro emits higher lumens than the Light Mod (only 125 lumens continuous because its 200 lumens capacity is limited to 30-seconds at a time).
Hi Roma! Can you do a comparision between the Ulanzi L1 PRO Waterproof LED Light and the Ulanzi VL49 RGB Light please? I would really appreciate it! Thanks a lot!
I wanted to take photos with my phone that the lighting would look like a disposable camera. I wanted to be crazy cheap and I also that I can use it as a flashlight (so I can have it with me even if not for taking photos, and still be useful for me) But I wanted to know if it makes a big difference between the L1 and just a phones flash? Thanks you and nice review/video.
This question is probably out of your element but, would you recommend the Ulanzi L1 Pro LED cube light for macro photography? I am looking for something that will light my subject with different colors. Thanks in advance.
Can you mount the light straight on the gopro? Im talking esapecially when snorkling.. because i'm not sur weither you can snorkle with the case or not..
does the light hurt eyes ? if im holding gopro + this light, and i shoot my wife with this, will my wife eyes hurt ? and can you recommend the distance for safety at lvl 1/2/3/4 thank you, i hope you will answer my question.
I guess it’ll hurt the eyes if you’re going to use the light in it’s brightest setting. I don’t have the light anymore so I can’t tell you for certain which setting of brightness would be the most suitable for your wife, but I would suggest to get a light that has some sort of diffusion to make the light as soft as possible. The Ulanzi L1 light does come with a diffusion gel, but I’m not sure if it’s going to be enough..
Ulanzi L1 is junk.........I bought one and it worked for 1 day, you didn"t show everyone the lousy on/off button. My battery life was 20 minutes on day 1.........zero on day 2, won't charge.

1:33 Amazon says the battery life is 80 minutes on the brightest setting.

There is a noticeable difference between the L1 and a phone flash. The L1 light is much brighter..
I've read many comments on amazon that battery doesn't last more than a few minutes, is that true?
I just got mine and it doesnt turn on right out the box ! Should I charge it first or should it at least turn on?
Just got my you Lindsay how long do you charge it out of the box how do you know when it's fully charged?
merci mec 👍👍

No I wouldn’t recommend this light for macro photography, it’s not powerful enough for that in my opinion..
@@Romafedorov Okay, thank you for your opinion and quick reply. :-)
Would you recommend this for filming skatelines or still fish eye shots for skate sessions ??
Not as a main light, I reckon it’s a bit too small for that...
Great review! Thanks for looking into this light for us!
Can you mount the light straight on the gopro? Im talking esapecially when snorkling.. because i'm not sur weither you can snorkle with the case or not..
Gopro 7 silver*
Cant mount it straight on the GoPro, you’ll need some sort of a case with a cold shoe mount..
Ok thanks. And do you know if the Ulanzi cage is waterproof ?
Can i adjust it with gopro regular case provided by gopro, i mean without ulanzi vlog case???
No, you need a case that has a cold shoe mount..
@@Romafedorov Is there any way to add cold shoe mount in regular case?
@@AdventureLoversBD don’t think so, but why not buy a cheap 5-10$ case with a cold shoe?
why do you look like with a red filter at lower setting?
Which mic are you using here? Also do you use a right angle adapter for that mic?
Which mic I’m using with my GoPro or in the video in general ?
@@Romafedorov The small one on your gopro
@@ElGringoSam This was the Edutige ETM-001, and i was using it just as it is plugged to the GoPro microphone adapter..

Well it sounds great, I'll have to pick one up. Thanks for the quick response man!
It says on ebay the battery life is 80m on full power
Amazingly informative, thanks a lot!
Excellent review, thank you.
Thanks for watching!
What's your camera setting for testing this?
4k, 24 fps, Shutter Auto, White Balance Auto, ISO min 100, ISO Max 100, Color Flat, Sharpness Medium, FOV wide.
Hope that helps..
