  • A new liquified natural gas deal between Turkiye and Exxonmobil is on the horizon as the country looks to diversify its energy imports. Relations between Ankara and Washington have seen significant improvements recently, and now that rapprochement may be spilling over into energy interests. But what effect would this Exxonmobil deal have on Turkyie's overall energy ambitions and its relations with its current main supplier Russia?

That will cover 30% of annual needs when fully developed. You still need to find or manage the remaining 70% which could be a mix of Russian, Azri, Iranian, Qatri, and now US LNG. Good diversification strategy.

It's called diversifying, Türkiye has many doors open, don't worry, the Black Sea gas pipes are up and running. Also, Türkiye found quality oil in the Gabar region where US financed PKK terrorists were holding ground, the terrorists are gone and the Turkish gendarmes and rangers are securing the area.

First the overpriced F-16 ripp off deal, now the expensive LNG. Does turkey pays tribute to the u.s.a. to be hopefully excepted as the "good boy"?
On the other hand turkey hadn't done any actions against the genocide in Gaza, despite the "big words" of the government. Contrary...they even forbid many demonstrations against the genocide, as long they were not organized by the government or their family members.
Now turkey throws billions of low income tax payers money for unnecessary deals to satisfy the u.s.a.

I wonder if you listen to the whole segment, you are quite wrong about your assessment on the US LNG deal, Türkiye is already buying that amount but now it will be buying it in a different manner, it's like managing a gas portfolio, great for Türkiye to diversify
