I didn't realize we didn't "know" Wanda Maximoff was Scarlet Witch until it was "revealed" in the show. I was confused when they said something about her not having an alias earlier in the show.
@Mar Vert Neyra well not technically- if you're a person (like me before wandavision shh) who doesn't read the comics or watch theories/marvel videos, the average mcu watcher wouldn't know that she's the Scarlet Witch.

We know through Agatha that Salem did have witches so Dottie could either be a survivor of the coven like Agatha or a descendant who is unaware of her magical abilities
It's probably just a reference to the real life Sarah but the door is still open for more if they one day want to bring the actress back.

Well MJ's name in the comics and the other past movies stood for "Mary Jane" but not only did marvel change her skin color and hair but they now changed her name to "Michelle Jones" so they could just be trying to change things up a bit

Ngl, it was pretty weird that they emphasized Dottie on E2, only for her to be a normal person (like how Fake Pietro was also just one of the townspeople, or at least for now).
She was a diversion for the audience imo
I think that you might really be on to something. It's worth noting that in the final episode, Dottie's real name is revealed to be Sarah Proctor: The Proctor family (which includes their daughter Sarah, who may or may not be the same Sarah we have here) was accused of witchcraft during the Salem witch trials. It's definitely an interesting choice of name that seems far from a coincidence that I think deserves an explanation.

I absolutely agree with your pov and Matt's because first of all, We all see Dottie or Sarah's power comes to yellow color which it was shown through the flowers and last episode when Argatha tries to cut the mind controlling trick of Wanda. We can say it's possible one of Dottie's power because MARVEL never never put anything extra that has Nothing to do with the universe. We'll come to Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness, It's possible the Movie of Witches where we'll all see Doctor Strange, Wanda, Wiccan n Speed, Agatha (ofcourse cuz she said Wanda'd need her), and... Dottie, more...
Also Marvel always Does great job on Casting because them ore attracting the person looks, The more important role they have so I think this series just Planted a Seed for Dottie, just like Tommy n Billy

I feel like everyone here is overlooking something. Despite episode 9, I still think that Dottie is still a witch. In the Spanish dub of the credits in episode 9, Dottie's real name is shown to be Sarah Proctor. Sarah Proctor was real woman who was accused of witchcraft during the Salem Witch Trials
Idk. She kinda feels like a throwaway but at the same time it feels like she’ll be important in movies to come. Maybe she tries to get revenge on Wanda or gains powers or was a witch the whole time but not inherently one that threatened Wanda.

@@agustinbaletti bruh you’re digging too deep into this. What’s more important than having mega big twists is having a cohesive story with well written characters. It wouldn’t make narrative sense for Dottie, a very minor character, to appear as a big Bad later on in the MCU. It also doesn’t make sense that Wanda, who was shown to be extremely powerful wouldn’t be able to mindwash a witch who cannot perform any magic.

I mean if you want to try and go in that direction though Wanda always had her powers in her but the movies have affirmed time and time again that the mind stone is what helped bring out her powers fully. So if you want to talk about Wanda's magic signifying something they quite literally were activated by the powers of the mind stone. Also she didn't really create a whole new reality she simply put that town in a space that she can manipulate freely, it was still very much apart of our reality though.

You know when I saw the whole Agatha's color is purple I immediately thought of purple guy
This theory about the third witch could definitely be true because if you go back to the end of episode 7 before agathas iconic song you see agatha use her magic on wanda and you see purple magic surround Wanda's head before it shows the song' but fast forward to episode 9 when agatha breaks the mind control of the citizens of Westview to mess with wanda. While its breaking you can see that they all have a yellow glow around their heads before the mind control is broken. Even though it was explicitly shown that when Agatha uses her powers on the mind her magic is still purple. So why all of a sudden is it yellow in the finale? Its because its actually Dottie/Sara who is breaking the mind control instead of Agatha and Dottie is trying to deflect the attention off herself by talking about her daughter when talking to Wanda. Each witch is has a specific color scheme like the theory states wanda wears red, her roses are red, and she has red hair, so her magic is red. Agatha is seen in purple, her flowers are purple, so her magic is purple. Dottie/Sarah when ever we see her in color she is wearing yellow, she a blonde, so if its true, then she would have yellow magic like we see, even if it seems like it was Agatha who broke the mind control. Not to mention that her real name outside of the Hex is Sarah Proctor who was accused of being a witch during the Salem witch trials.
When you listen to his exact wording in interview, it sounds a lot like Bettany was trolling and was actually talking about himself, as S.W.O.R.D’s rebuilt vision.

She is clearly at least a reference to a real life person accused of being a witch, whether or not it was a red herring or something to be revealed in the future remains to be seen. She could easily have been another witch who showed up to see what the heck was going on and simply decided to stay out of the mess for the time being.
