I really appreciate that Kristina mentioned that the paint produced by mixing Perfect Pearls with water will dry to a permanent finish, like an acrylic paint, and doesn't rewet as watercolours do. I wouldn't use my nice watercolour brushes with Perfect Pearls in case of any accidents with paint drying on the brushes. Delicate watercolour brushes may never be quite the same again after having a dried acrylic-like paint cleaned off them. Also appreciated the mention that in spite of the product marketing information, simply brushing the powder on a wet/sticky ink, even the perfect medium, does not result in a surface that can withstand handling--it still needs a fixative spray. Probably best to stick to mixing it in small amounts with water, remembering it won't rewet once dry, and using tough acrylic brushes with it.
Kristina, love the card, it's simple but beautiful. It was good to see you using some of the old tried and true materials that we all have in the back of a craft drawer..
I love this - I did some water colour using perfect pearls recently combined with foiling using my minc machine on black cardstock. I used the final project as part of a Mother's Day gift.
+pikeandike if you click on my name it is on my channel. I printed a downloadable colouring page using a toner printer and added foil with the minc machine
Thank you for sharing. A beautiful card with lots of shimmer. I was actually looking at the clear pad from Simon Says, and Perfect Pearls. So great timing as I try to figure out what I want to order next time. :)
BEAUTIFUL card! I Really enjoyed your tutorial. You spoke clearly, explained product & techniques Very well ( what worked the best & why etc.,.) and you didn’t go on & on about things ppl don’t care about at this time. I have liked & saved this tutorial. I also subscribed. Thank you!♥️
lovely card kristina. i usually put the pearl powders into water sprayer so it gives out the faint pearlized effect on water when sprayed or when added to watercolors.
why did I never think of this??? Beautiful!! By the way when I use my Perfect Pearls over my clear inks I lightly mist the finished design with some plain water, goes a long way in making it more permanent.
What a fab card,...love the perfect pearls on black card.. Could you please tell me what would you use an a binder for the other mica powders. Dawn from the UK
love the perfect pearls mixes with water & used to paint and flowers on the black cards stock!! Thank you for the additional use besides spraying/misting card stock!!
Another stunning card Kristina! What is the difference is between Perfect Pearls and Pearl-Ex? I have a tonne of colours of Pearl-Ex from years ago and I love using it. The best and cheapest way to seal it so it does not rub off is a light spritz of hair spray that I buy from the Dollar Store. It works perfectly. Also, I keep a short straw in my desk that I cut on an angle to use as a small spoon for it. That allows me to scoop small amounts as needed!
So so pretty! Kristina, I do have Pearl Ex - what should I use as a binder to try this technique? I need to break them out again - I've only used them dry with Versamark in the past.
You can use gum arabic (a liquid), found in any art supply store. I got mine at Michael's, in their paint (art-type) department. It would be with art mediums, like varnish, matte medium, gesso, etc.
Lovely and so much fun to use Perfect Pearls. Thank you for your tutorial. Sometimes if I use dry PP, I use a very fine mist of water over when done and let dry. It seems to help a bit to hold it to the paper ♥ Love love!!!
Question....would Perfect Pastels work for this as well? Saw them on your site and was wondering if they have the binding agent in them like the loose powders?
Very pretty effects! You can reactivate the left-over mix in your palette - I do it all the time, because it's practically impossible to mix the right amount for the project. Don't wash it down the sink! 😃
Beautiful card Kristina! I have PearlEx powders, you mentioned adding a binder. I'm fairly new to card making and wondered if you could clarify this recommendation. Thank You.
If you mix in a bit of gum arabic and water, that should do the trick. Gum arabic is a binder in watercolor paints. You should be able to find it as an additive (in a bottle) in any art supply store. I found some at Michael's in their art paint department. Gum arabic is a liquid, btw, not gum. :) Hope this helps you!
Wow, I never would have thought to use Perfect Pearls for painting images...gorgeous card Kristina! TFS
Excellent video and information on how to use Perfect Pearls. Lovely card. Thank you Kristina.

Beautiful card Kristina :)
Beautiful card! I have Pearl-EX. What kind of binder must I add to do what you did with this card, please?

You can also set it by spraying a clear sealer or even hair spray over the Perfect Pearls when you use them dry.
just beautiful Kristina...love it
Very beautiful.THANK YOU

how do you reactivate the left over mix?
Just drip water into the dried pearl, and that will wake it back up. I use a water brush, it's easier to control, I find. 😀
@@floradiamonds Thanks so much, I just ordered some and can't wait to use them
I hope you enjoy them.
@@floradiamonds thank you
Hey Kristina, I was just wondering what kind of binder would you use with Pearl Ex? I have quit a bit of it but I never now how I can use it.
A crafter said to use powered Arabic gum.
Simple and Sweet!
I was just going to give away my Perfect Pearls, and now I have a new technique to try. Thank you (I think)! :)
So pretty
I love perfect pearls!!!! Very pretty card :)
