  • DemocracyNow.org - In his first television interview since he resigned from the National Security Agency over the its domestic surveillance program, William Binney discusses the NSA's massive power to spy on Americans and why the FBI raided his home after he became a whistleblower. Binney was a key source for investigative journalist James Bamford's recent exposé in Wired Magazine about how the NSA is quietly building the largest spy center in the country in Bluffdale, Utah. The Utah spy center will contain near-bottomless databases to store all forms of communication collected by the agency including private emails, cell phone calls and Google searches and other personal data.
    Binney served in the NSA for over 30 years, including a time as technical director of the NSA's World Geopolitical and Military Analysis Reporting Group. Since retiring from the NSA in 2001 he has warned that the NSA's data-mining program has become so vast that it could "create an Orwellian state." Today marks the first time Binney has spoken on national television about NSA surveillance.

    This knowledge is to be shared for the purpose of freeing our neighbor's minds, not having a condescending attitude towards them. Too often, I see people using this information to make fun of people. Sending them back is just completely contradictory to the ultimate goal. It's as if we would rather be better than others, instead of empowering them, their society, and our world instead.

    Around the time I started getting stalked in 2008, every piece of U.S. Mail I received was cleanly sliced open across the top. I inquired several times and was told a machine malfunctioned.

    Utah as center for data collections? "Mormons" were only Created in 1800s as lead-up to the centralization done during the Civil War. An Italian angel, Moroni, offered "gold plates," etc. Now a mormon with south american family was offered as the only non-catholic candidate for national office in last election. Also Utah is center for things s/a DNA collections under the guise of ancestry work (mormon "church" has data collection on u.s. citizens as a "mission" and runs ancestry networks)

    If he didn't make a difference back then, how is Snowden going to make a difference now?
    Even with social media spreading the news that the media won't, I just don't see enough sheeple getting together to make anything change.
    I PRAY that I'm wrong, but I doubt that I am.

    Good concept, but I work in corrections and I know people that will crack the heads of paralyzed people in wheelchairs if they are told with no questions asked. One guy told me if he is told to open fire on a unarmed crowd as long as he gets paid it does not matter. How many people are wearing badges like that?

    • @raymondfrye5017
      @raymondfrye5017 5 лет назад

      Very few are wearing badges, Thank God, so that the "weeding-out"of misfits becomes easier. Psychopaths are no good as troops because they don't obey orders and don't know when to stop. Example? The Waffen SS shooting their own people.

    the problem is, there are things that try to seperate us, and keep it that way, because if we were all to work as one to fight the big fight, we would become socialist, and the bigger powers are definitly not interested in that.

    Not fast enough, but I know what you mean... There are a lot of neo-liberals who will never believe any of this... er well maybe if we have a Republican president they'll start believing it. I think bipartisanism if the biggest problem we have that prevents these issues from being embraced, along with the MSM of course... On a positve note a couple of my friends who I thought should be aware bc they were smart people have recently awoken

    Here we are 10+ years later and oddly enough we’ve recently seen this woman on Zoom videos apparently working openly against and the Trump admin. Tore Maras and Millie Weaver has her on video in sync with the Sunrise Movement.
    What a difference

    The past 4 years of my life has been an ongoing nightmare and interrogation. I post here because I don't know whether any of my private communication attempts ever reach their destinations because no one every replies. In 2003, airport security molested my terminally ill, partially paralyzed mother in her wheelchair. I've got the other end of Binney's disclosures. I don't know how else to get this across....

    Technology is out pacing behavior , the language being expressed here is born of yesterdays answers: Mechanical,Newtonian,militaristic,these are all games which die and give berth to themselves like the snake eating its own tail,no better than your opponent. Do you seriously think you can stop this? You've seen what we've done with fission , what did you think we would do with telecommunication ?
