It sucks that you’re feeling unmotivated about it, I want you to know I’ve enjoyed every version of the aftons you’ve made. if you ever don’t want to continue the series that would be ok. Well looks like Michael is going to fight for custody of another child from abuse, this time his biological daughter who probably suffered mental and/or emotional abuse (Elias is Michael’s adopted son who previously suffered from mental and physical abuse from his biological father if I remember right, this is mostly review for my part) Edit: Actually now that I think about it did the two (Michael and Callie) get an official divorce before Michael went missing
Its not uncommon to lose interest in a story. Some times its because chronic writer's/creator's block stalls a story for so long it falls into limbo. Such stories stand a 50-50 chance of either remaining in that state until inspiration returns, or simply dying a quiet death. Other times its because focus shifts to other works that hold one's interest far more strongly than the older story is and, again, this can be either permanent or temporary. There is no real way of predicting whether the shift in focus is permanent or temporary. In my case, my focus shifts regularly as it cycles between a number of story ideas in progress of being developed and often fandoms tied to those story ideas (my account on a certain fanfiction website dates back to 2003, but has never had many stories uploaded to it because I am SLOW...) I have no way of knowing if that is what you are experiencing or not, of course. I merely wish to offer support and understanding even though I just discovered this AU yesterday and started watching the playlist today. Putting the series on a long hiatus is one option if you don't wish to outright discontinue it. It gives you time to direct your focus to projects that hold your interest better and it can stay that way until the motivation and ideas return for this series. There is no need to feel bad about taking a break. If anyone tries to make you feel guilty, of course, that is entirely a THEM problem and not one you need to concern yourself with. Granted, ignoring a guilt-tripping comment is hard to do sometimes. They are trying to provoke an emotional response after all and emotions aren't rational. I have learned to ignore them, but that is heavily aided by crippling levels of apathy on my end combined with a low emotional IQ and a sometimes ruthlessly rational/logical thought process. Do not recommend cultivating this mindset. It's not healthy and is why I am likely going to be spending the remaining half of my adult life in therapy. But that's enough about me. *You* are the one who matters right now. Really the only advice I can give about guilt-tripping commenters is design a list of questions about how important quality is to you in regards to this story so you can have a solid outline of your baseline mindset. Then, if you do receive a troubling comment have a supply of comfort food at hand to dull the impact of their words, take a step back until the emotional response dies down, and reflect on that list that outlines your baseline. Then reflect on the comment that made you react and this time analyze why it's making you react that way. What sort of language is used? Was the tone polite, rude, demanding, pleading, childish, or simply curious? Ask yourself whatever questions you need for your subconscious to get the hint you are actually interested in why you feel this way. Then wait a few days or weeks. It can take a while and taking time to ask those same questions all over again helps keep the subconscious engaged. Eventually you will get an epiphany that answers most if not all of those questions. Use those answers to inform your final decision and don't let the emotions rule you. That's basically what I do. It's cultivated a keen sense of self-awareness which results in faster responses from subconscious brain when I ask it things. Very helpful for making rational decisions. I hope this comment was helpful. If not....well, maybe it'll help someone else...if they can get through the wall of text.
