Robin Cochrane: Anny Ma Shedy feat Ebo Krdum

Based on two different traditional pieces from Mali, with new lyrics and music
by the great singer/songwriter Ebo Krdum from Darfur, Sudan. I visited Mali a few years before the Islamists took over, and it was an unforgettable experience. This song is my tribute to the brave people of Mali, and across the continent, who are struggling despite weak regimes, conflicts and poverty.
I share the love for the music of Mali with Ebo Krdum, with whom I've been working extensively for the past year or so, as well as an interest in African politics.
The music in the first part comes from a bambara song from southern Mali, and the second one is Paya Paya, a mandinka standard, but with Ebo's voice and Ali Farka Touré inspired guitar lines. Zilverzurf also plays electric guitar, and me and Sugarray ar singing the chorus.
