So glad I saw the re-staging of the Concerto For Group And Orchestra in 1999. Their was a mini Butterfly Ball’ section & Ronnie sang ‘Sitting In A Dream’ & ‘Love Is All’. A really good documentary piece here. Hoping that the original Concert gets restored and released in its own right.
What a great little documentary. I purchased the album " Butterfly Ball " in 1978 here in Australia. " Love is All " was a huge hit here in Brisbane that year. I never knew why it took 4 years to get here. I was already a Deep Purple fan..... the "made in Japan" album was my first ever. Thanks for this.
I first heard this tune as an advertising jingle for Centrepoint shopping arcade on Bourke Street. I loved it. Always stopped in my tracks and listened to that ad on TV. Then the original song with Ronnie Dio got played every afternoon on the ABC as a 3 minute bridge between The Goodies and Doctor Who. Always LOVED this song...
Love Ronny. He’s a great singer. He made similar comments about Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow. What he doesn’t seem to understand that It was Blackmore’s Rainbow and Glovers ball. Their names were put on the projects to sell more records. Back then Ronny was unknown and he should have been grateful for the opportunity.
I'm glad to have found this. There's very little on this album, which is rather unfortunate. Even when Roger is interviewed, people only ask him DP questions.
@@whaleguy No. we haven’t made any real attempts either. We don’t do a ton of interviews as it’s not really our thing. That being said we’d never turn that one down!
as always, ego clashes, Dio wanted to be named in the record, as well as Hardin, as they were not only " guests".There was not love is all with such huge egos.
True, but there must have been a dozen or more musicians like Coverdale, Hughes and Ashton. Can’t name them all. Also it’s like an orchestra, they usually name the conductor not every member of the orchestra.
@@thetruthhurts6652Dio lifted the while project and sucees because of that hitsingle, other tracks were beautiful as well, incl the other Dio sung tracks. But LOVE IS ALL always has been that classic that stuck out. Personally I really love John Lawtons song. Of which I recall was a single but not on the original album? ruclips.net/video/BJbXtNLHj5o/видео.html
It is a happy song which we need at this moment thanks guys for the childhood memories

A truly wonderful moment. Really wish I'd been there!

It's a really cool documentary. I wish there was more video about the making of this album. Made in Japan . . . not a bad start!

This is like reliving the best parts of my very early childhood. This song and the animation stuck with me for fifty years.
Those are the best memories, and what we discuss every week on the show. Cheers!
@@TheDeepPurplePodcast Well you can count me in. Many thanks.

Was there a text on the cover of the single that said Vocals by Ronnie James Dio?
This was a truly unique project. Never thought I would see any video material from it. Brilliant -and Ronnie James Dio did a great job!
Love is all !

That’s because we haven’t interviewed him! Don’t forget to check out our 4 part series on The Butterfly Ball!!
@@TheDeepPurplePodcast That's really great to hear. Have you been able to contact him?

What a great voice of Ronnie
I am partial to the Deathshead Hawk moth.
I guess it's from a Dutch program "Single Luck" (Tonko Dop).
Thanks for sharing that!
Klopt.
(Eng: that is correct)
:-)
What a cool song very Beatles- ish
Very much so.
Its a shame we dont have a DVD of the concert instead of this ridicilous film
I've been saying this for years. I've pay TOP DOLLAR to see the whole concert.
@@TheDeepPurplePodcast But at the live Cocert it is John Lawton NOT Ronnie James Dio.

@@marknolde3541 Джон Лоутон украсил этот проект. Его исполнение Love is All в разы лучше исполнения Дио. ЛОУТОН 👍👍👍
Is Ronnie's vocals are killer. Ronnie's very ego driven.
