- World of Warcraft: Dragonflight reviewed on PC by Leana Hafer.
Dragonflight reignites the sense of wonder and exploration that originally drew me to World of Warcraft, for about the first 30 or 40 hours. Beyond that, it definitely starts to feel a bit threadbare. Dragon riding is fun as hell, and I love the design of the new zones. But this expansion's back-to-basics approach is very much a double-edged sword. I won't burn out as fast because there aren't a million things to do every day just to keep up like there were in Shadowlands. But at the same time, I don't feel like there's enough to do that's genuinely interesting once I've cleared all the very well-written side quests. An excellent new crafting system is gated behind mind-numbing amounts of mindless grinding for resources, in addition to weekly caps, which feels like a double jeopardy situation. I like Dragonflight, but I fell out of love with it not long after hitting max level. I really hope Blizzard looks at this as a rebuilding year for WoW, and doesn't hesitate to iterate on some of the inventive ideas in Shadowlands that were maybe only a step or two away from being great. - Игры
IGN the type of company to make someone do a review of a game based around endgame activities without touching endgame activities
Also gave shadowlands an 8, what a joke
Do ppl actually listen to what IGN sais anymore?
@@gabrielmajin5265 sadly, since they give high scores to popular games or ver well known games to gain the audiences' favour
@Mac Big Go write your own review
So... All mmo is about endgame? Jeez what an elitist. If you want endgame content review, search those. Casual don't really care about those hardcore basement dwellers contents.
There are hot takes, and there are wrong takes. IGN this is a wrong take.
"They seem to be begging for controller support, which has long been rumored but never actually manifested"
Offical controller support was added at the end of Shadowlands. As many of IGN's reviews, this is another one where the reviewer has no knowledge of the game they are playing and are just doesn't care if they spread misinformation about a game.
Imagine giving the best expansion in years a lower score than Shadowlands. Proves IGN doesn’t know anything
@@lilmari530 opinions on something they know nothing about….. the guy in this video kept saying straight wrong facts. Not even opinions, like actual facts about the game that are wrong. So yes. Bad journalist is bad. And his opinion is also bad.

Best expansion in years isnt a high bar with over a decade of flops...

Huh, IGN found the one Shadowlands fan and hired them to write this. 😂
The most IGN thing ever. lmao. So bad
This might be the worst review of anything I've ever seen... "Dragonflight is a step back from Shadowlands"... lmao omfg
Some wrong information in this review.
- There is controller support in the game now.
- The old legacy dungeons added to mythic+ are not only from Mists of Pandaria.

Character (Reviewer) in the video. No raids done, no high level dungeons done, zero PvP done ever. Only levelling experience completed with minimum gear. No endgame engagement whatsoever. This is MMORPG but let’s ignore that for a quick review 👍
LMAO XD!
Who cares

A lot of us don't do any of those things though
@@saikanji9570 Then wow is probably not for you
WoW has not been this great in a very long time. Calling it a step backwards from Shadowlands is baffling
Great and WoW don't belong in the same sentence, even if DF is much better than the previous couple expansions.
@@mattt6201 You know wow is the most played mmo.
Imagine reviewing a car by driving 20 yards in a parking lot for 5 Minutes.
IGN released a review 2 days into the start of the season when M+ and the raid opened up? Dawg this vid is very uninformed, esp to claim that all the legacy dungeons they added into the rotation are from MoP. IGN needs to get people who are more than just a surface level player to accurately review an MMO. Community reception to WoW right now is very high
True. Metacritic needs this type of people too.
Did they really ask for Torghast back?
Truly a clueless reviewer
He called the maw and torghast “fun”
He said his favorite part of the game was sitting on a ledge listening to an NPC tell his lifestory 😂. Imagine if this guy played pvp he would get destroyed
This man disengaged toward a hill. That shows how much he plays wow
it’s not even him he’s reading the review written by another person
They seriously gave Dragon Flight a lower score then Shadowlands.... what?
Ign is just random
There on hard drugs
It’s because these clowns have never actually played the game.
Praising some of the mostly reviled mechanics of Shadowlands was a choice.
honestly cant review an mmorpg expansion this early into it
Ofc not but reviews are for products in release
True, but the first 2 weeks in this expansion has been amazing
@@TheSmurray39 best ever !
What a terrible review. This is the best WoW has been in years. 9/10
Did IGN really allude to Dragonflight being a step back from Shadowlands? Shadowlands is an expansion that is almost universally hated because of the systems it had.
SL endgame is almost universally hated. The questing/leveling experience was well received. People were all about it for the first couple months.
This is the best WoW has been in a *very* long time. Great dungeon design, great crafting (again), fantastic zone design, awesome new class that is *not* overdesigned, but instead very much captures the thematic essence of the expansion itself. IGN is objectively wrong on all accounts here. Trust me, this is a great time to be back.
People always say that at the start of an expansion, qlet's see what the games like in a few months
"Trust me, its great"
No.
Does IGN not have an actual wow player or at least someone who reads patch notes? 😂 This is why nobody takes them seriously anymore.
I’m going to assume you didn’t actually get all golds on the advanced dragon riding races though
There is LITERALLY controller support.
Figures an IGN journalist would play a hunter haha.
This expansion is awesome. I've played it nonstop and don't see myself stopping anytime soon. The game actually feels fun and not just a grinding simulator. Wow is back, blizzard outdid themselves here.
Kill10 things
Collect 5 things
Collect 12 things
Kill 10 things and one bigger thing
Truly inspiring quest design
@@jonr7364 u mad
Woh man. They did not outdo themselves by any means. They just outdid their last couple expansions. It's still a grinding simulator, it was just still fresh when you made this post.
@@mattt6201 willing to bet 90 percent of the player base is done with this expac, it’s a pump and dump
How can you review the game when the major content just dropped this week? DF is leaps and bounds beyond everything shadowlands and the rest have had to offer. I've played wow for 18 years, it's better than it has been for a very very long time, so far the raid is great with fun encounters. This review isn't a valid review.
The amount of misinformation within the video is astounding. Controller support is already in, and only references the dungeons coming from Mist of Pandaria, instead of it being a spread out of 3 different expansions.
This reviewer is blatantly placing misinformation, and reviewing poorly because of it, only Shadowlands fan to ever exist, only one to praise the story for that matter.
IGN the type of people to call a really well done class "overdesigned"
If you get a dragon that goes so fast what is the point of getting other mounts
this guy just said the legacy dungeons are all from mist of pandaria.... sorry but you really need to get someone who actually plays the game to review it and not some casual tourist who clearly doesnt enjoy mmo content.
It's a tough job to open the dungeon journal and spend a minute or 2 on research.
He must apologize to everyone about this review and those lies
Hey IGN how bout hiring someone who actually looks at the game for more than a day before they write the review
the score is fair though
What's stopping you from doing it?
Nothing wrong with a first impression review.
Big TRUE!
IGN reviews are basically for casual gamers, not neckbeards.
Did you just say Dragonflight was a step backwards from arguably the worst expansion WoW has ever had.....
How in the world could you say it was a step back from Shadowlands? What are you talking about???
Funny how I'm flying around using a xbox controller just fine. So yeah there is controller support in this expansion.
IGN listen up, delete this video, go back in time, play shadowlands then come back to now, play dragonflight, re-do the whole review and then re-upload
this review is lower than shadowlands, dont know how someone can actually consider that to be the case
Gotta love traditional MMO reviews. Even the leveling is more fun than SL, idk what these guys are smoking.
Well we can see that someone like the expansion power systems in past expacs….
Wow...this review aint it. Does this reviewer actually play WoW? This is the best WoW has been in a LONG time. We must not be playing the same, game because Dragonflight is amazing!

Shadowlands is widely regarded as a terrible expansion and this gets a 7 LMAO

Why is the endgame of Dragonflight a problem now ?
It’s not. It’s back to old school wow and this person has no idea what they’re saying

Man ign never dissapoints with their weird takes.
How they give df less than sl is insane.
IGN... get a game reviewer that knows what they are talking about.
WoW should make a single-player RPG that's playable on Console & feels like a rich narrative experience
2:53 fire mage could do this in vanilla with blast wave and slow fall lmao
If you want work next to your daily work go play this game. Its made to keep you aslong in game as posible to make you spend mony everymonth. Not even talking about lag and failing servers.
WoW still has a special place in my heart for the nostalgia and how ahead of its time it was but they definitely lost me after Pandas
Is this game pack last for 30 days only or it has to be monthly subscribed?
how did they not implement dragon racing
could be a whole expansion
Dragonflight a step back from Shadowlands? This guy does not need to review games anymore.
I'm getting Spyro vibes and reminded of old Dragon flying Playstation games like Rein of Fire, Savage Skies, Drakengard and Lair. I'm glad Century: Age of Ashes and Dragonflight are keeping it alive, but I'm not going to jump in WOW just to relieve nostalgic game memories. As long as new game developers , take these lessons forward and make great experiences, I'll appreciate the attempts along the way to the perfect Dragon-flying, aerial combat experience.
There’s actually a side quest where you get a lil purple dragon pet named Spyragos as a reward
as a mm hunter you dont even have rapid fire equipped. im having trouble trusting you
3:50 wtf is this? Superman 64?
Did you just rated this, one point lower than Shadowlands?
Ahahahahahahahahaha
4 dungeons of mop? No? Wod and legion too?
It seems like IGN just wants to take a dump on WoW
It’s so obvious that this guy isn’t going to play WoW again until the next expansion comes out lol
ign the type of ppl that buy m+ boost
The best expansion since legion rated worse than shadowlands lol IGN
It’s the classic 7
Lower than Shadowlands? Classic IGN review
@7:15 the reviewer lost ALL credibility when he said he misses the maw and Torghast!😂😂😂
Sounds like the reviewer is burned out from WoW
Kinda hard to review something new and with that attitude, when a majority of the player base is hyped as hell imo
Is this one the so called huntards?
there is literally controller support.
Wtf were they think with the dragon designs. They look like something taken from second life.
Honestly this review doesn't feel genuine. A low 7? Nah dude this ain't it
Seems accurate to me. The game is dated. Regurgitated game mechanics (aside from basic dragon riding improvement's). Its a content update for an old game that doesn't eliminate existing problem's. Blizz could've done better.
@@anony88 yeah but they gave shadowlands (the expansion before it) which was one of the most hated expansions an 8
IGN has no actual WoW players on staff and it shows. This is the best expansion in a long long time and almost everyone I've talked to in game would give it at least an 8 if not a 9 or 10. What a joke.
what is the newest hardest content in wow called
wownope?
mythic raiding and mythic +
This is such an awesome expansion
This is why you should always research things yourself instead of buying or not buying something based off of someone else's reviews. The score at the end should NEVER impact your decision
Backing for a controller in World of Warcraft lol, that a down vote from me :)
You need to replay dragonflight. It's what better than shadowlands
This review is bad, he doesn't seem to be informed about the game, he's straight up wrong on too many fronts to name. Doesn't seem that he really did much of anything at end game. Listen, shadowlands failed badly, ima tell you as an 18yr wow vet.. DF is a big win for us as fans and mmo consumers.
Dont listen to someone who does not a have dps meter in dungos

Dude yes !!!
There has been talk of that happening actually. Whether they go with it, who knows?
@@FlusterCuck808 wrong. The head developer in an interview said it will not come to consoles as the integration is too complex for them.

You're right, he did this review too early
Yeah...think I'm done with IGN reviews for the rest of eternity....
They said it's a 7 fyi
These haters love to bomb wow expansions for fun while doing negative reviews. Deppression and despair got worse for them, just don't play it and leave WOW alone. They love when WOW get bad ratings and cancel culture is like an addictive drug too.
7(good) is bad now lol
he misdirected to a dps lmao
BASED, CHAOS.
Maybe because Shadowlands was so disappointing that Dragonflight feels so refreshing, and therefore maybe my opinion is biased. But this is really a bad take on what is in my opinion, one of the best expansions in WoW history since Legion.
Imagine rating one of the best expansions since legion worse than the expansion that literally caused the WOW exodus.
DF>SL
should've been an 8 or 8.5 quite frankly.
True
This reviewer doesn’t seem to like MMO’s at all. Bad take, IGN.
Lower score than shadowlands? If u had any doubt how irrelevant IGN scores are.....
