I've always thought it is a beautiful building. I'm so glad it was retained and is still looking splendid.

I absolutely love this building. It brings back great memories of meeting my aunt who flew home every 3 years
From New York. As Michael said we could drive up to the door and walk right in to collect her. Better days for air travel but perhaps expensive for most people then 💚🇮🇪☘️

My friends wife’s grandfather used to work in the old terminal back in 1945. Absolute beauty of a building, the art deco is so nostalgic too!

Aer Lingus in English is "Air Fleet" and the building is designed as the top of a ship, with the control tower as the bridge.

A friend and I used to bicycle to this building in the later fifties to look at aeroplanes. Great memories.

Curious question. In the baggage hall there's a ramp leading down into darkness by the chutes area that is closed off. What's it for, cancelled plans to a subway? 🤔

How often does he take an inventory of T 2 ?
No information desk, no RELAVENT SIGNS to help visitors and NO markers for drivers to write names on their meet and greet signs. And why are the parking meters so far from arrivals ?
Because the meter clocks KEEP TICKING while you are walking to them !
    We're not ALL that naive.
Now MISTER Martin, let's see how you respond to this !
It shouldn't be too difficult for you to do - given your QUALIFICATIONS ? ? ! !
Over to you, Mr. Know - it - all.

      GOONS OR LOONS ?
JUST IN CASE YOU DIDN'T GET THE PICTURE, I'M SPEAKING FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF A DRIVER WHO IS A REGULAR VISITOR TO THE AIRPORT.
FRUSTRATION KICKS IN WHEN YOU DON'T KNOW, ( BY SIGHT ), THE PEOPLE YOU ARE WAITING FOR AND THEY DON'T KNOW YOU. .
YOU LOOK FOR SLIPS WRITE THEIR NAMES ON : NONE.
YOU LOOK FOR A MARKER TO WRITE THEIR NAMES WITH : NONE.
INFORMATION SIGNS FOR TOURISTS WHO DON'T KNOW WHERE TO GO : NONE.
COURTESY STAFF TO ASSIST THEM : NONE.
      BY THIS TIME, THEY'VE GONE,
      MOST LIKELY BY TAXI.
IN THE MEANTIME, YOU'RE WATCHING THE TIME FOR YOUR NEXT JOB.
I'M ACTUALLY AMAZED THAT YOU FAIL TO SEE ALL THIS, UNLESS YOU'RE A MEMBER OF "MANAGEMENT" AT THIS PATHETIC AIRPORT WHO TAKES OFFENSE AT LEGITIMATE COMMENTS AND PROBABLY GETS PAID A LITTLE EXTRA TO KEEP COSTS DOWN.
      WHO'S THE LOON (GOON NOW ? )

It's significance as a modernist building is completely eclipsed by the stupid tedious walk around to the Ryanair gates , complete design fail who ever authorised that nightmare ...it would have been a much better idea to build over it and include it within the redesigned terminal building , that would have been much more architecturally relevant and for purpose
