What sucks is that Jackie Loughery, the very first Miss USA in 1952 passed away this year last February and we didn't even have an in memoriam for her. Instead we had to listen to Lackluster Rose's ChatGPT speech for the fourth time.
@@icecreamsunday9912 oh that’s so sad 😭😭
yoo that’s crazyyy 😔😔

Fire her ass! She’s cheap!

SAD!
I couldn’t believe I was watching a miss USA pageant! I truly felt bad for the contestants!!!
@@Carolesoriginalpieces I feel terrible about their experience
It felt like I was just watching a state pageant. I competed in Iowa this year and they basically did the same thing 😭 I was expecting more at the national level.
Verrry much state pageant vibes
At least the states have a dance number! I competed for Miss CT and they had one of Britney Spears dancer/choreographer (can’t remember which!)!!!
I have never clicked on a video so fast 🤣🤣🤣. Dani you are hilarious🤣
@@AdrianaAboagye so glad you understand my sense of humor 🤣
There is obviously a decline in the popularity and relevance of pageants in the US, and this organization is too lazy and not helping at all.
@@christinegracetan definitely not helping 🙈
Michigan gave the same answer to her final question and in the video that was shown in her final look just moments later. It was cringe.
Production wise, Miss USA is still way way better than the boring, "High School graduation, quizz bee format" of Miss World.
I agree, pageants in Mexico are in a situation that is almost similar, sponsors and business people they no longer want to sponsor a beauty pageant because they do not want to risk losing money if the event does not meet expectations or is profitable enough.
I agree, pageant in the US is not much of a relevance its like they don’t care or IDK unlike here in Asian country where we considered like a super bowl where die hard fans meet, more media exposure, girls activity for advertising, fashion show left and right, maybe they are experimenting to stay away from the traditional pageant, too bad for the candidates that they were not even showcase more of their advocacy. kudos still to the production for putting up a show.
My sister is Miss Florida USA and she only had 3 weeks to prepare herself for the Miss USA pageant. She did amazing and she’s absolutely beautiful and for her to not have enough time, but do amazing and also dress amazing and to not get top 20-10 is crazy. Half those girls were robbed 100%
@@shealewis3989 so many women lost out at this pageant 😭
@@DaniWalkerMy sister has been waiting her whole life to compete in the Miss USA competition and for it to not even compare to years before 1:35 what she grew up watching is heartbreaking and to have this year feel like its a total flop is so sad and for her to not expect how it was going to be or couldn’t even experience everything because it’s just low budgeted and it is heartbreaking and my heart goes out to the other girls who might feel like that.
She's more worthy to compete for miss Universe rather than the actual winner. Peyton is one of MY Top 10 picks she carried herself very well But she's underrated
@shealewis3989 I competed at miss Florida USA 2018 and our state pageant was lightyears better than this whole Miss USA show! Such a disservice this year holding it last minute, too. I totally agree with you, Peyton did great for the time she had. Your sister is wonderful titleholder!
My sister is Miss Idaho USA and it was a STRUGGLE to get this together. There was no state sponsor for gown and we had to rent a gown with three weeks before she left. We wish we had more time to prepare and I know she would’ve done better if we had the time. Some girls had three months to prepare which makes a huge difference. Also worth mentioning that we had to individually pay for flights and hair and makeup everyday which was not provided by Miss USA.
The way I immediately clicked. I couldn’t wait to hear what a disaster this was according to you! 😭💙

@@DaniWalkerplease can you give us your opinion on Miss South Africa 2024. The winner, Mia is such an inspiration and would love to hear your overall thoughts on the production, when compared to Miss USA
It was the worst production of any pageant I've ever seen on television. This felt and looked like a high school production. The hosts were screaming throughout the night. It was horrible.
Don’t even get me started on the announcer in the prelims that literally sounds like AI
We need to bring back hosts that give the pageant a touch of class, like Bob Barker, Bob Goen, Dick Clark, even Alan Thicke.
I fear this may be the first time, in a long time, USA doesn’t place for finals at Miss Universe. Alma is a lovely girl, but these other countries are turning out strong competitors.
I can’t see Alma winning Miss Universe. Her main topic is how much she has achieved as an Afro Latina. This does not play well at Universe. I was more impressed with Chelsea Manalo than I am with her.
She will place thanks to the Miss USA sash factor.
@@PungiFungiMiss USA has only missed four times in 72 years. 1976, 1999, 2002 & 2010.
@@PungiFungiits heavily because mu was a us pageant and now that isnt the case anymore, Anne has the means to unplace upcoming usa contestants

As a pageant trainer myself, the question and answer segments give me the most thrill and excitement, apart from the evening gowns. And listening to the answers, they all need help. Even the winner. Good thing we still have months left to prepare -- if they're getting the best quality of preparation ever.
Yes, at least now she'll have some more time. I really hope she has a team to support her.
This intro killed me!!! 😂. I personally was just fast forwarding to the ladies main segments, because the snoozefest was just so sad. Prelims though!!! Morgan Romano accidentally speaking on her mic “I have nooo binder” LMAO. That was absolutely foreshadowing for finals.
@@michaelposa9515 oh noooo 🙈

I think pageants can learn a lot from the Miss Universe Philippines where they constantly invite pageant vloggers and influencers to events, which gives a lot of promotions and hype for the pageant.
I highly doubt that USA is placing at Miss Universe this year. Not only because she’s not prepared but also because the level of contestants and new countries are wild!
I’m worried about a placement too. She came off very green and naive the whole competition.
You spent entire months leading up to Miss USA hyping Texas and dragging our Miss USA contestants. Maybe you should focus on your Miss Brazil pageant and stop shoving one girl down everyone’s throat for months every year at Miss USA, then bashing the eventual winner

I’m still shocked about the snubs of Louisiana and New Jersey from Top 20.
You’re absolutely correct about the robbed placements because it was super noticeable in comparison to “robbed” placements of other years. Virginia absolutely deserved a spot in the Top 5.
Q&A was AWFUL. Ohio was the only one who answered somewhat coherently and then they placed her FOURTH. Don’t even get me started on Kentucky getting runner-up after that answer. I loved her and she’s beautiful but she should’ve wholeheartedly been 4th. Also one of those judges absolutely was biased toward Oklahoma in her making that far in the competition…

@@DaniWalker the past clips you showed were the things I watched as a little girl thinking "wow, I wish I could be apart of that!" Becoming Miss USA is a big dream to many women,I wish Layla would bring back the spark instead of watering down the legacies our trailblazers left us with!
My theory is that they wanted an active duty military servicemember like Miss America 🤷🏻♀️
I thought about this too. Miss America got a lot of good press for it, so why not feed off that same thing to “revive” whatever’s left of Miss USA. Idk… the whole show felt off in general.

Cant wait for the day Dani becomes the national director of USA. Please make it happen universe!!
Still annoyed they didn’t live stream the national costume on their RUclips channel!!! That’s one of my favorite parts of the pageant 👏🏼🔥

I agree that the contestants did not have enough time to prepare. I’m certain that we will not place at miss universe.
She'll be lucky to make the top 16/20. The queens out of Asia and Latin America are STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL and most are educated, articulate and of substantive backgrounds. She's not going to get far with rehearsed responses and regurgitated answers.

I share the same opinion about Michigan's answer. It does send a message to future contestants to just say anything that comes to mind and you can win. However, it’s very disappointing that none of the 5 answered the question.
You're right, because even if you can win USA with that answer, it won't be enough for Universe.

Usually judges are sequestered. Allegedly the teens were also taking photos with judges prior to crowning. I showed some screen shots in my Teen USA recap. It's verrrry mismanaged and reckless IMO.
Dani u hit the nail on the head! The girls were not prepared, most of them looked green and the ones that I thought could hold their own against a Miss PH or Miss Thai were cut.
This is the first year I’m worried about a placement at universe. I hate to say it but Michigan is a little too green. There is just something lacking that I can’t put my finger on.
The placements overall were extremely random and I truly believe Layla went against judges scores and made up her own semifinalists
No clue what you’re talking about, you must be Filipino cuz she ain’t even that strong this year
@juliomarques6741 lol I’m not PH and I’m also not biased which seems to be ur issue
Pop the corn and feed the children! Miss Walker is giving us what we need. Lol
I agree with Dani's thoughts and commentary.
Some thoughts I had:
*Laylah's speech 🙄... giving women voices when she silenced the voices of the 2023 winners while she keeps yapping hers.
*I think it was the mid 90s when they started doing the parade of gowns prior to the evening gown competition.
*I think a top 20 is too much for USA with 51 contestants. A top 15 that competes in both swimsuits and gowns resulting in a top five would be better. At Universe where there are 80+ contestants needs the top 20. Lesser semifinal spots makes it even more competitive from the prelims.
*I didn't like that some girls had capes and some didn't for swimsuit. I actually prefer that they all wear the same swimsuit and maybe just stick with a one piece or two piece option.
*That scepter looks like something I can get at Party City. If they want to go with a scepter, make it match the crown and make it bigger.
*This is something that's bugged me since 2011 when they made this switch but I hate that the runner up doesn't get her moment as she doesn't get announced. I preferred the announcement of the first runner up then the winner like they did up to 2010.
*Do you think they chose a winner who would be a good Miss USA or someone who could do well maybe even win Universe? I think Michigan fits the first rather than the latter.
Thank you for this video and looking forward to the next one!
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for your Super Thanks! This is such a huge help for the channel!
You brought up some great points too. Also, I think the reason they announce the winner as they do now is for the news clips that are shared the next day. It's so you can hear the winners name called as she reacts to the announcement. If you announce the runner up, you'll get the queen's reaction at that moment, but when taken out of context for the news, it's confusing to see the queen react when her state wasn't announced.
No shade to Alma- My theory is that they chose the woman who would be subservient to Laylah’s reign of terror. A US military officer would never go against the grain or give up the crown or speak out against the USA organization. She can be coached well and easily be controlled to bring a positive image to Miss USA. chileee
No shade here but she was the underdog who out performed everyone so she to Deserved to win. However she needs more training and still has time. Don’t be hating
Hmmm I don’t know about. Since she’s in the army she has free access to the JAG (army lawyers) I would hope she’d have them read over the contract before she signs anything. She also commissioned into the military so she can’t simply leave her profession or walk out on that contract without some serious consequence. USMA grad require 5 years of service minimum (and that gets extended if you go to grad school on the army’s dollar).
@@jacob-ni6jr Do you know Alma in real life or something ? No one is hating she just wasn't the best and we can all see that.
@@AnimalLover2400 I don’t know her irl, it’s just shameful that y’all r discrediting her win. Be mad at the organization not the winner. It’s obviously shady and make assumptions on why she won. People never appreciate an underdog win.
Then need to go ahead and hire you. This recap was so accurate and amazing. I agree with everything you said. The only thing I can think of is maybe they cut the budget this year because they lost so many sponsors with all the backlash. Hopefully they will make next year better because they have recouped what they lost. Its not fair to these ladies at all. Please Hire Dani so she can save your pageant.
Texas's gown let her down. I was shocked by Kentucky's gown, but she's just SO beautiful. WERE WAS SHEYNNIS???
I think it was fine to go classic without sparkles and I appreciate that she chose something that spoke to her, but she needed a stronger color. That red washed her out. She at least needed a vermillion red, or even better and cold electric blue, or electric yellow.
@@lindseyroth6958 Good comment, but I was more concerned with the bust area of the dress. The dress was closely fitted and well made but the oversized bust area was not in keeping with the rest of the dress. It was a pity because she's a beautiful young lady.

I've always been a fan of beauty pageants, and I can remember growing up how many girls wished or dreamt wanting to become Miss USA. It's unfortunate how it has fallen because pageants aren't as popular in the states as they used to be and CLEARLY we can all see that Layla Rose only cares for is a PAYCHECK and think shes Miss USA. As a business major, there are so many options and ideas that they can take for the miss USA organization to keep it running well and bring it back to its glory, But again, these new people in charge only care for a PAYCHECK and not the contestants or the legacy of the pageant.

Unfortunately it all boils down to sponsors. I think the reason why MUPH is able to make it work is because we know in the PH there's a demand and audience. The sponsors see value behind investing in pageants. We just don't see that in the US. :(
This is the issue here in Jamaica as well...lack of sponsors, companies don't see the value on investing in pageants. I don't know if it's because they don't care or because the organizations are not doing a good job at selling the pageants to sponsors.
@@chanw5797 In Mexico, it's the same thing, investors and sponsors no longer want to invest in pageants because they do not want to risk losing money if said event does not meet expectations or is not profitable in some way.

For me the saving grace of the whole show is that Michigan seemed ecstatic to be the new Miss USA. So that's very nice to see.
The influencer hype to create a buzz was SUCH a missed opportunity being in LA! Hope they can have an bounce back like MAO is starting to- the girls deserve it
@@stacypowell4664 yesss! We needed it 🥹
Hello Dani and everyone,
I am not sure where to begin, but to be blunt. I have been watching the Miss USA pageant since the 90s, and I never thought the day would come that I would be so sad to see the decline of this wonderful pageant. I remember as a young child waiting for weeks in anticipation for the pageant to come on. I remember going to the grocery store and waiting to open the TV Guide to see the Miss USA ad in the pages LOL. It was such a pain to watch this years pageants. My goal was to only support and cheer on the beautiful ladies. I honestly didn't care who won because I am so nervous for the winner being around Layla and her group of YES people.
What is the saddest part of this whole mess is seeing all the state directors step down. All the legendary men and women who sent the best of the best. The Mills, Kimberly Nicewonder, Britt Boyse, Melissa Proctor....so sad to see the years of history gone in a blink of th eye. I actually started my channel to honor GuyRex and their contribution to the Miss USA system. These individuals are irreplaceable.
Thank you Dani for your honesty and using your voice to speak up. I am praying for change and hoping that Miss USA will get back to its glory days.
I keep praying for a positive change as well. Who knew things could go so terrible wrong. I am so sad to see it all downgrade.
The show gave LOW BUDGET I mean just horrible. I believe Miss USA looks like a joke to its own country and other countries around the world as well. Some states advanced to top 20 who I felt had lower energy performances than others who had stronger.
Many people were surprised over Texas not advancing, but in all honesty, I felt from the beginning that she was not going to win because I felt that there were other candidates who had stronger advocacy work than her.
When it came to the question, uhm Michigan simply did not answer the question, Kentucky was HORRIBLE I mean did she do any training on interview at all??? Oklahoma answered okay, Tennessee I didn’t think she answered that well but to me, when I was watching it live, Ohio had the best answer for me.
When it came time for current Miss USA Savannah to take her final walk, OMG the moment was so cringe as Keltie held her arm out and just said go ahead take your walk? They could have made that moment sooooo much better!!!!!!! It was PATHETIC!!!!!!!!!
I was also disappointed that Louisiana did not place, I was really rooting for her.
When it came time to announce the winner and runner ups, I was FLOORED, I mean my jaw was on the floor when Ohio was announced as 4th runner up. I could heard the audience gasping at Ohio and Oklahomas placements!!!
Apart from the two former Miss USA judges, I was really questioning how these other judges are selected. What experience do they have? What qualifications do they have that should make them trustworthy judges in selecting the next Miss USA? HOW THE HELL WAS KENTUCKY FIRST RUNNER UP???
At the end of the day, Miss USA has completely lost that glamorous reputation, it looks like a joke to the entire world. For my self and the women who want to compete or wanted to compete in the future, it’s given a huge turnoff. Even for the women who want to join and compete to further their advocacies, will they even be provided with the resources necessary? Will they even be prepared in the necessary ways for Miss Universe?
If someone new does not step in, or we do not get new ownership, I believe that this could be the end of Miss USA.
Also, I am starting to believe that the downfall of Miss USA is maybe an inside job being allowed from the very top of the whole MU organization.
Having Tennessee and Oklahoma in Top 5 over Virginia and Hawaii was a laughing joke. They were much better overall.
@@Andresmarc365 Exactly!!!! Virginia and Hawaii should have been in there
This pageant was sooooo disappointing. In my opinion, Laylah has really brought down the value of Miss USA & Miss Teen USA. I will say that I'm glad to see the teens televised again. If this is how the future of the pageant, even the biggest of pageant fans will no longer watch. I wish Crystle Stewart was still directing. In two years, she was able to get a Miss Universe crown with R'bonney. I just don't see our country win if this is how the competition is going to be ran. Laylah has to be willing to compromise, take the criticism, & learn from it instead of getting so easily offended. We're going to lose our #POWERHOUSE status in the future. #SMH
The current title holders are going to need our support and strength we have seen this story before. They had big stage and failed to utilise it to make it entertaining
They better get a good support and a lawyer if they want to sue the Miss USA organization.
The Miss USA Pageant 2024 was a disappointing departure from its usual glamour and high production values, appearing notably low-budget and carelessly executed. The food provided to the contestants was subpar, forcing family members to step in and supply snacks and additional beverages to keep their loved one hydrated throughout their busy days. The overall pacing felt disjointed, with lackluster production structure and an uninspired judges' panel further diminishing the event's appeal. This year’s pageant was a stark letdown, underscoring a need for significant improvements to meet the standards of this iconic competition.
100%
Dani!!!! You read this pageant DOWN and I hope that organization see’s your video you hit every point !! Shame on us USA 😩😩😩
@@georgef5489 they watch but don’t make changes 😭
Also, I think it’s ridiculous that the contestants aren’t allowed to change evening gowns for finals. It took away the surprises that we used to see.
I hadn't heard that they aren't allowed to. I assume it's more that they didn't have time to get two gowns for the pageant.
Ohhh Dani the cricket sounds cracked me up 😂😂😂 I TOTALLY agree though I’m 42 years old and have been a pageant fan since I was 12 in 1994 I’ve watched EVERY single Miss USA , teen USA, universe, America, world pageant every year for 30 years now I saw the decline since 2020 of the Miss America system “ like when Emma Broyles won in 2022 and Nina Delvaluri said she won a $1,000 dollar scholarship instead of a one hundred thousand dollar scholarship 😳😞 but this year was by far the worst Miss USA and teen USA productions ever , I remember in years past they would have artists like Lady Gaga in 2008, Ricky Martian in 2001, Enrique iglesias in 1997, Pitbull , usher MANY others and hosts like Willam shatner, Naomi Campbell , Elle McPherson, Billy bush, Nick lachey , Nick Jonas etc etc now it’s an unknown guy and a gal off the bachelorette that didn’t win 😒 not even good background music, so very sad and I nearly fell off my chair when I saw your Miss teen review and her crown already broke , speaking of prizes do you remember years ago like in the late 90’s and early 2000’s the reigning title holder would show off all the prizes the new winner would get like jewels, furs, a 10,000 clothing shopping spree a NEW car etc her own apartment in NY, now what does she get a faux stone crown that breaks 20 minutes after being crowned and a years worth of belittling by Layla Rose? Like WTH 🤦🏻♂ seriously, so sad this has happened to a once vibrant, inspiring , entertaining organization 😢😢😢
The whole finale of Miss USA felt like a preliminary part of a pageant to me, really basic. If USA wants Alma to get to the Top 20 this year they have to improve quite a bit imo.
I always enjoy your videos, and man...this year's pageant was rough indeed. Things that would have improved the pageant: 1. Introducing the contestants while they are walking down Hollywood Walk of Fame dressed as bootleg Disney characters. 2. Substituting swimwear with scuba suits. 3. Substituting gowns with comfy sweats, since that seems to be what Miss USA will be wearing as she sits in her apartment in Miami watching Netflix instead of doing appearances and fashion shows. 4. Giving the winner a giant lollipop instead of those weird, sad flowers; it would have lasted longer. 5. Literally anything creative, entertaining, classy, or, you know...anything...
Rumors are circulating that Multiple sponsors like stuff Quennly app and Moudward dropped the pagent due to how Layla Rose treated people
Laylah Rose threw a tantrum because she lost the Mouawad sponsor, because UmaSofia had her Miss Teen USA crown broken and didn't fix it.
the sneaker drag is seeennnddiinnngg me 😂
I totally agree with you, Dani. I was disappointed with this year's Miss USA. I enjoyed previous Miss USA pageants which were more lively and entertaining in terms of stage performers. That aspect was missing from this Miss USA. I'm glad you mentioned this. I am thankful you got to experience Miss USA as a contestant when it was at its peak.
Agreed with u Dani. The saddest Miss US A ever. Even here In Indonesia , our stage Pageant looks bigger than 2024 USA . Such a Big Big power house country could only held a national Pageant like that? Someone need to step in to bring back all the "Why" ... So sad. ✌️
I could not help but go back to your review of Miss America 2024 and even Miss Earth USA 2024, and even watch those pageants. And I must say these 2 pageants made Miss USA 2024 a snoozefest. The opening numbers of Miss America and Miss Earth USA are more exciting and lets not forget, they have sponsors - Viscaya swimwear for Miss Earth USA for example. Unless they change management, Miss USA will go down.
@@EJA-hc3ex very true. Such different productions and contestant experiences
Dani, you are the best. The opening of your video made me laugh so much.
Thank you.
Very welcome :)
I miss the Vegas years!!! Miss USA pageant was on fire then!! Attended three times and still my favorite venue!! The ladies were EVERYWHERE!
Vegas was the default venue so I think it is best they go back there if the host city couldn’t even give the pageant some level of support.
You hit it perfectly. I wish to have this franchise and you run it.
Interesting that Alma already met a judge. I’d almost bet that the scoring was screwed against the top girls, that’s why you saw Texas, California, New York, Florida out earlier than expected.
I hope not, but my investigative mind is wondering.
Did you find it interesting that R'Bonney was sponsored by the sponsors at Miss USA? If not then you're a hypocrite.
I know that in the past, the judges should have no contact with any of the contestants.

Funny that I had the same observations... 😅
I didn't even know the Miss USA Pageant used to look like this!!
First of all, I am glad you validated my impression of the pageant and the contestants. I stopped watching after they named the top 5 because they were so lackluster...I definitely agree that a number of contestants with stage presence and sprakle (Va, especially) were overlooked even after outstanding prelims and during the show.......I don't expect much success in Miss Universe unless there is a lot of training for the new Miss USA.....
I feel like R’Bonney will be the last Miss USA - Miss Universe winner. (At least in the next 20 years).
It'll be a loooong time until we get another win, with this type of effort.
wow! i like this Dani - very honest and bold
Venue sounded empty tbh. Felt like there were less than 500 people inside
@@duanerivera8723 very low viewership too :(
You are so perfect Dani. You must join Miss USA despite your age. Let’s see how you’ll fare. Maybe you’ll get the title. Go Dani!
@@filipinofilipina7575 awww so sweet. I already competed and they only allow you to go once.
