Thank you for checking out this episode friends!! This one came in highly requested! Is there another pageant you'd like me to recap next? If you haven't caught up on all my recent recaps, don't forget, you can find them here >>> bit.ly/3knJQ4k
Not related to Miss SA. Just wanted to know your thoughts on Franki Russell's issue on Miss Universe. It's on Tito Boy Abunda's yt.
Hi Dani , if you have time I strongly suggest you watch another African pageant for Miss Universe : Miss Namibia Universe
Can you, please, make a review on Miss Universe Nigeria? Thank you
Miss South Africa organization must invite you to be a judge next year. It will be great having you as 1 of the judges. ❤❤❤
That’d be incredible ❤
Same
I concur ❤
OMG, that would be great to see her live at the SunBet Arena ❤
Right!!!!!
Mia has the qualities of a good leader. She's self-aware,perseverant and calm. She's kind, genuine and approachable. She's someone we can trust.I love her!
Such a great choice 👑💕
Mia is our very first deaf Miss South Africa and because of her deafness it also affects her balance and she hear sound very different from us I'm so proud of Mia Congratulations queen 😍💖🤗
Your pronunciation of ‘Nompumelelo’ was perfect. I was rooting for both her and Mia. And they were too 2. Bonang served with her looks 😍
Thank you so much
Thanks for the review of our pageant 🎉 I am glad you enjoyed it :) Mia is so good at answering any question really - she has had some post win interviews which have just shown how smooth she is when discussing just about any topic. I do wish they could encourage people entering the competition to work on their runway walk prior to entering - it would add to the experience if they had that skill, I am sure. The public often asks, on the Miss SA social media pages, why the contestants can't walk well.
Often times I feel like it’s easier to make great strides improving a walk vs improving communication skills. It’s a necessary part of prep, but I can see why there’s a greater emphasis on speaking skills.
@@DaniWalkeryes articulated elegant poetic speaking with strength is good sometimes we pull too much culture to be proud of our selves but it is less important than getting strength behind the missions and voices
Did you see the prize package??? wow.... it looks better than Miss Universe.... I couldn't believe Miss USA couldn't do a final production like this
I did!! It's amazinnnngg!
Apparently the home and car are just for their one year term.
@@antonjoseph789 yes, that’s typical for pageant prize packages
The R1m is a huge salary for one year, the average annual salary is about R250k. And all other expenses, such as utilities, cellphone, and even some groceries and medical bills are paid for. She will live in luxury for a year, be flown all over for charities, photo shoots, etc., all expenses paid. She will be pampered, taken good care of and trained vigourously for the international competition(s). The Miss SA org is a serious business! She will also get good financial advice as to what to do with her prize money, and will most probably be able to buy a luxury car later cash, and even put down a deposit on her own house.
After her year of reign, Miss SA is not forgotten. They are pretty much celebrities who will be involved in future pageants, and will still be involved in their causes and welcomed with open arms everywhere in SA.
And she got 100k followers in less than a week her interviews are PACKED!!! She was even on BBC Africa that’s incredible
And I love that we get to see her get her gifts we got to see the apartment Passover and car !
Thank you for supporting Miss SA! I watched the show live on the app, and I was never bored, everything was so well coordinated and entertaining. The judges were top notch and very well informed, three of them were there throughout Crown Chasers, and really saw the ladies growing. Miss SA is not about cookie cutter looks and they really want the winner to plough back into our local communities with strong advocacies.
Mia is so unique, the first deaf woman to win the title. She got a cochlear implant when she was 2 years old, after her whole community raised the funds. She then went through intense speech therapy to hear human speech, and said her first words at age 4, in Afrikaans, her first language. She went on to learn English as a second language, as well as SA sign language. She lip reads to get the full message from other people. She wants to advocate for subtitling on especially TV news programmes, as not all deaf children actually get the chance to learn sign language, due to lack of resources. She said that subtitles on news programmes will include more deaf and hearing-impaired people.
And can we have a shout out to the whole show also being signed, which is our 12th official language in South Africa.
How I wish Miss USA 2024 pageant was done in like this style like how this year's Miss South Africa pulled off the show. 💁
@@zacflaneurnz me too 😭
I appreciate how you broke down every aspect of the show. You actually pronounced most of the names correctly.
One thing I love about my country is that we really know how to put on an outstanding production. Mia is going to be an excellent Miss South Africa. 🇿🇦
South African women are inspiring to me like no other. Mia seems like a lovely, articulate, and humbly powerful woman. Also loved everything Natasha was able to accomplish and what a treat to see her from her first year in Miss SA to now crowning her successor. I love this pageant ❤
Same here ❤
Gaaaalll!!!, take your 👑. I don't know how you do it. Your research and background knowledge on all the countries' pageantry is TOP tier, well done 👌👏. By the way, your name pronunciation of the contestants is spot on 🥳❤️
Thank you so much! That is so kind of you to say 🥹
Mia is Going to universe, the crown chasers are international
Dear Dani,
Thank you for consistently sharing such insightful reviews! I’ve been eagerly awaiting this episode, especially as a proud South African. I love how you break everything down so thoughtfully. The MISS SA Organization truly outdoes itself with every production, from the fashion to the hair, the looks, and everything in between. What I admire most is how MISS SA celebrates and supports women, providing them with the best platform to speak about the causes they are passionate about. And yes, the prize package for the winner is absolutely top-tier! I hope that one day you’ll have the chance to experience MISS SA live, and that I’ll get to meet you there too-it would be incredible!
If you saw the transformation of Bryoni last year, it indicates the training that Mia will go through before MU. She will be transformed. I'm pleased with the result, but I'd like to see Onshiametse (my favorite) and Nompumelelo (great smile, great orator) return for another shot at the crown. ❤🎉
@@AndreDMalan1966 same here! South Africa has no shortage of qualified contestants. I’d love to see more returners.
Nompumelelo placed top 5 in 2019 pageantry does take a toll on you mentally she did great though
@@lungilelinda604 I agree. She has nothing to be ashamed of. Gorgeous girl.
Just to answer your question. Yes, Crown Chases was broadcasted on Saturday evenings on national TV
Love it watched everything
Miss USA producers and staff THIS IS HOW OUR CONTESTANTS SHOUKD BE SHOWCASED - this is what royalty looks like - designer’s working with the girls - what an unforgettable experience - no excuse in the world why the USA can’t put on a production like this
@@user-hb8yu8yt9d 👏👏👏I agree
Brilliant commentary. As usual, you are the best on RUclips when it comes to presenting these pageants. You are never boring and are detailed without overdoing it. Congrats!
Wow! Thank you so much for that compliment ❤
Wow!!! What a show and the winner is Gorgeous!!😍Love the African print you're wearing Dani!!🐯❤
She is! Oh my goodness, I didn’t even plan that lol 🐆
South Africa should host the next Miss Universe!
I remember they were supposed to host the 1996 event in Johannesburg, but it fell through and it was eventually held in Las Vegas
Do you see South Africa Hosting Miss Universe next time. Soon?
Mia was awesome. Dani thank you for showing other beauty pageants outside the US
My pleasure!!
We host pageants with amazing production values 10/10 ...best pageant in the world😊
Yes you do!
I wanted Nompomelelo to win. She performed the best imo.
Hi Dani , totally thrilled that you eventually posted this video! Really appreciate it that you are such a fan & had so many positive responses for the entire show ! I’m an ex South African now living in England but Miss SA has always been one of my favourite pageants dating back to 1975 when I started following! Mia is an icon already since her win ! Not only is she inspirational, beautiful but she also has a fantastic sense of humour! I will recommend some interviews since her crowning ! One thing you missed: Bryoni was actually given a special segment in recognition of her amazing representation of SA in 2 International competitions!
Miss South Africa, looks more expensive than Miss America and Miss USA.
The hair, fashion and production, wow.
Absolutely, the full season of crown chasers is weekly broadcasted on a local telly station in South Africa called S3. As well as the finale show.
I love that! I also love that I’m able to access for free as well ❤
Lyla kept that Swim suite modest because of her religious background and what I love and appreciate about Miss SA they allow you to present yourself anyhow you feel comfortable
Ohhh, I didn't know that. I thought she looked beautiful :)
But will it work on a Miss universe stage? I wonder
@@Tony-z4n Yeah it will, countries like somalia are covered during swimwear.
I personally think that Mai was a great contestant and she definitely was a clear winner and not only she need training on her walk but also to express herself more but she's drop dead gorgeous
Yes 👏👏👏
Being deaf and having the hearing in plant makes it difficult to distinguish between different sounds like the speaking, singing, music and applause... It altogether just register as a big unbearable noise and that has an influence of a person's balance, that's where here stiff walking comes in. Hope she will master that problem before getting to Mexico. Im sure she and organization have a back up plan already. Hope the Miss Universe will accommodate her with her disabilitie. Thanks for the lovely review.
That crown is incredible and so unique!
Thank you for a GREAT review Dani! Mia is already making history in South Africa and her story will be refreshing and unique at miss.Universe. Margaret Gardiner from South-Africa was crowned miss.Universe in Mexico in 1978, let's see what will happen in Mexico this coming November...
Oh! That's a fun bit of history! Thanks for sharing!
WOW! Interesting, furthermore,Zozibini Tunzi crowned Mexico in 2020 & Mexico was her 2nd runner-up at Miss Universe 2019. The intricacies between these two countries in pageantry are fascinating.
Bonang never misses. She should host Miss Universe at this point!
I'd love to see her there!!!
Our Bonang also look stunning ❤❤❤❤❤
She always is
The Newly Crowned Miss South Africa Universe Mia Le Roux is defelinately going to do well at the Miss Universe pageant 2024 and who knows she might just walk away as the Miss Universe 2024 Winner because she is unique and very beautiful and educated!!!.
Good Luck Miss South Africa Universe Mia Le Roux 2024 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
You look amazing, Dani. Rooting for Mia Le Roux. ❤
Thank you!! 💕
You got me when you mentioned the similarity between the gown of Natasha Joubert and the 2019 Venezuelan winner. Our girl Dani is an encyclopedia of pageants like "guys her shoes reminds me of that girl's from the Miss Angola 2005 semi-final dance number between the swim and gown segments just in a slightly different shade" 🤣
I am really not worried about mastering the technicalities of her walk. She has modelling experience, and the organization will definitely put in the work to improve it. I'm curious to see her performances especially because hearing loss can affect balance and movement. And on stage as big as Miss Universe where there's going to be a lot of sound and lighting, and the audience screaming (just a lot going on), I am keen to see how she performs in that environment.
she performed in miss sa so i dont think it will be that much of a challenge
Omg I felt so bad to the one finalist that botched her answer on the final question 😮😢
I think a swimsuit walk goes to the beat of the music. Mia can't hear the music so I think it was difficult for her to walk well in swim. But that is just my theory.
Watching from the Philippines 🇵🇭
Welcome to the episode 😄
1million Rand is def a LOTSSS in SA it’s def live changing plus all this collaboration and just making a name for herself. Incredible.
Her life has definitely changed ! 😍
That's incredible, thank you for that context!
The stage was beautiful but it had to many stairs and the stage was to small for them to walk properly
I have been waiting for this !!! Thank you for always giving us good vibes Dani 💕
You are so welcome!
We love Mia
A million rand is decent in SA! The thing about MSA is that they do a lot of training but i feel they fall short at miss universe and then at Supra they nail it. Thanks for your video on SA, always appreciated!
Dani, Mia reminds me of Madison Miss SD from your Miss USA batch! 🥹
Ohhh I can see that!
Great reaction Dani. I do agree Miss South Africa Mia is powerful in question and answer her I no doubt that she will play in Miss Universe. My only worry is on stage presentation, she is very weak they really have to work on her coz that might hinder chance to move forward.
Great outfits, amazing contestants, and a very attractive pageant winner! I love you.
Love you too!
Miss South Africa contestants were looking so good on stage.
Btw your surgeon did a great job. 🙏😊👌
Great commentary Dani as always. Crown Chasers does broadcast on SABC 3 which is a local channel in South Africa
Thank you very much!
Bonang (pronounced Bo-naang) should present miss universe. we have been saying this for years.
Or Miss Supranational - They have been getting hosts from SA for the last 2 years.
I thought Natasha was bomb beautiful but Mia's beauty is angelic ❤
Thank you for covering our pageant 🎉
Very welcome :)
Thanks!
WOW!! This is a wonderful surprise!! Thank you for your generosity!! I really appreciate you supporting this channel and all the work that goes into it! 🫶🏼 I'm touched!
@@DaniWalker - you’re most welcome! You’re such a sincere, kind and caring person. I’ll never forget your kind words to me a few years back after Trump lost the election (yes, I’m a Trump supporter). I was crushed, and for some reason I mentioned it in the comments of one of your videos. You responded with a very touching message. This was at a time when the rest of the world was turning against us. I’ll never forget. Thank you!

Hi miss dani i really appreciate ur content miss universe india will be held in sept all the state winner have been announced. With change of organisation this will surely be an exciting year for india. The new organisation also send delegates to miss international, grand, cosmo etc. Would love to hear ur first impressions of the delegates. Shukriya from india
Love you Dani, from SA, yes Crownchasers is streamed on SABC3 which is a national station over here, Mia is indeed the first deaf Miss SA and i am so excited for that, i think the staging was a bit compact so she couldn't really give a her best performance in walk but i know the Miss SA team will prepare her well, I really enjoy your videos.
“don’t look down cause the stage isn’t going anywhere” lol don’t say that at Miss USA! Half the crew fell into the alligator pit! 😂
Do Miss International queen 2024 babe ❤❤❤
I love Mia as our Miss SA but I wanted Nompumelelo to go to Miss Universe 😭🥺
Thanks for always share your great reviews on miss S.A

I knew it! You're glowing, I just couldn't tell why and how. But now I know. ❤❤🎉

Oh yes, veryyy busy lately. Fashion week is coming so soon!

You look absolutely fresh and gorgeous!
@@dexterechiverri6631 thank you ☺️
Finally ,we have been waiting for too long ❤❤❤❤❤
I appreciate you being patient!
Hi Danni MIa will struggle with rhythm counts during choreography, due to her hearing loss she cannot hear the beat of the music like hearing-able people can. She has to feel it, also stairs can be problematic as with hearing loss there is also a balance loss when you walking. She is amazing and definitely a fighter, Miss SA will work diligently with her, but we accept that it will be challenging task. She has a message as the first deaf Miss South Africa she is already uniting fans during her first media week as MIss SA everyone is smitten with her.
I love this
Hey get ready for miss universe India feel like whole conteinen participate in state formate❤
Yes Dani Crown chasers was available to watch on S3 every Saturday which is one of our local channels.
Hi Dani!!! I have a question please..... In your esteemed opinion how does Miss SA as a competition compare to others world wide??? Does it look the same? Do other pageant nights differ in some other areas??? Thank you so much for reviewing our Miss SA!
The most important thing that people need to understand is we want to see the girls. Let them shine, give them their moments. Take note Laylah 😅
@@HelloNF yessss, more girls, always ☺️
The Nompumelelo girl said "When I say I'll rise like a rising phoenix" in her top 3 answer. Not the previous top5 phrase you alluded.
Mia just gives me Olivia Culpo vibes very Barbie like!
Yes the Crown Chasers is broadcast on national television SABC

Miss South Africa organization always get it right. Such a beautiful production, if Miss SA can give such a production, Miss USA no excuses for that production

Crown chasers was shown on national television and on Miss SA app
Ahhh you doing sooouth Africa. I haven't watched the rest of the video ..
5:14 That's remarkable that MSOA is not a "solo" or "dedicated" pageant-- unlike most of the MU franchise holders. The same can be said for Miss France. It seems JKN cannot "push" SOA and FRA to bow down to their "rules". 🙂
One of the contestants that withdrew is now MU Nigeria.
Thank you for the recap❤❤
hello Dani I have followed you for so long ❤I really hope one day you will make video on miss international queen trans pagent ❤
Like Natasha last year, Nompumelelo was a runaway success throughout the Crown Chaser season & her performance was the best on crowning night, from her energetic & fun walk to her confident & spot on answers. She didn’t repeat anything actually, if you listen carefully. Ontshiametsi, Mia & Onalenna have gorgeous faces. Ontshi’s Q&A was as strong as Mia’s, Layla’s & Nompu’s but she was even better with her walk, after Nompumelelo. I guess the judges wanted representation & inclusion story, which was excellently covered by Mia this year. 🙌🏾
