This! Balance is key. I always thought school is that first stepping stone for a career. And a career is a stepping stone to living the life you want. So it is okay to pass your classes just enough to be deemed valuable by your first employer. After the first employer, nobody looks at your school or accolades anymore. It is all about your ability to understand the industry you chose and what you can contribute that makes you a valuable hire.
But also, at the end of the day, the bigger picture is that a job pays your bills and supports the lifestyle you want. So having a clear picture of what life you want will dictate the rest.

Did Elon musk, mark, donald, kamala ect did they do all of this? No . ppl deaf abt highschool but how successful you are in your current life.
I promise you, you might think working harder is smart but it's not. Unless it's a personal thing.. 100% HELL TO THA NAW NAW.. all of what she did means nothing but getting into a good college where most the students there barely did half of what she did and would probably be just as well off as her, she traded her freedom for some fabric. When her gpa alone and one activity would get her in the same place she needs to go..bcs trust me this society and epidemic is not worth all that for you to be wasting away your life for a number and fabric and college. People are wowed because she did a lot not because of what she actually did.

@@filipemartinho1753 its a lengthy unnecessary tool. Imagine it like a trashcan, the overfilling it is dead weight that will have to be knocked off to the ground.
All you need to do is one sport, club or smt like volunteering and you'll be fine in getting into whatever college with a good gpa. Doing all of this doesn't insure a good or bright future and vice versa. No job is gonna say "oh you did this in highschool welp here you go"
All this stress now then going to college where you'll probably be in debt, working and stressing then having to find a job after no matter the pay you're still gonna have to work. Ppl say cherish your youth for a reason. Her doing 80% of that was worthless just for some fabric on her graduation day that no one is gonna remember in 2 weeks. This doesn't matter at all when she gets into college she is gonna be on the same equal scale as everyone else who didn't do all of that.

Guys I’m a try hard in school as well, but this is too much. You only need maybe two of the awards to set you apart from others. Colleges would accept you even without half of those achievements and work places don’t care about them. You’re just wasting your time so you could act like you’re better then everyone else, trust me. All you need are good grades and the rest will fall into place.

If u hv good scores and more achievements u can get good scholarships and into good colleges and pave ur way thru life, work the best u can not that u hv to be on top tho. Also it's a proud moment for her to see all that she'saccomplished and worked for, nobody has to prove stuff to anyone but themselves

I was an honor student in my childhood, and some
time when sht hit the fan I stopped getting awards and all that. It was a painful process to realize my identity and self worth was centered on my intellect, and when I didn't have the concrete validations from that anymore, I was a heckin mess and it was so hard to find happiness and confidence outside of academics. I'm better now but I wish I didn't focus too much on things that didn't really matter in the long run.

So girl, don't blame yourself or feel bad if you have to wait months like the rest of us to find jobs. Because it's not you, it's today's work-life. Know and understand that you were already made perfect. Everyone is made perfect. And you don't need validation from others or even yourself to be perfect. You already are. The two most important things in life are love and joy. I hope all your previous hard work pays off, and if it doesn't, just know that there are several other people who have been in the same situation or similar. You don't need validation. You just need to live YOUR life to the fullest.

Nowadays it's rarer for people to show academic achievements online and everything is abt influencers and fitness etc..even then there's a alot more normalizing going around than earlier. Yet despite that, they find a way to uplift each other up as a community and discourage sacrificing your personal life for your career. So like you said, they are getting “checked out” by each other.
