  • Part 1 ends at the time which the camera battery died.
1988 Toyota Pickup 4x4 Xtra cab. 22RE was knocking, title was lost, and it had a drop bracket lift which meant the factory suspension points were cut off. At this point, it had been sitting roughly 10 years. This truck donated the manual transmission and all related components to my 1987 4Runner turbo.
The cab from this truck was sold to a guy who had a low speed off road roll over, he put his truck back together.
I traded the straight frame from this truck to a guy who had an accident. He traded me his damaged frame plus cash. I cut off the front half of the damaged frame and used the rear portion as the basis for a truck-bed trailer. A 3x3 beam connects the two frame rail ends, another perpendicular 3x3 beam extends out for the coupler mount. The A-frame is finished off with 2 4" c-channel beams. The stock Toyota 4x4 rear leafs are in use with a standard 3" trailer axle, 6x139.7 bolt pattern. It works great off road and has great utility with the original Toyota bed and tailgate. Even the tail lights and signals are wired to function like factory.

Awesome looking Yota. By any chance would you know what lift was on it? I love the height and stance. Thank you

The truck had a trailmaster 4" drop bracket lift kit on it. It was more show than go - it rode terribly. The rear had lift blocks. The lift was not really very functional and didn't improve the ground clearance one bit. The tires are 33x12.5x15 BFG MT's, lots of beef. Those are on my 87 4Runner turbo today.
