Great video as always Mark, I was fortunate to do this journey in 2011 as part of my Great Rail Race. The staff onboard were so friendly (and on the buses in Belfast), and it's a wonderful way to travel :)

Pre-book your ticket if possible and bring your own food and drink as sandwiches and tea/coffee can be quite expensive if you're travelling on a budget. This train cannot be compared to the likes of the City of New Orleans but it was ok for the price paid (€30 return) Overall i'd give it a 6/10. I noticed that the Northern Irish trains were a lot cleaner looking than their republic counterparts. Note to Irish rain. Clean your trains.

Mm quick note for any non UK or non Irish passport holders thinking of travelling on the good old Enterprise. Soon the now non EU UK is to impose on such people (eg a Dutch or US traveller on the train going north) some visa restrictions!! Both NI Tourism and Irish Tourism plus the Irish Govt have protested. Whilst the UK can impose this on any train or scheduled coach going north, I cant see how they are going to be able to enforce thus on anyone travelling by car across the 300 or so miles of many open border points. Daft oh and BTW, NI voted 56% Bremain in the 2016 UK Referendum!!

Don't you have to clear customs when going to Northern Ireland?

No. The border is now practically invisible. The only way of knowing you have passed into N.I. is the occasional glimpse of a petrol station with prices in sterling.

@@novatiberium The Common Travel Area is older than the Schengen Area (and includes the Isle of Man).
