- I'm finally starting to feel adjusted here in London! I definitely feel like I'm learning something new every minute (like flipping a switch to turn the oven on), but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I've received quite a few requests to do a Q&A about my London move in an upcoming video! Please reply with your questions below! 💕😊
Was your process for enrollment the same as here in the states?
Do you plan to live in London after u finish your program? Also this is totally not related but what camera do you use to vlog
Would you visit any other cities around in England?
How have you adjusted to the different lifestyle from back in the states? Is there any differences?
I’m actually obsessed with this series! Please keep these vlogs coming. Also cheaper supermarket alternatives are, Lidl, Aldi, Iceland, farm foods! Also maybe buying meats and chickens are butchers may be cheaper than in supermarkets xxx
The switch is on the wall so kids can't turn the stove on. Safety!
smart!
ohhhh !!! we don't have that either here in France. That's good especially when the oven is low.
I am enjoying this journey
The wall fuse is a new safety regulation. We didn't have one growing but we recently had a new kitchen installed and we now have a wall fuse. it prevents kids or absent minded adults from being able to turn on the gas supply to the oven by accident. I guess it equals less fires and explosions.
Yes,please keep up the London vlogs, I really enjoy them, so exciting!
so happy you're enjoying them!
my son studied abroad this past summer in Scotland and Ireland and loved it! ! he's 17 and actually didn't want to come home lol I would love to visit again with him showing me around .
You are dealing so good with everything but seeing how Americans are struggling with stuff that are so obvious for Europeans is sooooo weird sometimes! I just found you on RUclips! I am starting at University of Greenwich this fall! I know its going to be a hard start cause I am not from UK but not as for you probably. Anyways it made me so happy to look at you being so positive and definitely I am staying here for longer!
Remember you can only use Contactless up to the value of £30 only on each purchase. If it’s over £30 you have use chip & pin. Also if you just use contactless on too many purchases for a few weeks; your card may decline. But if this happens don’t worry just say to the cashier I will try using the same card via chip and pin and then it will work. This is because banks sometimes block contactless use for precaution...but don’t worry, contactless will resume again after 24 hours once you have used the chip and pin method.
wow thank you for this tip! definitely something good to know!
Paige Mariah You’re so welcome. Btw your so inspirational taking a huge leap outside your comfort zone and living in a new country.
I could really relate to your grocery shop vid. As I spent a few months in the US & I had to get use to the prices and in some cases no expiry dates on some products in Publix. However I absolutely loooved the Customer Services in the US; unfortunately the U.K. just doesn’t have it....Hope I haven’t made you feel too homesick by saying that lol. Anyway enjoy your stay 😃
You’re adjusting well. They’re so many differences but you’re staying calm and getting through. Thanks for sharing your journey with us. I’m loving it! ❤️
Yes I’d love to know what made you go to grad after working for a couple years, the application process and why London and not a regular US grad school program? Thanks for sharing your series as well!
Two years later these videos are so helpful! Im moving to London next year for my bachelor's!
You’re making me wish I had go abroad to get my masters degree. I love watching your journey. I can’t wait to see your fitness journey as well as hair journey. Will you be working in London as well?
thanks so much girl!! I'll be sharing it all. RUclips is currently my job 😊
I’m so excited to take this journey with you Paige ! Congrats on everything!
thanks so much Timika!!
I love how you are easing yourself into organizing instead of trying to do everything upfront. You aren’t overwhelming yourself. It’s inspiring to watch. Good luck with your studies!
thanks so much!!
It's nice to see how things are going well for you in London.
I’ve just discovered your channel , I’m loving your studying abroad vlogs. As well as your travel and just the whole experience of moving and getting adjusted because it’s something I’ve always thought about and it’s very enlightening to follow along with you.
thank you so much Lisa, I'm glad you're enjoying them!!
I love your videos! Just been binge watching 🤓💕
Thanks so much for watching!! Glad you enjoy 😊😊
Her voice would be good for an audio meditation lol she's so calm
I remember reading one of the twilight books years ago... the writer mentioned it was 100° and my 14 year old self was hella confused. How i are they even alive when thats as hot as the actual sun. Then realised theres more than one unit to measure heat. Its Fahrenheit not Celsius
You are right. We don't have to turn on switches before using the oven, So I would have been lost just like you. Glad to know before I come visit the UK. Never know if I need to cook while I'm there! As always Great video; you are adjusting just fine
YOU are a breath of fresh air😃 I hope you are enjoying your time in London! I lived there many year ago in Harrow and i had a blast! Wish you all the BEST!!! 😃
thank you SO much!
What a sweet girl! Best of luck with your studies. You are adjusting so well, congratulations! London
awww thanks SO much Jill!
Please do a Q&A video! I would love to hear about how you tackled the personal statement, etc. Looks like things are going well so far! I'm so happy for you! London is the greatest city on earth!
I am proud of you. You are in my prayers. Thanks for sharing aspects of your life.
I feel like I'm just getting use to the chip too. Looking forward to a room tour 💜
I'm so excited for you Paige!! I really enjoy seeing all the 'simple' things that go into your move. Can't wait to see more!!
thanks so much for watching!!
Congrats on starting your classes! So exciting!
Hey, thanks so much for sharing your journey. Your attitude is inspiring, your positivity and honesty are both great.
It’s so easy for vloggers who are living in another country to be really judgemental about their host country’s culture and ways of working. You are the complete opposite, interested, excited and easygoing.
I’m also studying for my masters at a London University part time, whilst working full time at another University. It’s really interesting seeing what London is like for someone who isn’t from here and all the annoying life admin that international students need to do to get sorted. I’m going to make all my colleagues watch so we are more understanding of international students.
Thanks again,
Hi Jay! Thank you so much for watching and for your kind words. It's so cool that you'll be able to use my vlogs as a tool to better understand your international students!
Thanks for sharing your journey, I love watching your video! 😁
thanks so much for watching!
Can you please do a video explaining your gym routine over the week. Like do you only focus on one area each time you Go? How many times do you go and what type of exercise do you do each time? I love watching your videos, you inspire me to do better, aim higher and achieve more so Thank you and thank you for creating the Facebook group! 🙌😊
Love it, this is taking me back to my days at Greenwich. Glad that you are settling in & the course is going well 😀
thanks so much Rochelle!!
Everything is so different in the UK 🇬🇧
hahah is it really? I never notice till I watch through others eyes.
why type UK and GB ?
its better, i been usa, but uk is similar to usa
I've just binge watched all of your London vlogs. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 please keep it coming! Love it! I'm in Australia and can't wait to move over with my family.
so glad you're enjoying the blogs Cass!
I am loving these vlogs. It has been my dream to move to London. I am living this adventure through you! ❤️
New subscriber from London....binge watched your vlogs.
Please do a q&a video. I am really excited to watch your journey in London and want to know more about how you applied for grad school there.
In your own home kitchen you wouldnt have to turn the oven on at the wall, but i spose in a communal kitchen it's safety first!
Just came across your vlogs. I'm a grandmother but really am enjoying watching you. My dream has to always been to go to the UK. My one granddaughter thought she would do her Masters there but it didn't happen $$. Oh by the way I'm in a Chicago burb and grew up in the city. It's so interesting seeing the shops etc. something I've always wondered about so please keep them up. Can you give a tour of your room, is it like a dorm in the US? My granddaughter graduates this Spring with her MBA in archival studies in Boston. Best of luck to you.
It is so important to take vitamin supplements each day. It may help you with your energy level, and adjust to the time change and accomplish everything each day
That Celsius vs Farenheit would confuse the heck out of me especially with weather temperatures...like what bruh give me a sec to get my Google on!!!! Glad you're getting adjusted.
Loving your vlogs. 😍 I was born in the UK and miss it. I’m definitely due for a visit. It is an adjustment. I’m looking forward to seeing more of your journey.
Yaaaas to moving to London and doing YOU! What are you getting your Masters in?
thank you SO much!! strategic marketing 😊
Go Paige go Paige! So happy to see you adjusting so well to LDN life, congrats its such a big move and you should be super proud of what you have achieved thus far. Can't wait for your training vlogs and its about to get real cold so wrap up :)
Nice, glad you're getting things sorted.
Thank God I found your channel, it's been so helpful! It's been my dream to move abroad to England since I was little, & I want to move to Manchester! Recently I found out I'm actually a British citizen as well as a US one, so I'm gathering as much info as I can. Glad you mentioned getting a bank account, I've been wondering about what sort of banks are even there.
so happy that you find my videos helpful!!
Aww you seem like such a sweet soul Paige!! 🤗😊
Watching this reminds me so much of my own journey. I got to the UK in September 2018 and gurrrrl I understand ur struggle! I be askng all my flatmates how to use the oven, the stove, the laundry everything. I low key felt kind of dumb lol. But its just a process. I remember how weird i thought it was for even the plug sockets to have switches much less the stove!
hahahah yesss currently going through the same thing!!
I just binge watched all your moving vlogs, loving them so far girl! I live in south east London not far from Greenwich :) interested to see more of your time as you settle in 💕
I will rock your master's degree I am sure. ❤ I just returned and finished last semester my MBA after working for years. Best of success to you dear.
I live in London and I have both contactless and a normal debit card. The issue I have with contactless cards is that if you lose it, anyone could pick it up and use it before you cancel the card.
I couldn't wait for the next vlog! You are so brave. I will be moving to England soon too and you are so helping gain courage!♥️😍
I came across your youtube chanel by an accident today and been watching your videos for almost 2 hours ....so girrrl...you got yourself a new subscriber :) I come from the Czech republic and moved to the UK in 2011. I absolutely loved it there but unfortunately I left last year. I found myself a french boyfriend and followed him to France. It's been tough and sometimes I wish I had never left England but its getting better :) I really hope and believe that you are gonna have the best time over there...because I did 😘 so good luck in your new chapter of your life...it will be worth it ❤️ btw. I am really happy you liked my country 😍
wow that's awesome!! thank you so much for the well wishes 😊😊
Here's a tip I cleared my phone and took a picture of each page of my main text book or just the part I was working with just in case it goes back you can skip through your phone as needed 😁 it stopped me having to buy them.
Really enjoy watching your videos! Please keep them coming. Glad I found your channel
thank you for watching!!
I found you in my suggestions and I've been hooked since! It's crazy to see the UK through an Americans eyes, kinda made me love my country even more and I hope you are loving it too! Also as if you don't have contactless payments in the States! I hope you aren't too homesick and are making lots of friends!
that means sooo much! thank you for watching!!
Just stumbled across your videos by chance and can only say welcome to greenwich :D was super surprised we are studying at the same uni.
Little secret tip: if you run out of the £7 on the app you can simply create a new account with a new email and they give you another £7 credit, so you can basically wash your clothes for free ;)
Also the gym at avery is pretty awesome so you should definitely check it out!
Do you think you could maybe do a room tour? I'm thinking about moving to this accommodation next year as I'll turn 25 and will be elegible for a spot there, however, I haven't really seen any of the rooms and the photos online don't really provide a lot of info so it would be great to see what I'll be getting myself into and just the general layout :)
Love your vlogs btw so I'll def keep watching!💕
Circuit laundry is literally satan himself lol, so many people have had issues with it including myself. Last semester I had to get rid of the whole app, get a laundry card from my accommodation reception and use that instead. loved today's vlog btw 💘
You can still use a chip! Contactless is only for £30 or under xx
That detergent looks super convenient though and I love that it's still a liquid. Also wish I could pay for my laundry through an app🙂
Just discovered your channel and I've binged watched since this morning haha loving the London vlogs. I wonder what are the requirements for grade school in the UK ? when doing the admission process (I'm not from the US btw 🇫🇷)
U are so funny and courageous. I'm so proud of you!
awww thank you SO much!!
Love your vlogs it takes me back to my time last year. I'd suggest downloading the app citymapper it's literally a life saver helps with getting to and from one place to another in london. It tells you the exact bus stop or station. ♡
I have citymapper now! 😊
Yo I had the same issues when I went to Miami...It took a while but I got there in the end when it came to laundry and using the oven in Fahrenheit
I really enjoy all of your London videos so much! But I'm definitely here for the Q&A video too! I'm really interested in how you're funding your master's program. I know you previously said you're living off your savings but are you also using any scholarships, financial aid, or fellowship grants too? And did you have a sort of international advisor to walk you through the whole admissions process or did you just do all the research and applying on your own? And lastly, how many schools did you apply to and how did you narrow it down to find a university with a credible marketing program? Sorry for all the questions! And thank you for your always lovely videos!💕
You're doing great. Hang in there.
OMG I am very interested in learning about how your process was. I am thinking of doing schooling over there.
Do you have any concerns in writing papers? Even though we both speak the same language, British English can be a bit different from the English in the states. You may want to go on some websites and check out the library at your college to find information that will give you some general differences between the US and the UK that will help you adjust to your new surroundings.
Truly enjoying your vlog and learning so much in the process. A Q&A would be awesome. Oh, btw I'm from the USA Thank you until the next time.
My hometown is Richmond, Virginia. How did you like Hampton? 💕
I loved Hampton!!
Thank you for the video, I want to see how you’ve decorated your space where are you putting all your clothes? Are you finding proper makeup and haircare products?
You're acting like she's in the jungle or the middle of no where 😂😂😂 She's in London where it's very diverse and there are lots of black beauty products, particularly in Greenwich and Lewisham area which is where she is. Sure enough it might not be as large as the US in terms of quanity & range but considering the fact that she's still in London she'll be fine. Should she move out of London into the other parts of the UK, let's say the south-west or something or even up north, availability and accessibility decreases drastically
we're all learning here! it's okay to ask 😊
I think I'll do a room tour soon! I haven't gone looking for making or hair care products yet because I brought some things with me from home
Yes do a Q&A about moving to London!
Great video. Thanks!
Congratulations i see your fitting in. You'll be fine it's a new experience enjoy sis👍 much 💘
thank you so much!!
Thanks for sharing some academic details! I’ve been out of undergrad almost 3 years and just working too. Definitely anxious to jump back in. Are you interested in trying to stay and work on London?
Well they help me each day. I take turmeric, apple cider Vinegar, liquid vitamin D, vitamin C, and a probiotic.
Yes, please do a Q&A 😊
So excited and happy for you! You seem to be adjusting very well. Don’t be nervous at all! You’ll do absolutely wonderful because you are meant to be there! Keep encouraging and inspiring Queen! 🙌🏽💜🙏🏽
that really means a lot, thank you!!
I enjoyed sharing this experience with you.
Im manchester uk , best washing power / gel us Bold and comfert or Lenor to soften then . Can ger these from any super market . X
Really enjoying your vlogs!
OMGoodness I am enjoying watching your progress, so excited for you. My question is hopefully not too nosy, but did you save up for grad school (internationally) ? so yes I am interested in the process. But even if you wish to keep that private, congratulations on this new chapter.
Looking forward to the room tour you promised.
I've never heard of that bank, but I know there are a lot on online only ones so that must be one. But just a heads up, contactless cards are WAY cheaper that Oyster. They cap out at a certain amount per day instead of constantly topping up :) (I'm not 100% sure of amounts, especially during the week as I generally am only in London on weekends) but it should save you some pennies hopefully 😁 good luck with everything! I've only just found your channel and you seem to be adjusting really well 😊 xx
It depends-if you use an oyster on the bus and again within that hour its free, where as if you use your contactless bank card-you have to pay for both trips within the hour.
@@optimisticrealismx5829 Ah thanks, I didn't know that :)
How crazy is that laundry system. 😁🐝👖👕Electric ovens ..hey...🙄
Do you have a planner/timetable/bulletjournal?
Leaving the country was such a good choice rn ! Will you only be in school or will you be working too ? I’ve been enjoying watching your journey!
The communal kitchen is interesting! Did you have buy your own pots and pans or is it a free for all? So crazy! The card chip thing is crazy too! They've been using the chip for years before we got it in the US. I almost panicked when I was over there because I didn't have a chip and thought that I might not be able to use my card.
I bought everything I need to cook! & yess they're so ahead of us when it comes to that!
I’m from London but I’m so curious to see how people from abroad adjust to the city lol
Also your book was about digital marketing? I’m currently working in the digital marketing team of a luxury fashion brand; do let me know if you need any tips/pointers of the industry or just London in general! 😊
thank you so much!!
Great vlog! What are you getting your masters degree in? What job do you plan to do after school is done? Career? Thanks :)
I studied at the Sorbonne. Enjoy your time!🙋
Yes to the q&a!!
I love to see your London post since that's my Town but I now live in The States. Enjoy the adventure!
Ah I had a app simular to that, I hated it XD it never worked properly, so I just used a different machine they had to top it up instead
I just started watching you and before I actually watched the vlogs I watched you and "Mike" AKA Jay British vs American video and if I'm in mistaking that sounded alot like Mike when you called someone to help you with the oven😂😂🤔
Loving the videos but what made you decide to move to London for grad school and are you planning on making London your home?
I’m loving this 😌
Cool vlog! Thanks for sharing!
Nice to know your're settling in. Check out Bri You Me Travel channel she's studying in London also.
Love your videos 👌🏽
thanks for watching!!!
Hi i wanted to know do you have any tips for healthy eating I’m trying to lose weight but it’s so hard 😫... and now that I’ve been watching you’re videos I W would love to go got London it looks beautiful 😌.
I suggest metro bank as it’s easy too and you get your card the same day
