The head sculpt on a technical level is very detailed and well made but alot of people have a problem with it because Miguel is straight up brown in the movie Here he looks more like a Micheal than a Miguel, hes too pasty for whatever reason.
Miguel is not the "Villain" from the movie that goes to the Spot. Spider-Man 2099 is more the antagonistic force Miles faces with due to their different views of how approach things and overall opposing to the ideas Miguel and others have of how to keep the "multiverse" safe.
@@quingresham1601he’s not a bad guy tho, his actions, while detrimental to the protagonist, aim to preserve the greater good and avoid further chaos. He’s not a villain.
For these Spiderverse characters I prefer the Shf and Mafex figures vastly more than these. I think the unmasked head is quite off on this tbh. Also, Spiderman 2099 is not really a bad guy, I honestly wouldn't even call him an anti-hero because I think he is an outright good person (for the most part). He is very much trying to save the most number of people given what he has experienced already, he is not depicted as ruthless or violent at all. His decision happens to be in direct opposition to that of the protagonist's (who himself has very good ressons to fight for what he is doing).
To be fair, the sequel isn't great. Its fun, but not as good as the 1st one. The 1st one is original and has a tighter story. I love spiderman 2099 but the story is kinda whack. Personally I'm not a fan of the spiderverse.
I like Miguel because he's not an actual villain. He thinks there's only one way to do the right thing. He thinks there's only one way to save the most people in the multiverse.
Spider-Man 2099 is the antagonist of the film. Doesn't mean he's a "bad guy" of the story just means he's in the way of the protagonist. Avengers infinity war did something like but they had Thanos who is the bad guy of the story be the protagonist of the film
Hey Antony, I think you should take more in to consideration the accuracy of the Spiderverse figures because even the basic figure of Spiderman 2099 has a batter shape, sculpt work and is more accurate than this figure.
Yeah as much as I tried to customize this to improve articulation still just falls short of being good because of that single issue imo, still I agree this is Superhero proportions
This figure convicted me to finally buy bootleg Spider-Man 2099 from CT Toys. Not only it will cost as much as this Hasbro figu… no, not figure, product, let just call it product. The bootleg will also be almost as good as SHF one, from what I heard it even has better heads than original SHF one.
A friend of mine got spider man india, he's pretty good and has the double ballpeg in the torso so apparently hasbro can do it at the regular price point
I bought the first version they released just because I'm a sucker for the 2099 suit / style. This one has an unmasked head and no cape, but better traps though. Oddly enough it seems the first version is selling for more on BBTS compared to this new one.
Miguel / Spidey 2099 is more like an overzealous cop than someone who’s directly trying to do harm. That could easily be the description of a villain, but he’s trying to act in the best interests of the multiverse as opposed to The Spot who is animated by ego in the movie
I feel like with the unmasked head they just looked at the comic version and combined it with his movie appearance. Miguel in comics looks more white as his Irish half is more dominant where he has more pale skin and reddish brown hair. Whereas in the movie his Mexican half is more dominant and he has a darker complexion with dark brown hair
he's not a villain, he just tries to stop miles from doing what he wants because (he thinks) it'll destroy the multiverse, and since miles is the main character that makes him an antagonist, but spot is the real villain
You pretty much nailed Miguel's role in the movie, not a villain, although I wouldn't say is that much of an anti-hero, for me he is just like someone with a rather cold vision of how things are regarding destiny and how that keeps reality together (yeah, that's a thing in the movie, I know it sounds weird and kinda ridiculous when you think about it but it is way better handled than in something like Deadpool and Wolverine) and he would do everything to keep universes from collapsing going as far as letting people who are meant to die... well... die. He is a good antagonist. I know the multiverse is played out on the MCU and that it is just an excuse to have cameos here and there but in the Spider-verse movies it is an important part of Miles' character arch (not sure how they gonna end it without breaking their own rules since the 2nd movie raised the stakes of his own existance so high, hope they don't half ass it). I'd say these are better multiverse movies than everyrhing the MCU has put out tbh.
Hey Anthony! Can you try reviewing third party figures such as CT TOYS, Demoniacal Fit etc. I think allot of people would appreciate it, specially coming from you since you can ACTUALLY review a figure
Like BTAS You buy these figures because they look like the astatic in the movie not for the actual articulation. BTAS figure are horrible in the articulation but the astatic makes them look like they came right from the show. Same here. So like you always compare a figure to its comic book source material, I think you should compare this to the "Spiderverse" source material of which they nail it unless you want to pay 3 times the price for the SH Figure Arts version. For price and accuracy to th3 SOURCE material I think all of these are on point.
He’s not a bad guy, spot is for this movie. there is a specific reason why 2099 may look like the “bad guy” but it makes sense, just watch the movie and thank me later haha
I have the first legends 2099 spidey, and if this guy had foily blue plastic and the red was a touch darker itd have looked so much better, and the face, idk what they were thinking. Not the worst figure at least?
What’s really annoying is that this looks way better than the shf 2099, but the hasbro one can’t pose, also the articulation cuts are really ugly. So both options suck at the moment. Still hoping mafex or sentinel do this character justice
this isn't what comic books should like, it's too goofy to be a comic book figure, yes it has a big chest and big shoulders but it's too big, for me the comic shape look is just achieved in some mafex figures like captain america, magneto, daredevil and nightiwing they don't have to be too exaggerate in the chest area they just have to be cool and to me they would look cool even if they had a normal muscly human proportions normal humans look cool too.
It’s preference. I don’t dig the stylized V shape. It reminds too much of a Classic Animated Batman or Justice league character. That style was just fine for an animated show but not in a figure. I want a classic comic book style. Those features are exaggerated too but proportionate. Tiny feet spindly legs and a huge upper body looks too cartoony to me. Dude definitely skips leg day. Also figures like this are a nightmare to stand. They are way too easy to knock over
Great review of a pretty “Meh!” figure. The whole retro-carded schtick is a gimmicky rip-off, IMHO. They charge more for less, and you have to destroy the gimmick if you want to play with the figure-nobody out Hasbros the Hasbros.
Yeah... The Marvel Legends team aren't making any effort like they used to, it really feels like they do it bcs of the obligation of having products on shelfs, i stopped completely buying them since last year and so many friends that collect, they no longer have the same value and the "special or premium" are just a joke
the unmasked head is WAY too light and the hands should be more claw-ish. this is like a $5 figure
Real. Kids meal-aah figure
i'm so sorry, Werewolves will not exist in 2025 and Dinosaurs will exist in 2025,
You are correct, Miles' first suit is intended to have uneven line work as the suit is one of Peter's that he straypainted.
¿Why did werewolves like black wig and did dinosaurs like blonde wig?

I love the Miles G Morales, and the Pavitr figures of the wave. You should review those

I like Miguel because he's not an actual villain. He thinks there's only one way to do the right thing. He thinks there's only one way to save the most people in the multiverse.
Tbh all evidence points to him being right, and experimenting or trying another method would result in billions of people dying if he's mistaken
