It's a common misconception that they disbanded. Their company, Banana Culture, closed in 2020 and they all signed to different companies shortly beforehand when their contracts ended. They continued releasing music and doing concerts 2019-2022 (with their most recent concert being earlier this month) under their Japanese label as that contract hadn't ended. Now they are under SonyMusic, at least for this upcoming album. It's similar to Girls' Generation w/o the benefit of having a majority of the members under the same company. They all promised they would have a Korean comeback when they could, but of course it's more difficult when everyone is doing different activities and they aren't signed to the same company.

I'm so glad you reacted to them! They are my favorite group besides BTS and SHINee. Their main vocalist, Solji, is one of the best vocalists in the industry (comparable to Taeyeon who I also love). The rapper, LE is an amazing performer and writes and produces many songs for EXID and other groups/artists. The other 3 members are wonderful and talented as well, but I'll leave it at that for the sake of brevity. EXID has a lot of wild music videos (Every Night, Ah Yeah, Up & Down, Hot Pink, etc.) so you will probably enjoy whatever you react to next. Some of the music videos (not any of the ones I listed) only have 4 members because Solji had to take a hiatus for health reasons. I Love You is actually their first MV after that hiatus. DDD has her voice, but she’s not in the video. Their comeback on September 29th is after 3 years and celebrating their 10th anniversary!
This was a 2nd gen group who were unfortunately active during a multi-year period I wasn’t paying attention to k-pop, but when I finally heard them, I fell hard. Because they were from a smaller label, most of their albums were already out-of-print and pretty difficult/pricey to import. They’re such a strong vocal group, and LE has some of the best rap flow I’ve ever heard in k-pop. I want more groups to do ‘90s throwbacks (and I’m glad New Jeans seems to be taking that mantle). I’m so excited for their 10th anniversary comeback.

most kpop groups nowadays have a minor or people under the drinking age, so it is really rare for there to exist concepts like this nowadays. But with the emergence of many popualr groups these last 3 years, maybe we'll see these in a few more years :v

A group you should also check out is B.A.P, they were one of the first groups to have this powerful and strong concept that a lot of boygroups nowadays do.
