When I see another trucker trying to pass me up, I usually drop about 5mph so they can safely and quickly pass me up and move back over. It's all about trying to get to the destination and back home safely for me.
Speeding up like that when another driver is trying to pass is just a “Dick move,” period. These mental patients take it as an insult to their “dignity” when they are being passed for some reason. It’s not a race, there’s no prize for coming in “first.” The object is to pickup/deliver your load and get home safely. If someone wants to pass me, I’m fine with it as long as they don’t slow down and become a pain in my ass when I’m on cruise control doing a steady speed. I love having a good front door. The guy filming this was a bit too close. If you count when he hits any given white line, he’s BARELY 2 seconds back. If these two had collided, it would have been messy.
I have been in both situations. Have passed people and went to move over only to find them speeding back up, and there’s been those few moments where the one passing me comes right on over with barely being past my hood. People amaze me with their driving ability.
They're both stupid. When someone is making, or even attempting to pass, make it as easy as possible to allow the maneuver to be completed. That will accelerate the process and if the overtaken driver does not like it, either pull over or attempt a pass yourself. However, DO NOT expect any driver, regardless of what vehicle is being driven, to allow an overtaking/passing maneuver, so don't get angry if passing is not possibly safe. Selfishness can KILL. Just my 2cents and experience.
Why wouldn't you create a passing opportunity for people behind you? That's stupid to block a lane for your own selfishness and then calling it others selfishness as justification for doing so.
Because that will piss off the guy behind you who himself will try to make a pass (a rash one even) and it’s also the job of the one trying to pass to properly judge the speed of the vehicle they’re trying to pass.

The trucks in this video should've had no problem, either the one on the left should be going faster before passing or the one on the right should slow down so that it's easier for the maneuver to be completed. At no point should someone be passing on the right but in the US it's very common for it to happen on 3 lane highways. Two lanes should always be left lane passing regardless.
I see this $h*t every night on the highway. One goes to pass a slow rig and all of a sudden the driver who's crawling realizes he's going to slow. (These drivers aren't governed either) Most of the time they are on THIER📱📞 . Instead of letting the truck pass, they speed up just to be jacka$$3$! I've been driving many years. I hear truckers all the time pretty much on the internet only say this is a "Brotherhood" No, this isn't a Brotherhood. WAY TOO MANY truckers treat eachother like crap. And it's not just the rookies. I've seen it from ALL walks of life and ALL levels of expierance. Americans, White, Black, Brown and everything in between. Middle Easterners, Europeans, young men, old men, rookies and 30 year "SUPERTRUCKER" veterans. I see em ALL (Again vets and rookies alike) wrecked on the side of the road in the snow and ice, especially the southern states where I guess many truckers don't think it snows for some reason.😒. I've been ran off the road numerous times. Been cut off, been brake checked and seen it happen to countless others as well. Funny because these "MEN" will talk you down in the CB, but never pull over at the nearest truck stop to handle whatever stick the have up their a$$. The only exception I've had was some dude from somewhere in the middle east pulled out a machete on me. (For full transparency I didn't see him at a roundabout and pulled out before he could. I didn't cut him off to where he had to slam on his brakes but he did have the right away. He followed me to the truck stop and I gestured to him I was sorry and it was my fault. Well, I guess he didn't care about that, and in his mind I might as well sp*t in his face because he got out of his truck and started banging on my door. So I got out of my truck. As I stepped out and shut my door he went to his driver's side door and grabbed his machete to swing twice at me. I don't think he was actually aiming for me because he hesitate mid swing but just the thought in his mind that he wanted to see me dead for a simple mistake that I apologized for😒. Just remember, you cannot carry a firearm criss state lines but they sure can carry swords, machete's, brass knuckles, ect...... wherever they go. Hey, they a no espeake inglese🤷, and from what I've seen, it works Alot of the time. BS.)

Things have unfortunately gotten worse amongst Professional Driver's and four wheeled driver's as well. A CB is good to have especially during winter months but it seems as though it's the new "Facebook/Twitter" of the Road. Bullying,Sh!t talking and Faking the Funk, Highschool all over again except it's Via CB, Grow TF Up!!👈🏾🤷🏿♂️🤦🏾♂️.
I’ve had no issue following people to rest area, truck stops, exits. As soon as they stop, I’m already out of the truck. I’ve done this to a couple 4 wheelers too. Sick and tired of idiotic ignorant people
I dont know who told you that there driver. I carry my Sig P320 .40 everywhere I run and it's perfectly legal. I"'ve been stopped by DOT in IA and multiple troopers in IL and none of them had n issue with my Texas concealed carry. Not a single one of them asked me to let them secure that weapon for their safety neither. All I did was declare that I had a firearm within reach of my person. I understand it used to be considered interstate transportation but that is not the case anymore. It is up to you, the gun owner, to abide by the laws of ALL jurisdictions you travel through. I carry. I don't carry to compensate for short comings. I carry because this world is getting nuts. And I refuse to loose my life over some bullshit like you went through. You manned up to it. Takes a hell of a man to do that. It takes a stupid to end your life or greatly harm you over a stupid mistake. Fuck that guy.

Well, the truck on left was to close to the truck on the right when decided to change lane. Truck on the left should have kept going a little bit more and then change lane. It’s obvious truck on left was going faster. On the other hand, truck on the right should have slow down when truck on the left started his lane change. They both was at fault
I agree. The truck on the left should've gone a bit further before changing into right lane but truck on right decided to be a jerk about it and create an unsafe situation.
If a driver decides to speed up when I'm finishing a pass, I'd come over too. If Decker wants to keep speeding up and running the shoulder, he's welcome to it. Guess he'd have to decide what he's gonna do if the shoulder started to evaporate. I don't know if the passing truck had previously done something to piss off Decker, but given what is visible here.... Decker is the pecker.

I’ve had this happen to me before. Let alone I do 75. Was passing another driver. I guess he could do 76 or 75 1/2 mph. As soon as my icc bumper passed. He started to speed up. We were on flat ground 100%. Did the same exact crap. So I got behind him, followed him till he pulled off at a service area. Got out, and started beating the shit out of him. I hate ignorant idiots.
Man I hate that so much, I will follow a truck driver in my truck doing 45mph on the freeway and when I go to pass all of the sudden he/she wants to do 60/70 to keep you from passing.

The logical rule: DONT CHANGE the left lane just next to the hood, pass it over few trucks ahead, GIVE ENOUGH space AS MUCH AS possible to the right lane vehicles. PLEASE.

I always get the tailgaters that refuse to pass even when the left lane is open for miles. I slowed down to the minimum (40 mph) and they still wouldn’t pass.
I always go as fast as I can,,, governed at 63.5 to 65(somewhere in there) ,, This is something where its a fight..-- something beneath most every driver. If you are fast enough to pass, then good. Semis passing each other is good to regulate traffic because every truck is governed at a different speed (they control the over-all speed), and then there go the fast truckers..... Sure, if cars are coming up behind you, wait and let them pass. Flick an emergency blink, 2 or 3 as thankyou, and people are happy enough. The road can be fast enough for all.

All drivers in this video were in a bad place .The driver passing not leaving enough room.The driver being passed tried to maintain speed and stayed with the passing truck to prove a point.Lastly,the driver making this video was too close to the veh in front of him.Anything could have happened. At least the driver making the video backed off to give more room in case the trucks in front collided. We ALL need to work together out here.All wrecks can be prevented!!!

You probably passed them while they were picking up speed to reach their targeted cruise speed only for you to perceive it as them speeding.

I'm amazed how many car drivers speed up when you pass them. I don't think some of them know they are doinig it. Others are just passive-aggressive.
