Go on and say it Nathan...these girls are awesome!
Paulina wrote and recorded the piano part for the backing track, and it's brilliant! It really sets an eerie, macabre mood and imparts a sense of foreboding for what is to come.
Watching this video in April 2024 . Catching up on all your TW reactions . Thanks. Cute daughter .
😊 thank you
One of my favorites. Just watching Dany you can believe the anguish her character feels. Fighting the altitude makes her sound even more desperate. Great lyric: "Is it all in my head or was it something you said?"
Others would remember better then me, but I think The One grew out of trying to save Ugh.
That's correct, and the other song that came about the same way was The Sacrifice I believe, it also has dramatic changes in it.
As far as the backtracking, it depends on where they decided to fine tune a song as time goes on. If you look at 'Survive' for example, on the LP and in some live performances, there is piano in there. Later performances, that was removed and few missed it. However, IMO, it's use in 'The One' gives a very latin flare and helps with the breakdown. If it weren't there, again IMO, the song would still work well, but would not be as interesting.
Sometimes I think Dany’s live vocal here is her best ever-although her voice has improved since this show (and she struggled with the thin air at the high altitude of Lunario), the passion here is incredible-when she sings “for you to love me BACK” near the end it feels like real desperation, not just singing about it.
Until you see them live, you have no idea the power they have over the crowd,it is totally mesmerizing. They caught me completely off guard the first time I saw them and that was after following them for 5 years, thinking I was prepared.
Yes they fight,it's in a vlog! 🤣
UGH, you got me wishing the tour starts tomorrow, Greg. LOL
@@krash66 has me feeling the same way, buddy! The touring can't start soon enough to suit me! I've never been addicted to anything, but I'm definitely going through TW withdrawal! Hopefully TW3 will at least whet my whistle! 🤣
@TeeSpicerMusic I think they may have a surprise for us once they finish up their business in New Jersey later this month...fingers crossed! 🤞❤🤞
Vlog 23 covers Chapters 1 and 2. I call this song the tipping point, because here she is seriously considering murder as an option - “I want to kill all the love that's for you, So only mine remains”. The lyrics also go from “let me be the one” to “I will be the one”.
Careful there, Madison's smile is a cause of melting icebergs. :P
and here you have the only real challenge for the warning playing these songs live... they all play piano well, and if, for example, Ale dropped to piano for that little instrumental bridge part that features piano and played keyboard bass during it, here HUGE bass tone would be missed so much and not able to be faked well by a keyboard I'm sure, that it would not be as good. So they use their own prerecorded piano track in this song, live.. I wish they didn't have to, but I can't imagine it going off as well if any one of the three of them moved to keys for that one section.... the best choice still being Ale imho since guitar and drums dropping out really would be a shock.
It’s possible the chorus actually came from a different song originally, they did a lot of recombining of song sections on this album. I like the dynamic changes in this song, it’s one of the most original compositions they have done. And they do put a fair number of pop hooks in the mix.
The chorus modulates the song into another key.
🔥🤘😎👍💯💕👏👏
Nathan, the next song has a real tone change as well. The chorus sounds like its from a completely different song and I love it. They've said during a live chat that they're not against a touring K/B player.
The Queen’s obsession and frustration becoming more clear here. Loved it guys. 🤘😎🤘👸👸👸
Keyboards are on the click track. Pau is running it on her laptop. Fil Henley explains it here: Set his video to 5:32.

Ale's bass lines in this song are outstanding! (Of course.)
To be honest, I like it when a song takes you in a different direction. I get the point about verse, bridge then chorus etc, but one of the things I liked instantly about the song, other than the fact it is just a brilliant song, is that it does go in a slightly different direction when it gets to the chorus and grabs your ears again. Their song writing is brilliant and I love the fact that they are not scared to do something a bit different if they feel that is how they want the song to go. Really enjoying this format of doing studio then live, works well and also highlights the passion and drive they put in to playing live.
Fun fact about The One. Their mom was singing the song one day, but got one of the lines wrong. They liked her verse so much they changed the song to put it in.
She replaced explode with exposed. 😄
The Warning has been very up front about their use of click tracks and backing tracks. In fact, Pau gets pretty excited about it: ruclips.net/video/sdJqYrzsfWg/видео.html
Pau was using iTunes back then to start-stop each track. She is using Ableton Live 10 now since March of 19' to add in elements to their songs like Piano, screams, Rudy's sermon in D2D etc you'll hear more in other songs. They don't rely on it so if it fails (and it has) you don't notice, the whole show doesn't stop because they are little additions to help the songs not drive them.
and now it also changes the song presets on Dany Pedalboard via MIDI controller, And possibly Ale's as well now she using a Line 6 Helix LT
Somewhere in their channel are vlogs where they talk about the songs of the QOTMS album. I would be surprised if there wasn't something in there about this. Not sure if it will answer the question you had about how they decided to structure it but it will be entertaining none the less. Not saying to react but just look them up and listen for your own pleasure. And in more than one interview they mention they do have disagreements. Great job with this format guys, really enjoying it.
You can tell all three of them have strong personalities. But at the same time they are really close as sisters, and they want each other to succeed. If Pau wanted to she could make every song about her drumming, and Dany could layer guitars over everything so you couldn’t hear Ale’s bass. This is one of the songs where I think Dany is leaving a lot of holes for the bass to come through in the verses, a lot of musicians don’t have the kind of discipline to do that.
From Stephen King's "Misery" to the real life case of Bjorks stalker (López) back in the 90''s we have many cases of obsession and tragedy in culture. And now we have QOTMS, plenty of material for psychology students to go through.
Brilhante
no hire someone else, Poh Pau do with a pedal backing track, amazing Pau! 💘💘💘
Una cancion para pensar, me qusta la implementacion del piano , esta cancion es de mis consentidas , fuerza The Warning
They would probably love to talk to you they do interviews on occasion and I think the read the comments on here.
We’d be thrilled. Can you imagine ?
I would prefer they used the backing instrumentals less even though their sound would suffer in it's fullness, but as long as they are playing the instruments in their hands and don't lip sinc I have no complaints.
Same here. I cringe when Nightwish does that too.
I think they have been reluctant to do different arrangements for live vs studio, even with all their talent they were really young when they started touring this album. It does seem that in later concerts they were shifting some things around to rely less on the background track.
Ryan thinks he's Pau with that mechanical pencil...
The album concept is about a female battling her soul or mind throughout the entire album i would suspect the arrangements in those tracks follow that pattern to give you bipolar schizophrenia ear candy
If Montreal got nuked, we'd all feel it, Ryan.
Que les pasó??? Dejaron el disco a medias
Ryan, what's wrong with your Warning-zombiation?? 1 month with no lessons
