- This makes the rear end look wayyy more modern. Remove that "wart" that Ford put on the car. I know it's a retro look, but it's a faux part on the newer cars.

Amen I am not a fan of chrome and I also dont like the stripes maybe red stripes on black or matte black stripes on black but for the most part I prefer smooth clean stripeless with no chrome like the black gt here looks sick. I think racing stripes look a little boy racer but everyone likes diff stuff I understand they came on shelby but if I had the chance to buy one new I would have ordered it with stripe deletes just my .02

Looks great, I've got a '13 GT blacked out as well. Going to do a carbon fiber panel on mine to replace the factory panel that has the clear coat peeling like crazy. Thanks for the video, love those blacked out exhaust tips too, looks badazz!

AR3Z-6342528-F is the updated decklid from Ford and not a knockoff brand like this. Updated one has no gloss clearcoat to haze like originals.

I’ve got a white 13 that I’ve wanted to get rid of the clunky stock deck lid and gas cap emblem. Been way too scared because of the cutting and not wanting to screw up lol. Yours turned out really slick looking.

looks good ... i have a black 14 and i painted all chrome with black chrome paint ....the rear panel on this video is starting to lose the clearcoat so I am considering options .... not a huge fan of badges but yours is simple and clean .. i like it

Hey Jacob, I installed the deck lid and there GT emblem a few weeks ago. But I have huge problems with the 3M tale. It doesn’t hold on the car.. I did it like 3 times with new tape, but it won’t hold :( did you clip the small taps in the back of the GT emblem completely? Or just a little bit?

If you have issues with your 3M tape sticking you either didn't clean it properly or it might have wax/ oil, something on the deck lid. Clean it with dawn dish soap, scrub really good, let dry, use alcohol. Maybe wipe it off like 2-3 times with the alcohol. Then your tape should have no problem sticking
By cutting into the deck like wouldn’t it get rusted over time?

How did you know exactly where to put the new emblem on the decklid? Is there a template or something you used to align it perfectly in the center?🤔
There are marks on the backside of the decklid for the alignment poles
What about spraying the cut metal?

Did you happen to put anything over the bare metal where you cut to keep it from rusting?
Yeah it comes with sticky seal tape to seal it up in the Fred's Parts kit
That was my only concern I would of put a little primer on because it would be hidden and protected but its never to late 3m tape is easy to replace

Hey bud I just put my new decklid on with the new GT emblem on but I’m noticing the top left of the decklid is starting to raise up. The adhesive is not sticking to the trunk. What should I use to make it stick back down?

I was scared but it wasnt so bad. Plus I got to buy a cool new tool for it :)

I think any with a good cutting wheel will work. Just stick to name brand for that cause it's worth it.
I would keep mines makes it look classic good thing the Last owner already paint it black tho not cause the new mustang has that look don't mean looks better after 015 don't even looks like a mustang it looks more like a Hondo all new cars look the same 😸

Biggest mistake you made was not priming and painting around the cut out part....that will rust the second water hits it.
