Love my Chameleon antennas. Its my go to set up. I need to pick up one of those whips! I have the 17' one, as part of my Delta loop. But the 25' one looks awesome!
Thanks, Jeff. I've been curious myself about a dipole configuration or an inverted delta loop. The whips might be too long to be extended fully in a horizontal position. I definitely want to try! 73
Did you fully extend the whip to 25 feet without tuning it? What was your SWR? I have found the receive performance on my whip is very sensitive to it being tuned correctly.
I had it fully extended with several counterpoise cut for each band. I didn't need to use the tuner on 10m On 17m, I shortened the whip and use a tuner.
@@toddcamnyc Having received my 25' whip and using it for a few days now, I was surprised at the number of QSOs I've had where I was rcvng them at 539 or so, and they had me at 599. Now I just re-read your comment on the sensitivity in rcv unless properly tuned for length! I can see I need to play with that some more. Thanks for the info.
I appreciate the effort to film all of this.
Amazed that telescoping antenna didn't fold.
Much appreciated!
Very nice setup! It's windy for real!! You can use BONGO TIES to hold you guy wires if you need to!
Excellent idea 💡
Thanks, CHA!
Great work,new subscriber 😊
Thank you, and welcome!

Looking like you had a fun day today! Nice video.
Thanks, Tyler. It was nice getting back up there and trying something new.
Nice. I’ve been interested in 25’ performance. Thanks for sharing it. Hope to get you in the log soon. KM4AT
Thanks for watching. I hope to catch you in the logs , too.
Chameleon make a metal base coil that will help.
Thanks, I hope to check one out!
I did a test this antenna vs a long old stick plus a old found speaker wire + CB/HAM Matchbox, The Speaker wire wins!
I would love to see a video of your experiment!
Nice. An SS25 wind test and a dead cat windscreen test all wrapped up in one. Thank you.
Both CHA and DJI passed the test! Thanks for watching 😃
Beautiful view. I gotta hurry up go take these tests. Gathering equipment for portable setup now but only gmrs license so far.
Thanks! HF is a lot of fun.
You can even take your test online now. Check out hamstudy.org/
Good luck 👍
Thanks for watching 😃
Great video and demonstration of this whip antenna! How do you think it would do with 2 in a dipole configuration?

Nice 🤟
@@W6OBB Thanks, Mike!
Did you have to adjust the length of the whip or just use the antenna tuner in the radio?
Same question...just received my SS25
I was working 10m with it fully extended. I didn't need to use the tuner. You can adjust the length to fine-tune.

Can't wait for the answer...Also, I suspect the dog had more fun.
@@jeffreyhall4149 by tuning it, I mean extending it to the correct 1/4 wavelength height, not using an antenna tuner.

@@W6IWN_Radio curious as to why you fully extended the whip and didn't run the whip at a quarter wavelength for 10M
