How did you solve this problem? I have a MacBook Air M2 and I have the same problem. I updated the Mac to macOS Sequoia and I still have this problem :(
i have same issue , maps also not working and auto update of time based on location, today i went to apple store , and they informed its a Defect and it will be fixed but they didnt commit on any date , and requested a refund and they refunded , went back to windows until they fix it , i travel alot and i need locations services to fix automatically the time , and my meetings schedule
@@movdqa No, you need Wifi on but you do not have to connect to a network when you are connected via Ethernet. The Mac needs your and other Wi-Fi signals to locate.
I assume Apple will fix it eventually. In the meantime, the workaround works for me. The Weather App was one of the main reasons I upgraded. The clock and hypervisor were the other two. I keep a close eye on the weather as it affects us so much.
@@frankzq Kind of what we get for annual macOS updates. Ventura, though, was a lot more stable compared to Monterey. Apple usually has most stuff working well by the following summer.
Thank you sir, this was helpful.
Same problem with my MacBook Air m2 15inch... My location is not showing...
Bro what did you do after then
Same problem here. Having to enable WiFi is stupid.

It seems to be working for me now in Sequoia though I have my current location in one of my saved places.

I completely understand. I was running a Windows 10 Virtual Machine on my Intel Mac to get the weather before macOS Ventura.
My map also not working, what should I do on my new MacBook Air m2 15 inch model ?
Bro what did you do next
It works only if I turn on WIFI.
You have to turn on Wifi - deskop Macs do not have GPS inside.
That would still be a bug as it should just use Ethernet if WiFi is turned off.

not true, i'm connected to wifi other location service like maps on chrome and FF working fine. Just the weather app/widget not working.
I also met this bug. It's really confusing.

@@movdqa Another bug is, when I fly to another country, the time region won't change automatically. I think location services have some bugs.
