The first verse lyrics are not right. Maybe they forgot the lines. Our band Fat Toad and the Stools and Dave and the Del-Rays did this song in out bands in Chicago in 1964.
If I remember right E.C. was so disgusted with this song and its success he quit the band over it. Seen GKB play this live many times, this is an encore song where every band member get a turn, next you will tell me Ringo wasn't a great singer.. duh!
The Greg Kihn Band did a great job of this song. I especially like when the bass guitarist Steve Wright sings his part the best.

Ah, A ripping tune. they do it well too. Back in the eighties it was a classic hit. Now it's just plain vanished from the airwaves. Wonder why?
