    I haven't watched youtube videos for a while and just realised (again!), how inspirational your photos are.
    I'm getting so much out of them! The calmness, solitude and balanced color palette... love it. Thank you for sharing your work, Samuel.

    Gorgeous images. Your work and that camera are an extension to each other and it certainly shows. I recently grabbed a RB67 and I can't wait to compose some images with it.

    I picked up a Mamiya 7 w/ 65mm in 2018 for about $1.7K. Prices now are just way to crazy but I somewhat understand it based on its functionality & results. I absolutely adore this camera & hope to pass it down to my kids one day.

    Mamiya lenses are so amazing! Slight increase of regret at selling my Mamiya 6 after seeing these photos and browsing through my own archive again 😅. Either way, really appreciate the longer term thoughts on the camera!

    Beautiful video Sam. Agreed it's not till you've really been with a camera a long time that you can really offer deep insights. And the primary deep insight always gets to intangibles. "It's an extension of me". I have a mamiya 6ii. It is my favourite camera, along with xpan. When I first got it, I think the extraordinary precision of the glass took some getting used to, having used TLRs etc. I mean, the workflow takes some getting used to too, right, which I think you're very honest about. I also still find I have to be very careful not to make thin negatives if the scene is even remotely backlit. Sometimes wish I had a 7, but I do love the folding lenses and use all 3 and also crop to 67 in post on occasion. Beautiful, timeless photography mate. Thank you

    Very important, using the strap as it first version is totally wrong , by that you causing damage to the rewind mechanism as the camera goes up and down while you walking the lever suffers from micro movements which eventually brake it , you should hang the camera horizontally , that’s why they add this lug in the second version 🤘

    it would be great to see how you're organizing and storing all your gear, lol I know it's not the most exciting but im getting into the thick of it now with a Mamiya 7, RZ, Z7, 500CM, M6.. I should probably just stash it all in a pelican but I wanna keep em out a lot. Any tips?

    I was actually wondering how do you compose your image while using the rangefinder? As we see the lens through it. Do you make the focus and then slightly recompose to the right?

    Where does the Leica Q2 fit into your personal photography needs, alongside the Mamiya 7ii? Are both part of your daily camera carry? Or what drives that decision of which one to grab on your way out the door? Thanks Sam, great video. Inspiring stuff.

    Hi Samuel,
    Thank you for this good video and your shared feedback.
    I've had a Mamiya 7 for a few months and I use it manually, but I had bad surprises with the spotmeter. As you say, he is very good but very sensitive. I have the impression that it is often used in A or AE mode, so that the speed is always well adapted. In manual, when you are between 2 speeds, the personal choice is not always the right one, in any case, for me, it is not always perfect;)
    How do you generally use it? Manual or A?
    Congratulations for your work

    Hi, Is it worth buying the Mamiya 7 II + 80mm f/4 £3500-£3800? User says it is immaculate. Is it too risky to buy as they are old. User says he bought it new in 2003. Is this camera recommended for portraits and travel?

    • @zKMotion
      @zKMotion 2 месяца назад

      If it helps, I always shot mine in AEL instead of A mode.
      That way I can meter the scene and recompose the frame without the meter constantly changing in A mode.
