- Hey everyone! My wife and I will be traveling to the UK in May to participate in Europes largest Maker Event. Makers Central will be held in Birmingham, UK on May 11th and 12th. Last year was amazing and I expect this year will be even better. Whether your a content creator or a fan, this is an event you will not want to miss. This is the 2nd and most likely the last time this event will be held in the UK. Do not miss this thinking you can come next year. This is most likely the last time you will have an opportunity like this.

Great video buddy thanks so much for making this cool funky tumbler for the show . The winner is gona love this 🤗🕺🏾👍🏽👍🏽🤓
Keeping the algorithm alive. Nice vid.
Always appreciated.
Brilliant mate! Your English is sounding quite proper. I’m sure we will have a smashing good time in Birmingham. I’ll see you there. Happy days!
Did you see someone said they want to see This Old Tony there? Also remember me trying to record the train saying “Birmingham?”
@@ManCrafting Yes! We've got to get in touch with TOT, somehow! Yeah, but that video clip with the white board is pretty funny!
That turned out so good. I’m always amazed how good the mugs look. Have fun at makers central brother. Maybe I’ll catch you on the next one.
Unfortunately, this may be the last one. Nick doesn't really have the time to commit to it, and has said it won't happen again. He has said that in the past, but I think an event like this takes a company that is dedicated to the cause. Not sure that will happen.
ManCraftingTM man that’s a huge bummer. I was totally planning on being there, and then found out it’s one of my kids 1st communion weekend. They would hate me if I missed that. I’m sure I’ll see you at some other event.
Great video. Always cool to the powder coating process and lasers are just always cool to watch.
Chipped Builds even owning one it’s still fun to watch.
awesome video!!
Thanks. I really wish I had the skills to make them better but I always try.
Wow - big list of folks coming out for it! Wish I could come. My wife keeps wanting to take a trip to the UK. Have fun!
This is the time to do it!
Nice work!
brandon belk thanks Brandon. 👊🏼
Have fun in the UK.
Thanks Randy. It will be a blast. I think you would enjoy it, but I am sure there are machist events that take you away from home enough.
I’m even giddier about this year than last year, and like you I’m bringing my wife this time. Cheers Chad!
Bringing mine as well. It’s going to be amazing sharing the UK with her. So much to do. I wish I could have made it a two week trip. 👊🏼👍🏼
Super excited to see how your trip goes. I can use a couple of those cups and growler.
Jk Canvas awesome. Are you planning on going?
No I am not but will live vicariously through you guys who are going.
Those are great, Chad! And with all the signatures you're going to get even that much better. Wish I could go. I know it will be a great time.
Billy
Really awesome Chad! 👍🏻👊🏻 .... Wish I could make it! 😃
That makes at least two of us. 👊🏼👍🏼
Great video, look forward to see you there
See you soon Paul!
Hey Chad, im just catching up on my to watch list !! Love this idea man.... Really looking forward to catching up again and meeting your better half !! See you soon in Bir-ming-um 😂
Templeboy Turnings see you soon. Can’t wait!
Ha that was a great intro you added in. Great idea too and the list of Makers is crazy long.
ROCK N WOODWORKS thanks Eloy. I wish you were one of them. It would be epic.
It's so awesome to see all those great makers coming together in 'Birming-Um'! 😉 We wish we were able to go this year, but we didn't want to risk blowing our cover with British Intelligence. They've been looking for us ever since that incident with the Queen (don't ask). 😜
Very nice chad 👍🏻👊🏻 see you there mate
jp woodwork it’s going to be great. Who would have thought that we would see each other 2 times in 2 months.
@@ManCrafting i know right, aint you lucky LOL
jp woodwork this is where I wish I could use a meme on RUclips to reply. 🤣
@@ManCrafting hahahaha
I'm glad I stumbled upon your channel, great content! Where do you get blank mugs and other items for your engraving and powder coating? I just bought an engraver/cutter with rotary attachment and want to get started in making things. Every where I look for cups and mugs already come with their own logos or names on the item.
What low cost items would you practice on? I was just thinking would a tin or plastic can/bottle work for practicing? Of course the tin can would be powder-coated first. These would be good low cost ideas.
David Thompson JDS has stainless and precoated at good prices. Check HOGG Stainless they have a pretty good selection as well. For practice, use the actual cups. That way you are familiar with how your machine works on that specific material. I have tons of tumblers that I test on. I’ve messed up a lot of cups. Sometimes they slip on the rotary, or I didn’t line something up right or I forgot to change a setting. So over almost three years I’ve got quit a collection of test tumblers.
Love it! And my mug too! 👊🏼
I wish I had read your name on that list. You and your wife would love it over there.
Tried to make it work but powers at be had other plans 🙁
Dirty Smith I understand. It’s not easy to take time away when you’re the business. If you’re not hammering it’s not getting done. Sure Craig can hammer but it’s tough when it’s only two of you doing the work of 6 men.
ManCraftingTM ah not so much schedule but there was an invite to be part of it from others but never heard back from the guy organization it.
Watching this now brother!
Thanks John!
Awesome Chad!! Nice video and I’ll see you in BirmingHam ...👍👍
The Muz Shop thanks Mike! It’ll be great getting to see you again.
Y'all these cups are F'in awesome, you BETTER share this crap or Imma find you
Sounds like an awesome event. I decided not to go this year for other reasons, maybe next year.
Don't count on it. Unless someone steps up and decides to produce it, Nick said he's done.
@@ManCrafting That's right Chad its be there this year or be Square! Looking forward to seeing you guys again :)
@@ManCrafting That's sad to hear.
Nice video and I hope I can win that set! I'm looking forward to seeing you again! The list of people I want to make sure I say hi to is very long. It's going to be an amazing time!
Figments Made I hope you and everyone else who is waning one wins as well.
I'm looking forward to meeting you there Chad!
Andy Pugh likewise. I’m counting the days. 👊🏼
What laser system are you using to etch? Power output Level? Focal lense length?
What oven temperature (deg F) for powder coating? What powder material? How do you prep the aluminum surfaces? Thanks.
Haha. That's a lot of questions. I do have about 50 other videos that go into this process deeper, but let me see if I can knock these out. Boss 1630 with a 100w laser set at 35. The focal length is 2". Oven is at 425 to get the part to 400 degrees for 20 minutes. I used Prismatic Powders Desert Night Wrinkle coat, The containers are stainless, and I just use windex to clean any oils that may be on them from manufacturing or handling.
@@ManCrafting I plan to watch more of your videos. I am subscribed because you're easy to understand and offer great solutions to make problems. Good luck in the UK make event.
NO5X thanks. I really do try. I look at it like this. If I can figure it out or learn how to do something, pretty much anyone can.
Awesome sounding give away Chad.
That can hold the perfect amount of Bri-ish tea. See you soon!
Joe Makes 🤣 that’s a lot of tea. 😁 can’t wait.
Have a great trip Chad.
Thanks Jim!
Looking forward to seeing you at Makers Central again Chad. And thank you for making an effort to pronounce the city name properly ;)
Hahaha. My pleasure. Looking forward to hanging out again as well.
Hey Chad, I’m James and I would really appreciate it if I could ask you a question in regards to powder coating and removing vinyl from tumblers. I’ve been doing a two color process but I’m really having a hard time removing the vinyl without getting messed up lines and chipped paint. I was wondering how long I Should cure the cup in the oven before removing to remove the vinyl and at what temperature or time is the best for removing the vinyl after removing the cup from the oven. Please help me with this subject it’s very frustrating making mistakes please please please and thank you.
I have a few videos where I detail this in depth. Short version. Cure the first coat about 30% apply vinyl add second coat, put back in oven until the second coat begins to flow. Doesn’t need to be full temp just need to start flowing. Pull out of oven and before it completely cools peel the vinyl. I usually do it when the cup has cooled to about 120. Then back in the oven for full cure.
Thank you for getting back to me. Do you think it is necessary to scuff up the first paint layer so that the second coat sticks better or is it not needed. Is that why you only do a 30% cure on the first coat so when you do the second coat they sort of cure together. Thank Again !! Really appreciate all the info.
I’ve never found the two layers separating. No need to scuff. It’s like plastic melting together.
Did you spot weld that bracket your rotary is on? How did you attach it? Any videos on that?
CanCrusher ruclips.net/video/HHle3CbMCZ8/видео.html is this what you are asking about?
@@ManCrafting Nope, it looks like you are setting your rotary on a cross bar in the boss laser. Is cross bar attached to boss laser or just magnetic or what?
CanCrusher ok. Now I got you. The brackets are from Boss. Made to fit the 1630. I just have mine sitting in there currently, but they are supposed to be screwed in place.
What lazer machine do you use?
Diesel Wilson I have a Boss 1630 from Bosslaser.com
Does it have a way to pass through? For example if you were gonna do a larger piece? I just started following your page recently. Sorry I'm new to RUclips for some reason. Do you have a video on it?
Diesel Wilson I don’t have a video on using the pass through. I did do a large acrylic sign that was about 3 feet long using registration marks. It turned out great. There’s photos on Instagram. This is my friend Greg’s page. I did this for his church youth group. instagram.com/p/BVkNRL9gPLT/?igshid=rgyjvdri1hio
I’m just now following on RUclips! 🤦♂️ I’ve been following on Instagram for a long time, not sure what took so long.
Thanks Dan. Always appreciate another subscriber. I hope you find value.
Look at you pronouncing Birmingham perfectly! Lol
Looking forward to meeting up with everyone at #MC19
Awesome! Can’t wait to see you!
ugh.. I will not be going to Makers Central.. unfortunately
I still need to design your "on air" sign tho
Interactive Realm it’s not exactly across town. I get it. 🤷🏻♂️
I like Ham from Burming!
CU in 43 days 🤙
Looking forward to it!
Very nice! I have a similar channel. We should colab!
Fentertainment haha. Thanks Ryan. Anytime brother. 😁
this old tony
John Connor trust me. There are a few of us trying to make that happen. So far, we’ve only been promised hands. 🤣
@@ManCrafting he might use his lath teleporter so you dont have to pay for shipping or wait
@@ManCrafting he is hilarious and amazing at the same time ..the shit he makes is unreal
Hey, Chad
I have tons of questions for you if you every have 3 days.......

Boooo. I can’t go. 😞
Brian that’s disappointing to hear. I wish you could.
