Allahuma baarik wallahi sheikh abu iyyad is someone so amazing. I don’t even know how my sheikh looks like but he teaches in such a easy way for even us layman to understand things that are so deep…especially his articles are just as Good if not better than his lectures…oh Allah bear witness that I love sheikh abu iyyad, bro shamsi and all these salafies who use powerful Aqli arguments but also never contradict the shariah, the lying ashari sufis make ppl think salafies don’t use intellectual proofs and that our scholars are stupid wallahi i truly believe they are accusing us of exactly what’s wrong with themselves hadanaa wa hadahumuAllah JazakAllahukhayran dusdawah

I know Shaykh Abu Iyaad he is someone doing dawah for long period of time, but him holding a doctorate in bio chemistry will not make him qualified to give public opinion in issues of Nawazil, without discussing or taking the guidance of the scholars.
Everyone has their place, we do not undermine nor exaggerate their level,
Alhamdulillah i still listen to his lectures and read his articles on issues of which he writes with knowledge but i do not listen to his works which he indulged in recent events if covid and stuff like that. Because those are issues of nawazil.

Then how does one reconcile the hadith of staying in one's homes during a plague? Honest question. That hadith was bandied about hugely during that big flu.

May Allah reward Sheikh Abu Iyyad for his defense of the Sunnah and beneficial content. However, I definitely disagree with the position expressed in this video.
Viruses absolutely exist, and this is a scientific fact that is accepted by all scientists, Muslim and non-Muslim alike. Someone denying this on the basis of science should be a scientist or someone with a scientific background. And calling viruses “Darwinian” doesn’t make the concept connected to the fallacy that all life has common ancestry that non-Muslim scientists claim - in fact, there is no connection. On the other hand, someone denying the existence of viruses on the basis of Islam should bring a clear proof from the Book and the Sunnah that says that viruses don’t exist. Rather, it is proven that some diseases may be transmitted by the will of Allah and that it is legislated in Islam to take means of protection from them.
For example, the Prophet, peace be upon him, forbade entering a land where there is an outbreak of the plague (Bukhari 5728), said that one should run from the leper as one would run from a lion (Bukhari 5707). It also came explicitly in Bukhari (5771) and Muslim that the sick should not be brought upon healthy. In light of these evidences, the statement of the Prophet, peace be upon him, that there is no contagiousness is to be understood along with his other statements, which in their totality refute the idea that contagiousness occurs by itself with certainty and not by the decree of Allah, and not that there is no physical transmission of illness ever at all.
This is what many of the scholars are upon. For example, can it be said that Sheikh Fawzan, who himself took the COVID-19 vaccine and thanked the Saudi government for providing to the people it by Allah’s grace, doesn’t believe that viruses exist or that one should take means to protect oneself from infectious diseases?
Thus, while it is prohibited to believe that sickness spreads by itself, or that every single person who mixes with a sick person will definitely get sick, it is absolutely legislated to take caution from people with contagious diseases, and it is absolutely observed that the family of a sick person, or some of them, often do get sick as well, by the decree of Allah. This is known to everyone who has experienced these situations and cannot be denied.
And if we understand that this is all by the decree of Allah, then it should be no surprise that some family members who mix much with the sick do not get sick, while someone who may enter upon him for a few moments does get sick. This is due to Allah willing both occurrences to happen, and He is over all things capable. This does not in any way prevent us from taking worldy means and precautions in accordance with the sharia.
    And Allah knows best.
