  • What is Nasya Oil? Nasya is the nasal administration of an herbal oil that nourishes and supports the sinuses, nose, throat, and head. It does more than soothe occasional sinus discomfort: it has been traditionally used to lubricate the nasal passages, improve the voice, and support clear vision.*
    Nasya Oil harnesses the power of soothing sesame and olive oils, along with clarifying herbs like calamus, gotu kola, and eucalyptus. Balancing for all doshas, it helps maintain balance and awareness in the mind, freedom in the breath, and vitality in the body.*

    This looks interesting. Wondering about the breakdown of ingredients and how much is absorbed. If someone is taking brahmi then adds this to their regimen, should the dose of brahmi be reduced?

    • @banyanbotanicals

      Hi Praveen! Excellent question and I hope this late response is still helpful. There is no need to adjust the amount of brahmi one is taking if introducing another herb that contains a small amount of the same. The amount of brahmi present in nasya oil is very small.

    Hello, BB! Quick question I purchased this stuff and I noticed that this contains calamus. The calmus powder sold is not for internal use. Is placing in the nose different then consuming through the mouth? Or is the amount in Nasya so low it doesn't matter?

    • @banyanbotanicals
      @banyanbotanicals  4 года назад +3

      Hi! Great question. The presence of calamus in Nasya Oil is safe and legal when used as suggested on the product label. Calamus is added to Nasya to aid in sharpening the mind and increasing awareness. The use of calamus in foods is prohibited in the United States by the FDA. Whether it can be used as an ingredient in a dietary supplement is not clear; however, Nasya oil is only intended for external applications, which is entirely within FDA guidelines.

      Hi Hanjidha! Actually, we recommend breathing in the drops of oil through the nose directly, meaning that you don't have to remove any oil afterwards. Swallowing during the procedure is not recommended, as the connection to the nasal cavity and throat is very close and it could lead to the oil going to the wrong place. how cow milk nasya is beneficial to brain ? does it cure fear ocd depression

    • @banyanbotanicals
      @banyanbotanicals  6 лет назад

      Hi there! Our Nasya does not contain cow milk. Because the nasal cavity is a direct connection to the brain, Nasya Oil helps release tension in the head and relieve accumulated stress by soothing the nasal passages. However, due to FDA regulations, we are not licensed to make health claims or speak towards Nasya's effects on OCD or depression. Hope that helps answer your question!

    Does this work for weak eyes sight? ?

    • @banyanbotanicals
      @banyanbotanicals  5 лет назад +1

      Good question! We do know that the daily practice of administering Nasya Oil is generally considered to be supportive of overall eye health (among its other benefits). However, we are not licensed practitioners here at Banyan, so the question of whether or not Nasya Oil can strengthen eyes weakened as the result of a medical condition is beyond our scope of knowledge. If you suffer from weak eyesight as a result of a medical condition, we encourage you to reach out to a healthcare practitioner to see if Nasya Oil is right for you. Best of luck!

      Sorry to hear that, Dr. Zaius. Although it does help assist with cleansing the sinuses of excessive pressure and tension, nasya oil is not always the right choice for those who have an excess of liquid mucus, which is better eliminated with the use of a neti pot. Nasya oil is best for lubricating dry nasal passages. It is also best used alone, and not in combination with the neti pot or other nasal cleansing methods. It is not recommended to do nasya if you have a cold, a sinus infection, or the flu. For more information about nasya oil and its best practices, you can visit this page on our site. www.banyanbotanicals.com/info/blog-the-banyan-insight/details/ayurvedic-insight-newsletter-29

      @@vishnu108hari We're so glad to hear that you are no longer stuffed up!
      In Ayurveda, the nose is thought to be the doorway to the brain, mind, and consciousness. Therefore cleansing and lubricating the nasal passages with helpful herbs and oils supports the higher cerebral faculties and sensory organs, enhancing cerebral circulation and balancing prana (the vital life force) to the body. By subtly infusing the air breathed in through the nostrils with these supportive herbs and oils, nasya helps to promote mental clarity, focus, and memory.

      Thanks for tuning in! One of the beautiful precepts of Ayurveda is that everyone is unique-what works to bring balance for one will not necessarily bring balance for all. It is always advisable to consult an Ayurvedic practitioner who can properly assess the core issues and prescribe the appropriate herbal remedies in the proper dosages.
