Shoutout to the patient Hitsville tour guide who has to suffer rhythmically challenged visitors. House looks great. Wish you had shown more pics of finished exterior.
Well done, fellas! You all did a great thing, helping to restore that old beautiful home. Reminds me of Season 1. Dorchester was pretty run down too, and feeling the recession. TOH did it justice. Thanks for taking care of my home town, and come back to Detroit any time! 😊
And how long until their home gets invaded ? Or a bunch thief’s break in and demand for money? I would avoid the whole of Detroit it’s gone way past the point of recovery
Companies complain that there are not enough trades people to hire. Some of this is their own fault. Companies used to train interns and apprentices but in cost cutting moves they eliminated them. Young people need to be trained in the trades if there is going to be a next generation of trades people.
I wish This Old House and HGTV would do more episodes of transformation of whole blocks that need some love in down trodden cities.. Neighborhoods can be saved if local people can get some help and education starting a business doing restorations. There needs to be more training of local students in plumbing, carpentry and electrical trades.
I agree with the first comment. TOH usually does upper middle class projects. This house is for a fireman's family. That type of population and lower middle class as well would make for great TOH projects.
they start at $1000?!?! wow what an amazing deal! i need togo get me one asap i dont care if its falling apart thats totally fine with me a house is a house. here they start at $650,000. SMH. LUCKY people.
I love this, but the attic insulation was premature. Tommy knows there are no ice dams in summertime, and the electrical should have been replaced first, and the attic floor sealed etc.
So if the window is painted with lead we have to freak out and call some kind of special removal contractor...but if the windows are *made out of lead* that's cool. Either way stop licking the windows.
@@allysonand Wow, you must have licked a lot of lead. So that makes lead pipes OK then? And hell, let's all have lead plated doorknobs and cabinet hardware! This moron says it doesn't flake! Probably great for ductwork too!

I'd love to see you come back to Detroit for another season!
These old houses in Detroit are so freaking nice.
@Brian Glade the architecture not the current condition fool. Detroit used to be one of the richest cities in America until white flight.
@@brianglade848 yea that's what I thought. Think before you speak next time

Beautiful!
How awesome!! Go Detroit!! 👍😎🇨🇦📷✌🙏🔨🪚💘
Man is it ever nice to see your crew somewhere besides the wealthy neighborhoods of the Northeast. Tommy is still adorable too. 💕
The wealthy neighborhoods pay da bills
It's great to see Roger again
@@Kevin-mp5of what the heck is a perbaht?
Kevin and Tommy are a good television pair
Thats awesome for the neighborhoods in Detroit!!!!

I wish we had been given a tour of the finished house!
did you watch the last couple of minutes??
This is an old season. It was fully online a ways back but it may not be online anymore.

Seeing Richard's cringeworthy dancing. lol Love it.
you guys have to go back and do another house ! Please !
I could sure use you guys to help me finish my addition because i messed up my lower back bad and now disabled
@@brianglade848 I'm good with it just let me know when you can come over. Thank you
This episode is more than 10 years old

Does anyone know how much such renovation/restoration cost for a whole house?
I have that pink bathroom tile!
My favorite part was the guy hocking a loogie @19:14 while Richard was blabbering
hahaha i am so glad someone else saw that haha and then followed by god awful white people dancing and singing hahaa
A major problem with Detroit is property tax. Over 4% is outrageous.
There are way more problems than property tax!
Putting this much money into something you will never see a return in. Its like putting 1000 dollar tires on a car that doesnt even run.
It's their home it was a heck of a lot cheaper than buying something else I'm sure. It also helps brighten the area and reduces waste
@@mikebeverly88 Havent been to Detroit much eh?
Okay I see what TOH is doing now
Isn't this a rerun?
yup. most of these episodes are
Should never use OSB board on a roof, seriously
There's gotta be a business going already just collecting bricks from dilapidated buildings there and sending them where people actually want to live.
When will T.O.H. Get rid of all these clowns/trolls who keep trashing these videos with their ignorant, annoying comments?!!
We'll get our RUclips department on that right away. Thanks for your input. Ed- TOH production team
Hahaha Super!

I wish the house was rotting and had mold and more demolished, then it would be really fun to watch.
Detroit needs to be renamed to Ghetto City.
Detroit is poo poo
Always will be
People there dont care
