This is sad to see. I’m a ups driver of 30 years. My very first route was in Dolton, and despite what you’ve heard. It is a nice community. For a year I interacted with the residents and they are some of the nicest people. They deserve better!!!

Supervisor Henyard is also the Mayor of the Village of Dolton.
The Village of Dolton provides 24/7 security for Henyard,

The citizens must request full transparency. Show them where the police budget funds are being spent. if necessary, go line by line, and audit police expenditures. Put the mayoral security detail to a vote and vote for disbanding of the detail. Establish and vote for business rules for the deployment of the police. Public safety should be first on the agenda. Citizens first. Conduct a threat analysis and determine when and how police will be deployed to protect elected officials. Quantify the total dollar amount that is spent on the police mayoral protection detail. That amount must be justified.
People have tried they will not give over the information. Many have gone to the courts but they won’t show the paperwork.

Imagine a police chief that would actually allow his meager budget to be squandered on a 'security detail' for a mayor that a fool can see is misusing public funds as well as public trust. I want to hear his explanation for one of his cops working over 300 hours in a pay period. Even if that cop was wide awake for all those hours , who would want a guy who has had no sleep in two weeks on their 'security detail'? To listen to this clown talk about his budget while he is assigning all those cops (on overtime) to protecting an idiot is just plain damning.
Right about the 27 1/2 min mark Lacy makes it very clear he does not know how budgets work. You have a finite amount of money, you allocate that to via a budget, then you spend to stay inside that budget. He is saying that the Trustees should vote money into the bank account. Budgets do work that way, as we all know.
It is possible to be pro police and still cut the budget, especially when the mayor is misusing police resources. No one as of today has explained how an officer was able to clock in 303 hours in a 2 week period.

We had some real rough necks on our block for about 5 years and nothing was being done about them after repeated calls to the police. At a board meeting, a few residents on the block attended. We mentioned about these people and that nothing was being done. Lacey was just a PO at the time. He came over to us and invited us into an office. There he asked what was going on, we explained in full details the nightmare events this family was causing. He assured us things would be handled. He gave us his direct phone number, told us to call him anytime, day or night. He answered and responded when ever we called. He stopped the trouble makers from coming on the block every day distrubing with loud car music. Eventually, the main culprits were evicted due to Lacey's help. He helped our entire 2 blocks. It's been quiet and peaceful now for 4 years now. We no longer have to wait until aholes decide when they want to go home, in order for us to get some sleep.
So the interim police chief is a crook too?! Wow
The absolute truth is that in your city the chief of police reports directly to the mayor, and the police report directly to the chief of police. What that means is that the police work for the mayor, not the people. I’m glad she has exposed this fact.
